So i have a new SSD Corsair Force 3 240 gig and all I want to do is install Windows 7 Pro on it. This board does not support parted magic (cannot wake from sleep and there are no onboard video to wake up to) so ive resorted to clean all.I have not been able to successfully boot the OS on the SSD. I never intended on setting up raid but apparently all the literature i see is on raid. I created a USB install disk as reccomended onto a 8gig ntfs primary active did the bootsect /nt60 X: and it successfully worked copied the cd over to the flash drive and copied the rste drivers in a folder called drivers My SSD is installed on port 1 6gig sata intel (as this board doesnt have marvel apparrently) My DVD is installed on 3gig Sata port 6 I set up Raid in the bios as reccomended by others (as this is the only way to install ssd?).
Nothing UEFI is enabled There are no other drives hooked up to the computer. Just SSD, USB cordless mouse, keyboard and no network cord or WIFI i started with a clean ssd as reccomended my bios recognized the ssd on post i booted into the win 7 install (MBR not uefi) i loaded the 64 bit rste drivers from asus as reccomended by others i left the machine to install the usb then booted into windows install (for whatever reason) i pushed f8 to boot my corsair windows brings up an error on a black screen File: windows/system32/drivers/adpahci.sys driver did not load Status: oxc0000221 Info: Windows Failed to load because of a critical system driver is missing or corrupt

My new asus p8z68-pro mobo runs everything just fine in the bios -- it detects all the relevant drives, my USB peripherals are working, etc. When I try to install Windows, however, I run into a problem. As soon as the installation files load off of the DVD and the installation begins my USB devices shut down. This means, of course, no keyboard or mouse to proceed with the install, so I'm stuck.I checked in the bios -- both the usb legacy support and the usb 3.0 legacy support are turned on. I have tried this with the EHCI hand-off both on and off. Either way, I run into the same problem. I've even swapped out my fancier mouse and keyboard for simpler models to see if it was some sort of driver issue, but nothing seems to make a difference.

Client of mine has bought his notebook ASUS U31S with external DVD drive yesterday and he asked me to install windows 7 ultimate (origin was windows 7 home edition) beside other operating system Linux and Solaris.
I divided the 500 GB hard disk but didn't touch the hidden partition that has recovery.
I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name , password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation.
Although I have used the same widnows 7 CD for his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem.
I tried different media same problem. This laptop does have an external DVD driv, of course it is an LG and brand new

I have an Eee 1000HE.
I used to be able to install Windows 7 Betas just fine, but now when I went to go install the latest build 7057, it gets up to the Copying Files section, then jumps straight to 100%, then goes into Expanding Files, then comes up with an error about not being able to find the files!
I tried reverting to a previous beta that I knew worked, same problem.
I tried reformatting (through Ubuntu) and still can't get it to work!
Anyone else have this kind of a situation?
EDIT: I'm using a IDE -> USB Adaptor, tried two different DVD drives, same result.
I would LOVE to have Windows 7 on my Eee, but it just won't work!

I have a computer I built using an ASUS MB A8N-SLI Premium card. This card is a was purchased in 2007 and is one having two RAID chipsets. The first is a NVIDA and the second is a Silicon Image. The OS was XP Professional.
When I set up to install Windows 7 Professional Upgrade, I found that a) there were no ASUS drivers for Windows 7 and the "generic" Nvida and SII Raid drivers would not work with this ASUS card. So, says I, lets try and see if the VISTA drivers will be accepted by Windows 7... Nope.. Win 7 error says "can't find any drivers compatible with your hardware". OK.. So..
I have to buy a completely new motherboard.. I chose the Gigabyte MA790GPT-UD3H with AMD Phenom II Quad-Core 3ghz CPU. The M B is excellent with dual output video for two CRTs, and all the I/O I needed including IEEE1394 port for my FlexRadio.. But I get ahead of myself! So.. Let the buyer of Windows 7 be aware that he should check his MB and insure that Windows 7 drivers are available for his particular model. Otherwise, upgrading to Windows 7 can be more expensive than you planned!

Well this computer is brand new its supposed to have windows 7 its a Eee PC. A message pops up saying The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.as far as I know new programs were not added and the installation was completed the first time. I already tried safe mode but it does not allow me.
P.S. its the mini so it has no cd rom to insert the cd and it did not come with a cd.

Since couple of weeks ago my computer started shutting down unexpectedly which it was OK with me since it wasn't doing it often and I was able to use my computer... My issue now is that now my PC is restarting itself, sometime it lets me get to the desktop but now its just restarting when it get to the "starting windows" screen. I was able to get into the PC today again and it gave me time to go into windows and grab the "minidump" file.

