Cant Uninstall A Program On Windows 7 Windows Installer
May 7, 2011
I'm having problems with my Windows Installer. I have been to the forum here and have tried the various options discussed. When I look at "services" I found the Windows Installer on "manual" and "stopped." I clicked the "Start button and received this error message: "WINDOWS COULD NOT START THE WINDOWS INSTALLER SERVICE ON LOCAL COMPUTER. ERROR 2: THE SYSTEM COULD NOT FIND THE FILE SPECIFIED."
I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet and whenever I try to draw online, it uses the Windows 7 Tablet input. I'm unable to make quick marks due to the "flick" and if I hold the pen down for too long, the cursor will spin in a circle and a pop up box will appear, kind of like a right-click. I'd like to turn all of this off- everything that has to do with the tablet that was already installed on the computer, except for the basic Bamboo Driver.
I have Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. I have a retail management program that I began running in XP Mode because of hardware compatibility in Windows 7 with the receipt printer, card scanner, etc. I have recently purchased new hardware that is Windows 7 compatible and need to now move from the XP Mode environment to only Windows 7. My software vendor will not provide support as long as I'm running the software in XP Mode and we, unfortunately are in need of their support at the moment. I am just wanting to verify that all I need to do is to uninstall the software while in XP Mode from the Control Panel - after I back up the database of course - and then simply install the software in Windows 7. Is that correct? Will I also need to uninstall the virtual machine since the retail software is the only program we were utilizing the VM for?
I don't know if this is beloning to "Driver" or to "software" so I will write it here.
I'm trying to install SPTD v. 1.58 or v.1.59. It says it installs allright, and that it needs to reboot the PC, but after reboot nothing has been installed. I have tried to run the installer as Admin, but same result. AFAIR sptd should show up in Devicemanager when selecting "show hidden devices" in the "non plug-and-play" array. But no. And if I run the installer again, it says that there is no earlier version to uninstall, will I like to install? But it won't work.
I have tried to shut Avast down, so no program should holding SPTD up, but no luck. Where do I look for this error?
I am not sure how a program called Eraser Project ended up on my computer, but I want to uninstall it. However, it will not let me uninstall. The program is Eraser.
I did a system restore to reinstall a program that I had uninstalled. It did not work. For some reason the program was only half heartedly removed, it was still on my PC but fragmented. So I decided to completely uninstall it...however, I cannot. When I click uninstall it tells me this error that it can't find some uninstall file in my appdata folder. The setup.exe for that program also tells me the same thing. So now I cannot reinstall it because I can't uninstall it in the first place! How can I force uninstall it?
I want to uninstall DivX Plus media player but it doesn't show up on the Windows Programs list nor does it appear in the programs list of Revo Uninstaller. It has been installed in the Program Data>DivX folder. Can I just delete DivX file?
So I've been trying to uninstall a program off of my programs list and it continues to tell me that I am unable to do so because I am not the administrator. My account on my computer is the administrator account and it is the only account on my computer. This is the message it keeps telling me, "You must be an Administrator to remove the application. To remove the application you can log on to an Administrator account or contact your technical support group for assistance." I don't understand why it keeps telling me this because I am the administrator for my computer. I don't know how to go about approaching this problem and fixing it so any.

A program that I am familiar with that affects performance consuming at least half of CPU does not appear in the programs that can be uninstalled. I know it is there because it does show in the downloads located in the start menu. This program creeps in when you download certain programs from the internet such as toolbars if you do not uncheck them. I am usually careful about any downloads but since I enrolled in an on-line college course for my bachelor's certain programs do need to be downloaded.

I have the game Oblivion and it's not saying there is a size while as Network Magic is 32.6 GB which is HUGELY wrong for it's only a couple of MB. registrey key and stuff because I dont know how to access this. So, I restarted computer and everything but it's still wrong.
My computer claims a file does not exist when I try to uninstall an unwanted program from my computer. How do I change this, so that I can uninstall an unwanted program?
The program in question was stored in drive D which is a partition of my main drive. Even CC cleaner cant even find the program. So how do I get rid of the program? I can't just delete it to free up space cant i?

Ever since I removed some malware I cannot run a program that is vital to my job. It tries to do a software update (which it does periodically) and encounters this error: "Message 0x1047 in SUBVMCHK Another application is in the process of updating. Please wait while this update completes." I click ok and the program shuts down. I cannot uninstall the program (I get error 1060). Is there a registry key missing? Earliest system restore does not work.
I have 2 dell laptops running off the same router and have been working fine for the last 6 months. One of the laptops has all of a sudden switched to saying limited access on the proset icon. After reading threads etc. I have re booted the laptop & router, tried connected by wire with no avail. The machine is running very slow and I am wondering if this isn't the only fault. As I wanted to try re installing the wireless driver but I cannot get onto the uninstall a program window - it just doesn't load.
I am trying to uninstall a program called PaperPort Image Printer 64 bit. When I press the uninstall button, I get a message saying "The System Administrator has set policies which prevent this installation". Then I get "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall PaperPort Image Printer 64 bit. Please contact your administator. I am the only user and have administrator rights. I created a new user with administartor rights and it could not uninstall the program either. How do I get the rights so I can uninstall?
I am unable to open "Uninstall a program" through control panel. Every time when I try to open it, I get the following error message"
"Windows cannot find '::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}...:{7B81BE6A-CE2B-4676-A29E-EB907A5126C5}' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again".
However, I can open this in safe mode. Unsure why this is the case. I use Win 7 64bit.

I have installed Win 7 x64. I suspect I have inadvertently deleted part of the Win Installer 5.0. It is not available as a separate download (only 4.5). I have been stuffing around for several days and have tried many, many things all to no avail. So, the installer could be in quite an indeterminate state.Every time I try to install software (say Office or even the OS) the installation simply fails with setup has encountered n error after a few seconds.I have backups from a month ago, but am unsure whether these had the problem. Is there some way I can reinstall the Win 7 Win Installer 5.0.Also in the services there was a Windows installer service, now there is an Instalator Windows service.

I contacted hp, but they were unable to help me. I am also having trouble installing updates from Adobe.
