View 1 RepliesI'm trying to cut back on programs installed to my SSD boot drive. However, almost everything is installed there. Even if I download and install from my HHD storage drive.(Google Chrome, Picasa, Java, Steam etc.). WIN 7 OS - Corsair 115GB SSD - WD 1TB HDD Storage.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI used System Restore, didn't like what it did, so I undid the restore. But now ANY program I try to run that isn't part of windows says "(program) can not run because LPK.dll is missing." Something along those lines. Now I've read up on lpk.dll so I tried replacing the file with a newly downloaded one. Guess what? Need permission even though I'm the highest in admin rights. So I tried safe mode with command prompt. Guess what? Access is denied. I CAN NOT replace lpk.dll. Secondly, as I said, NO programs work. So if I try to use a program to fix the problem automatically, it doesn't work because of lpk.dll. If I try to use a program to stop the access is denied stuff, it doesn't work. I need a way I can FORCE the system into replacing the file. Otherwise there's no way I will ever be able to use my computer again (besides reinstalling the OS).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a game that I didn't like so i wanted to uninstall it but if needed me to upgrade something which I didn't want to do, so I removed the game manually. Most of the time if I choose to uninstall the game after removing the game manually it just gives me an error and asks me if I want to remove it from the list. This time however, it didn't. It tried to uninstall it but gave me a different error telling me that something is missing and it can't uninstall the game. It doesn't remove the Programs list.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a system restore to reinstall a program that I had uninstalled. It did not work. For some reason the program was only half heartedly removed, it was still on my PC but fragmented. So I decided to completely uninstall it...however, I cannot. When I click uninstall it tells me this error that it can't find some uninstall file in my appdata folder. The setup.exe for that program also tells me the same thing. So now I cannot reinstall it because I can't uninstall it in the first place! How can I force uninstall it?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I've been trying to uninstall a program off of my programs list and it continues to tell me that I am unable to do so because I am not the administrator. My account on my computer is the administrator account and it is the only account on my computer. This is the message it keeps telling me, "You must be an Administrator to remove the application. To remove the application you can log on to an Administrator account or contact your technical support group for assistance." I don't understand why it keeps telling me this because I am the administrator for my computer. I don't know how to go about approaching this problem and fixing it so any.

A program that I am familiar with that affects performance consuming at least half of CPU does not appear in the programs that can be uninstalled. I know it is there because it does show in the downloads located in the start menu. This program creeps in when you download certain programs from the internet such as toolbars if you do not uncheck them. I am usually careful about any downloads but since I enrolled in an on-line college course for my bachelor's certain programs do need to be downloaded.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know where this error hs_err_pid came from.I closed down explorer and there were all this notepad messages on my desktop and I can't get rid of them. Researching, I know this is a Java thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail. My windows update is fully updated.I've run 3 virus programs.I notice this was addressed for someone using XP but what of Windows 7? My add/remove program file only contines the program Java (TM) update 29. Nothing else is listed as far as Java is concerned.I've run cleaner programs and these did not take care of the problem. Every time I restart my machine these errors immediate pop up at start up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using a program called Raw Therapee. I downloaded a new version and on installing it quit saying the old version must be removed. I could not find it listed in Revo Unistaller Pro, so I did a forced uninstall with the location of the main executable. This removed a lot of stuff. I checked the program folder and the folder and many files were still there, so I deleted them. I did a CCleaner in between and after. I then unhide and show system files and deleted the folders in the Appdata of main user and admin account, couldn't find it anywhere else.
CCleaner again and reboot. Went to install the new version again and it claimed that the old version was still installed. I did a search for *aw The* and found an entry in the hidden Program Data Folder. In the Admin account it will not let me in this folder to delete any remnants of the old version of Raw Therapee.
I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet and whenever I try to draw online, it uses the Windows 7 Tablet input. I'm unable to make quick marks due to the "flick" and if I hold the pen down for too long, the cursor will spin in a circle and a pop up box will appear, kind of like a right-click. I'd like to turn all of this off- everything that has to do with the tablet that was already installed on the computer, except for the basic Bamboo Driver.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. I have a retail management program that I began running in XP Mode because of hardware compatibility in Windows 7 with the receipt printer, card scanner, etc. I have recently purchased new hardware that is Windows 7 compatible and need to now move from the XP Mode environment to only Windows 7. My software vendor will not provide support as long as I'm running the software in XP Mode and we, unfortunately are in need of their support at the moment. I am just wanting to verify that all I need to do is to uninstall the software while in XP Mode from the Control Panel - after I back up the database of course - and then simply install the software in Windows 7. Is that correct? Will I also need to uninstall the virtual machine since the retail software is the only program we were utilizing the VM for?
