I am running windows 7 Home 32bit. My Laptop is Samsung r530. The Video driver (Mobile intel 4 series 8.15.10.2302) has been repeatidly crashing since last month or so. I have just updated it as well but the problem is still there. The BSOD occurs from few minutes to several hours after booting.(NOTE: I haven't reinstalled the windows since last 1.5 years and it is the same OEM windows that came with the laptop.
My monitor displays this image every now and then "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Display Driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 301.42 stopped responding and has successfully recovered." For some reason it gets worse and worse. At a certain point it just freezes. I got this video card only a few months ago so I doubt that it's about to die. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it.
i'm having some trouble with my display driver crashing when video files are played. sometimes the driver recovers, but other times it ends with a bsod.i am running windows 7 x64, 4gb ram and a ati radeon hd5870 with up-to-date drivers the driver crashes when
- an embedded video, such as on Internet, attempts to play
- during the windows experience index tests (fails during video processing)
- playback of some video files in windows media player (error message states not enough memory)
the video files in the windows/performance/winsat folder for example don't all crash.these all crash in wmp:
this doesn't:clip_1080_5sec_10mbps_h264 they all play in powerdvd 8 and quicktime.the bsod log's also point to one particular driver, dxgkrnl.sys the ati driver is up-to-date and i've tried updating directx as well. even tried reinstalling the os over the top of the existing installation.
I've got Nvidia 8400GS graphic card and its latest driver, version 306.1. after installing windows 7 on my system, the driver keeps on crashing again and again after some time, when a video is played. after a few seconds a message on the task bar occurs saying that the system has recovered.
I apologize in advance if my post is missing any information; I attempted to follow the directions for properly posting but while I'm am computer functional, I'm not overly computer literate. [code] The system constantly crashes when playing video games and games consistently lag. We have completely re-installed the OS and replaced all parts in the PC at least twice. When the system crashes the speakers buzz loudly, although sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the computer itself. We switched from Nvidia because everything has checked out and it was hoped that the problem was the hardware not playing nice to no avail. I'm still getting the same error/crash. Recently started having an issue where once windows login screen comes up I can hear beeping coming from my case. Then once I try to login I can hear hard drive try to spin up and system will freeze every time I hear hard drive spin up (every 5-15 seconds) during login. Sometimes this persists, sometimes it goes away within a few minutes and the system runs fine but I can still hear beeping from inside the case. Other times I get either a complete lockup, a BSOD, or the computer restarts itself without any warning.
I don't have any of these issues until I install graphics drivers.
-I've tried testing memory in windows memory diagnostics w/ 4 passes it came back w/ no errors. -I tried a clean install which runs fine until I install graphics drivers(I've tried multiple different versions all have the same issue) -I tried installing a new hard drive but am still having the same issues.
I've tried to listen where the beeping is coming from but I'm having a hard time isolating it. It's fairly short, rapid and somewhat faint.

Periodically my screen will freeze and I will get a message that says display driver stopped working and recovered. However, sometimes my computer will resume being normal...and other times my screen will be totally disconfigured, jumbled...and messed up and I have to force shut down. Also periodically when I do restart my computer, there would be bluish streaks and $ signs all jumbled across the black screen before it says windows is starting up. When I am in safe mode, none of these problems occur. My operating system is windows 7. Because sometimes my display driver recovers when I tilt my computer a certain way when it seems to "crash" and the fact that this problem doesn't even occur in safe mode.
Most time when I go onto a game for some reason half way through the playing time the display driver stops working the screen just goes all fuzzy and the sound just glitches...
EventLogError: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. I am on the latest drivers for my GTX 470...

I have Asus 4550 video card The drivers are crashing in MCE very frequently ( Black screen and then BSOD and instant reboot so I can't even read the error) I tried driver that was optional in Windows 7 update, Catalyst 8.12, 9.1 and Windows 7 beta - they all behave the same way .
for about 2 months now my display driver is constantly crashing. I have to boot up in safe mode to stop the worries of the crashing. What'll happen is, I'll be doing something simple, possibly even playing a low graphic game such a Minecraft oropening a .txt file, and the screen will freeze and start flickering black. It'll come back to the desktop and say something along the lines of "Realtek Display Driver has crashed and successfully recovered." Yes, it's recovered, yayy, but no about 10 seconds later it'll keep crashing, until the extent of where the screen just is stuck on a black screen. I'm really getting angered by this, if any help can be provided, please post below.
I have three pcs installed with windows7 sucessfully. I love the operating system.
My laptop is having issues with my 9600 m GT 512 video card..windows update will not find my video card like it does on all my other systems .. 186.81 is the version I have attempted to use from the nvidia webpage... windows reboots saying it had a problem booting and it will attempt to resolve the problem... I have to use system restore after each time I install these drivers... anyone else having an issue like this? Is there a solution to this problem?
