Sound Icon Disappeared From Taskbar?
Feb 2, 2009My sound icon disappeared from taskbar. When I want to make it visible, I see, that its disabled (gray colour), so I cant change On/Off status.

Safely Remove Icon In Taskbar Disappeared
Jan 29, 2011My safely remove icon in the taskbar disappeared after moving it into the "hidden box" and there seems to be no way to reset it - which is strange because every other taskbar icon can be reset. I got a shortcut to the safely remove dialog window with RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll , but that does not reset the icon. How to get the icon back?

Aug 17, 2011Logged in today and just saw that the battery icon has gone. So now I don't know whether I have full battery or almost gone, apart from the alerts.
I right clicked the the taskbar above the other icons > properties but the power icon is set to off, and the 'off' button is blurred out, so I can't set it back to on. All the other icons are set to 'on', and have the option to be turned off, just the battery one is blocked.

May 18, 2012when I try to open a program It happend when I was associating a blank icon, one like in the photo, with the game it used to be, which I had re-downloaded but the icon showed as if the game was no longer on the computer. When I done this, all of the icons on the screen and on the 'start' screen when you go into 'all programs' turned to the game icon. I then deleted the game and restarted the computer as 'last known good configuration' or something like that and after it took an unusually long time to start up (about seven minutes), all the icons showed up as in the ones shown on the screen shot above.

Sep 17, 2010Basically, all of the icons on my desktop, as well as my entire taskbar, including the windows icon, have disappeared. It happened about 20 minutes ago, when I forced firefox to close via task manager. After I hit End Process, the icons and my taskbar disappeared. I can't right-click my desktop either. However, my desktop background, as well as the toolbar on the top is still there, and all of my programs as well as explorer are accessible. I've done one cold restart, and nothing changed. I've gone into the control panel, but I couldn't access anything associated to the task bar, and my windows key does not work as well.

Then today I unpinned Firefox from there because I wanted to change the icon I was using. On my xp laptop I can left click on the battery in the taskbar and choose always on, presentation, ect.
