I am running Windows Enterprise x64 bit and I can not view any video in any browserThis started a few days ago. I have uninstalled everything Adobe and reinstalled it according to the instruction; three times. I have tried everything that I can think of and still I can not view any video. Videos that I have stored on my hard drive work fine. It is only in the browser. I use Mozilla Firefox, but I have tried it in Google and IE.
View 5 RepliesI reckon that I must have changed some setting somewhere - when viewing websites (in Firefox or explorer), all websites seem to have lost their formatting - they are white with few graphics, and plain boxes around text. What needs to be changed to get this back to normal web viewing? Also, even if I try to change the theme through the control panel, there is no change to anything other than the desktop image. The appearance of the windows stays the same ugly chrome colour! I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Envy laptop...
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have bought this notebook for 1 month. my computer will show me a black screen and completely freezes when i play video on browser -Internet (chrome, firefox, etc), however not always. but when i play video video on media player classic, windows media player, thats works fine.it does not happen everytime. sometimes i can go by days without any problems, sometimes i have it several times a day. the only constant is that it happen when play video on browser.

I can watch a video online, as in through a browser and it looks great. But when I play back a video locally from my hard drive it is all blurry and not sharp.I have VLC media player installed. Maybe this has messed with codecs or something?It plays crappy in both VLC and media player in windows 7.How can I get my videos look right again?

The problem is ,When I open any media file be it any video or mp3 on my laptop..the media player or any other player lets say realplayer crashes or gives and error saying "encountered some problem ".And at the same the same time can't play any video or audio on any of my browser and browser crashes . System Restore solves the problem and brings everything back to normal.BUT then again in a day or two,the problem comes back and I have to restore again.I have done System Restore 6 times so far.and yet again the problem has showed up again and not allowing me to do anything except simple browsing without any audio or video.
View 7 Replies View Relatedthe video playback in browser, every browser, using flash plugin [e.g. Internet, dailymotion, etc.] plays smoothly but freezes for a second or two every once in a while. this happens during full screen playback as well as windowed one.i also have a problem getting smooth playback using windowed mode of subedit player [i translate stuff so need this player feature, can't replace it for media player classic], even though full screen playback is just fine. same clips playback perfectly in mpc, vlc and other players. i guess the problem is somehow connected with the player, although my colleagues didn't experience this problem, neither did they experience choppy flash playback.i'm using 190.38_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql as drivers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded K Lite Codec after reading that that's what I need to make Windows Media Player play .MOV files.
It didn't work. I still got a "Codec Needed" error.
So I searched online again, and found Quicktime Alternative 322, and although installing that "successfully" the software still won't play the files.
I have had a lot of trouble with Windows 7 putting drivers/ codecs in strange places, and having to go online and find laborious instructions of how to locate them and transfer them to the correct location.
I am seriously wishing I had asked for an XP machine to be built. I have had to buy a new printer despite my old two working perfectly on my XP PC. Then it took two days to get my mobile phone's software working on Windows 7, and now to cap it all, I cannot watch any of the videos from my main Olympus camera, nor hear videos from my mobile phone.
my computer did have BSOD problem since I've tried to add 2 GB of RAM on my Windows XP SP 3 on October 2011. BSOD came out after playing a game for 6-30 minutes (or game application crashed) or viewing a video (random occurence). After getting no results of all to cure BSOD, I decided to change my OS to Windows 7 and I still got this problem. I've tried to bring my CPU to service center with no luck at all.
Here, I attached my recent dump and perfmon report with it. Although a few hours before I post this thread, I cleaned earlier dumps with CCleaner. I'll be sure to attach new dump and report if another BSOD occurs. And let me know if my attached files get corrupted or cannot be read. Attachment 214777 Attachment 214778
Oh yeah, another thing, my antivirus scanner detected BSOD & System File Collection app as a virus, so I ignored it.

I have an MS windows 7 64 bit system. I used CCleaner to clean the registry but did not backup the changes. I have lost my media and video thumbnail view for my movie files with an avi extension. I use both winamp and a VLC media player to play my movies and tv programs.Could the registry cleaning have changed something and is there a way to get the thumbnails back?

It appears that the "Thumbnails" (picture) option has been eliminated from the video files "View" menu options, so I can no longer see a pictorial snapshot of the contents of my video files.
Is this option completely eliminated or is there something I can do to retrieve this feature for Windows 7?
I am having a problem downloading the latest version of flash player. It appears to download but afterward when I try to play something that requires flashplayer I get the "you must download the latest version of flash player to view this video".

Win 7 does not do this.much prefer "List" view, but the only way to change it is folder-by-folder which becomes aggravating after several dozen folder changes.Plus, once you have changed the file view inside of a folder to "List" view... if you change the folder name, every file and folder, no matter how deep, inside that re-named folder will return to "Details" view.hat a PITA...I have Googled this and searched for some time, but have come up with no answer, I thought I might ask the folks at Tom's and see what we come up with.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have AVS Video Converter and what I'm trying to do is download 1920x1080 (I don't want 720p) video clips, converting them from mp4 to wmv and setting them as my desktop background. I use this converter because it is the first converter I tried that gives me lossless conversion to wmv. My screen resolution is 1280x800.I use the 1920x1080 video and leave all the settings except for aspect ratio which I set to 16:9 and the resolution to encode the video at 1280x800.When I set it as my desktop background, the video is still 1920x1080 and if you compare the original to the desktop background, the video is "protruding" from the screen, so I can't see some areas.I've tried setting windows background to center, tile and all options but still nothing.

However,the browser works fine, and unless i exit it,i cannot click on anywhere else but the browser or my computer hangs and everything stops responding,even the task manager.This problem occurs in google chrome as well as internet explorer,so i doubt it is a browser problem.I have never experienced such a problem with any system i have used so far,nor have i seen anyone experiencing it,so i am really confused as to what might be causing this.