Just arrived home from a trip to find that my computer is not working, constant crashing apparently caused by a failure of the display driver, after doing some research i think that some of my hardware has become faulty, the crashing is constant so i cannot really troubleshoot anything.
recently updated from 306.97 due to a bsod. updated to 310.90 and another bsod occured several hours later. noticed that gpu temps were reaching 85-90c during high load. 40-45c during idle. wondering if it could be a temp issue.
I bought the HD Radeon 7870 DD a few weeks ago, and i've been having a very frustrating problem. I will be playing a game, any game (not a high end game) and the screen will freeze, go black, and then come back on with the message on the lines of "Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered"?
So i've had my computer for about 6 months now and everything is great apart from the fact it crashes at least twice a day.I suspect it to be my Tascam US-800 soundcard driver as it has always given me problems. When i had it installed before it use to crash if i was uploading anything to the internet or even surfing the web!Since downloading a new update that all stopped. However, now if i am watching a movie on my computer or listening to music for about an hour, the sound cuts out. If i try to restart the comp from the start menu nothing happens, no matter how many time i click restart and i have to forcefully restart the comp.Sometimes the screen just blacks out so i cant get to the restart button.I'm pretty sure it's the sound card driver but the only thing that is making me think twice is that when i am producing music on Cubase, which is 90% of the time, everything runs smoothly - not even 1 error. Is there any way to see what is causing these crashes?
well i searched past threads but couldnt find what i was looking for. i have already downloaded the audio driver for my dell d600 but i have been unable to find the video driver. not sure if it is relevant but the laptop will play downloaded videos.
I am not sure if I can still fix this but I am trying not to lost hope here. This started when I upgrade my professional XP to windows7 Ultimate. I was able to use it for at least 3 months with no issue but then my computer crashed. I decided not to use windows7 anymore and then installed back my XP professional but even I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the XP os, my computer tends to use the generic driver of the video card. It will not detect now my monitor driver as well. I still have all th cd drivers but my computer always tells me it can't locate the driver. Should I replace or buy a new video card or is it my monitor driver that is damaged?
I've installed the lastest leaked version of windows and am having problems with the video drivers.
I'm running a 3 year old Asus laptop, W3000 series and can't get the screen res above 1024x768, I've tried lastest ATI vista drivers and the ATI windows 7 pre-release driver without luck.
Will have to put vista!! back if I can't get this sorted. It runs very quick now.
When I first installed the OS I used windows update in order to install a driver for my vid card. I am now trying to use a driver from nvidia. I go through the entire process of installation smoothly, restart, but when I go back into the device manager the same microsoft driver is there.
I'm trying to play World of Warcraft on an old laptop I have. I've been told to update my video drivers but I've been searching for some hours but can't find them anywhere. The laptop is an IBM ThinkPad T42 running Windows 7 32bit. If any more information is needed, please reply to the thread and I'll answer asap.
I have just assembled a Tiger Direct barebones kit with Win 7 64 bit home premium.
ASUS motherboard with onboard ATI graphics, and a Radeon HD 4350 graphics card to boost graphics performance. The machine tends to shut down with a BSOD which provides this error message.
I can't access the two help files--not sure what to use to open the .dmp file--I don't see a Windows 7 version of software to open than, and while I am the administrator for the machine under my own login, I'm told I don't have admin rights and need permission to open the file. I reviewed the permissions and don't see any more I can have, so I'm perplexed.
At the same time, my tech friends suggest my problem is likely to be a driver conflict between the onboard and the video card and I should work on resolving this. When I check DM the Radeon video card shows no conflicts and says it's working correctly.
In the meantime, my digital monitor works on the analog video outputs both from the motherboard and the graphics card, but neither DVI output works. I've got the latest available drivers for the Radeon card and the Windows 7 check for Samsung drivers says the PnP driver is the latest available. Samsung shows no new drivers for Windows 7.
I just got Diablo II and I just bought a new laptop and it is running Windows 7 64 bit and everything runs fine but the colors in the game are all messed up. Like rainbowy. I downloaded the latest patch as well.
i have just installed windows 7 on my hcl me laptop but no video is working. there is just audio and no video. though Internet is working. i don't seem to get whats wrong
So I had several video crashes over the last few days so I decided download updated drivers for my x5850. Running windows 7/64 on a quad core i750. AMD drivers site says this is a legacy device. It also shows "vista" and the wrong part numbers so their site is messed up (using pull down menu's I selected my gear/OS) and yet it refers me to drivers for a device thats about 7 years old, instead of the one I actually requested for
i was playing a game in google chrome and also had a Internet video open in another tab. suddenly my screen went black, windows aero effects were off for a few seconds, then they went back up. white bars started to appear randomly on the screen, an error popped up that the video driver had crashed. after a couple of seconds it looked like it was getting back but then the screen went black again and the bsod appeared.
