Feb 2, 2012I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.

My biggest headache is how to convert files that end in .wps.wdb to something new that I can use.Additionally, I hit a wrong button and now have unintelligent "stuff" on my screen and just hope that all of my files are not similarly affected.

Mar 3, 2012Recently I've changed my OS from XP to Windows 7 64 bit home premiume. with the last OS I used to convert my Flash files (swf) with the software - Amor Swf to Avi or with Adobe flash cs3 by exporting to Avi/mpeg or other codec files. After Ive upgreated to windows 7 this simple converting opperation is failing. I thought the peoblem were with lack of codecs so i've downloaded K-lite Pack - but it didn't help. I've tried another convert software and still no luck.

When I open these files and try to update them I get the message that Sigil files can't be changed. I am sure there is an easy way to get rid of this identification as Sigil. As a matter of fact many of the files were created before I had Sigil. It just took over my txt files. It is NOT a question of the extension. They all have the .txt extension.

But if you're like me, and you are an admin who is using zipping to archive up logs, but then must occasionally go back and search within those logs for text strings, the Windows Search function does not help you.

Simply download and install WinRAR, and then follow the instructions found in that link to search within (even nested zips) for text strings in order to find the correct file you are looking for to open.

Mar 3, 2011Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.
