Battery Icon Is Missing From Taskbar?

Just recently i have noticed that the battery icon is missing from my taskbar. I have already right clicked on the taskbar and went under 'notification area' and selected for it to always be displayed. I have also tried clicking on 'turn system settings on and off' but it says it is off and does not allow be to turn it on. It kind of looks like the icon is missing or there is no icon for the battery power. I have a Windows 7 laptop.

my Acer Aspire running Win 7 has stopped showing the audio icon on the Taskbar. Some websites have very annoying music or 'announcements' so I like to switch the sound off - now I can't without going via Control Panel.I have looked in Control panel and found System Icons - and the Sound label is shown as OFF. But the little arrow next to it to change the state is greyed out so I can't turn it back on.I tried the 'show all icons' under Notification Area Icons but the audio still doesn't show.

I reinstalled a Windows 7 OS, and now the volume icon has disappeared from the taskbar. The only way I can adjust the volume is to go into Control Panel. I found the "turn system icons on or off" window, and although the volume icon says "show icon and notifications," it's not on the taskbar, so I don't know what more to do.

I had my new desktop with Windows 7 Home 64bit for about 2 weeks now and so far im loving it. The one and only problem im having is the volume icon in the taskbar.Sometimes when my Windows boots up, the volume icon is missing from the taskbar. I take a look in "turn system icons on or off" and the Volume, Network and Action Center are greyed out (cant click them.) It does this once every 2 or 3 reboots. The only way to fix it is to reboot. Its not a huge problem but its very annoying having to reboot 2 times.

(Just got a new replacement battery because my old one finally died)As I'm writing this my battery status shows the charge. In about a minute, I'm assuming it will switch back to the red X status that says "No battery is detected"....The icon switches back and forth constantly and can't decide weather to show my status, or lie to me and tell me there's no battery attached to my laptop.I've read many threads about "no battery is detected" problems and I've done all the steps. I had a big blip that showed up on the screen telling me that to lengthen the life of the battery, I needed to change my power.It gave me 2 choices - one was Dell recommended. No explanation so I chose the "recommended" setting.I discovered that even though I was still plugged in, my taskbar showed me operating on battery.When I opened the pc today, it was still on battery even though it was plugged in.Later in the day, it automatically switched over electricity.I'm assuming this is the way it's supposed to work but I've done searches on Power Settings etc and if I wanted to revert back to the way I was using the battery I can't find it. I even did a "restore" and it didn't change.Where do I find the setting that refers to this selection?

Logged in today and just saw that the battery icon has gone. So now I don't know whether I have full battery or almost gone, apart from the alerts.
I right clicked the the taskbar above the other icons > properties but the power icon is set to off, and the 'off' button is blurred out, so I can't set it back to on. All the other icons are set to 'on', and have the option to be turned off, just the battery one is blocked.

I have an HP Pavilion dv4 and i noticed that when i move the mouse cursor over the battery icon in the system tray. It only displays percantage of battery, not displays the time remaing of how long my battery life is. So, Is there a setting somwhere or something I can do to make it appear?

Ok i have windows 7, Recently i have found out that i have a full list of errors that happened pretty much overnight:Here's the list 1. I can't go onto Control Panel It say's " This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" I AM THE ADMIN.. I am the only account too. 2. My Task bar is missing, When i go ctrl-alt-del i see no option to open up my task bar. [FIXED] 3. I cant RIGHT click on anything on my desktop, as well as my folders and stuff. Although i can right click while playing games or browsing the internet, so my mouse is definitely not broken. So u must be thinking, this guy has a virus for sure... Well if i do have a virus it must be made by ******* Bill Gates. Because i can't find it.I have the FULL version of Trend Micro Cillin as well as Norton 360, I've just recently downloaded Malvare Bytes, and that couldn't find anything as well. I've done a full system scam on both anti-virus programs, i see no viruses. I did get a virus a week ago, but Norton quickly picked it up, I'm thinking it may have changed a few settings in my computer before i managed to delete it.

I used Ultimate Windows Tweaker, and checked "Disable window previews (thumbnails)", and it seemed to work, but now, the peskies are back.