A laptop of mine contracted a virus, and installed a fake antivirus program. I was able to uninstall the fake antivirus, but now I have another problem. Every time I turn on / restart the laptop, I get the message "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute, please save your work now". The laptop then restarts, ad infinitum. Now, having done a quick google search, I see lots of reccommendations involving either going into Safe Mode or using the Advanced Boot Options. Problem is, I can't get the F8 menu screen to come up on the problem laptop. I have another laptop of the exact same model - this one is uninfected and I can get the F8 menu up just fine, so it's nothing to do with me mis-timing pushing the button. I have tried going into Safe Mode via the Boot options in msconfig, but alas I get the same error message in Safe Mode, too, and again my computer is forced to restart.

I recently built a computer with the following specs
[code]...
I know that this subject has been brought up a few times, but nothing seems to work for me. My power supply is a Corsair 650w, is that the problem? The person who sold me the parts told me that it should work.I have checked the software and it does not seem like the problem. My computer restarts every hour or so, there is no warning before the restart nor any thing after the restart, its really starting to annoy me.

I recently upgraded our old computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 Professional. It wouldn't boot from the CD to install for some strange reason so I put the hard drive in my computer and installed it from there. After it installed, I put the HDD back into the old computer and tried to boot it. Everything works fine until it says "Starting Windows". After displaying that message for about 5 seconds it restarts and brings up the choice: Run diagnostics (recommended)Start Windows normally If I choose to start normally, the same thing happens and it restarts again. If I run diagnostics it says the issue cannot be automatically repaired. The strange thing is that it will boot perfectly fine on my computer (if I put the HDD in), but cannot boot on the old one. Also, the same Windows 7 works on my computer.

I am currently experiencing consistent restarting of Windows Explorer on my PC. To find out the error which is causing this, I need to access task manager, which is also unavailable (greyed out when I right click on the task bar). By accessing the task manager, I hoped to stop the windows explorer process.

[code] I've newly installed Windows 7 and updated SP1 and other updates via windows update. Everything was working find until the explorer restarted and continued. I restarted PC to see if it will be solved but didn't. I've tried restarting with various services other than that of Microsoft disabled and even unistalled some programs like Norton 360 but didn't solve the problem. The explorer.exe keeps on restarting again and again. However, no such problem exits while running in safe mode. Reinstalling windows is my last option.

[code] I just updated my motherboard, cpu, and ram to the above parts, and am having a hard time doing a clean install of W7. I think I probably could have just used my previous W7 after updating those parts, but I just wanted to do a clean install to start fresh. So I have other hard drives, but disconnected them to simplify things leaving just my SSD to have the OS installed. I have the BIOS settings all at default, and the board is W7 ready and shouldn't need an update I don't think because it's fairly new.I have my boot priority as my SSD first. And then when it boots up, I press F8 and manually select the USB drive I am using to install my W7 (I have used this USB before and the W7 on it is legit, not pirated). Once it loads, I select the SSD, erase everything on it so it is "unallocated space", and then proceed to where it starts copying W7 files and then it RESTARTS instead of installing! I tried the exact same procedure multiple times to make sure I wasn't crazy and sometimes it would RESTART when I pressed proceed to install (before I even got to the screen to select the desired harddrive to install W7 on). I have also tried using a freshly burned DVD of the same W7 image and it yields the same results. Once it restarts, it I don't press F8 it goes to a screen where it says "BOOTMGR IS MISSING", which I assume means there's nothing bootable on my SSD. I should also mention when I select the USB or DVD manually after pressing F8 to select the boot device, if I wait long enough at the "press any key" screen, the "BOOTMGR IS MISSING" shows up there too. I don't know why. But if press a key before that shows up, I can consistently get to the W7 installation screen. I tried looking that the "repair" option on the W7 installation but I think thats more for fixing current installations. Does anybody have any suggestions on whats making installing W7 so difficult, creating this endless loop of restarts?

My computer started restarting randomly about 2 weeks ago and this problem is getting more frequent now. I don't get any BSOD and the event viewer will log only "Event ID 41 - Kernel-Power". My computer just turn off as if I had a power-loss and then turn on again. The strange is that it's totally random. I can play games for more than 2 hours ou run a stress test for 3 hours without restarting but I can turn on the computer and when browsing the internet for 5 minutes it will restart. I have made a lot of research on the internet but didn't any relevant information but a PSU problem.
