Acer Aspire Z5610, Cannot Load Operating System From DVD
Dec 4, 2011I have recently purchased an Acer Aspire Z5610 it is a second user buy.Straight away i noticed that it just wasnt working right which is half to be expected im sure when buying second user equipment. After doing some research on forums i came to the conclusion of erasing the C drive and reloading the OS with the system restore disc i created on the computer.I was getting all the way through and it was failing and suggested that there was a fault on the memory disc. Ive managed to get into the back of the computer and removed the RAM sticks and tried loading with just 1 and with both and all the different combinations of being in different ports. Now it gets to 2% and just stops loading altogether its just sticks at wherever its stopped.

May 18, 2011So i would like to buy a whole new computer. but i want to keep the operating system which is windows 7 professional. It's installed on the hard drives as raid 5. now i know that the raid key or whatever it's called is stored int he bios so just plugging the hard drives into a motherboard that supports raid 5 won't work. So what can i do to install everything that i have on these hard drives into a new system? Also the operating system is registered online would i be able to re register it or something? i don't have the new computer yet i'm just looking around for something good and for a good deal.

Once formatted, I installed all the drivers, utilities for my motherboard and graphics card.I now have no sound, even though the RealTek audio driver is installed.I have gone into 'device manager' right clicked to check for updates and Windows advise me that my drivers are up to date.There is an 'x' on my audio icon stating "No Speakers or Headphones are plugged in" and i know my speakers are plugged in and working as i tested them on my ipod. My PC is recognising the input jack, as a window pops up.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on an Acer Aspire 4935G laptop.
Acer Aspire 3690 W/ Conexant: "No Audio Output Device Is Installed"
Nov 5, 2011I recently upgraded an Acer Aspire 3690 to Windows 7 (32bit) and everything went well, almost. See, for life of me I can't get audio to work. (That old chestnut.) The speaker icon in the notification area displays the white cross/red circle and informs me that "No Audio Output Device is installed". Fine. Okay. Just a driver problem, right?
Well, Device Manager is showing no discrepancies and the two devices associated with the Aspire's audio chipset (Conexant) are installed and happy (Modems/HDA CX11270 Soft Modem, and System devices/High Definition Audio Controller). But there is no entry for Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and that's what concerns me. Acer's driver support page for the 3690 tells me that Realtek powers the audio, but regardless of the potentially compatible audio drivers I've tried to install (most of the Conexant drivers fail with "Driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver" and the Realtek drivers either have no effect or BSOD the machine) I've had no success.
Now if I was running XP then MUAA would, I'm convinced, resolve the issue, but as far as Windows 7 is concerned I'm at a loss. Best I figured, the Realtek drivers should latch onto the High Definition Audio Controller then provide an Audio Output Device, but nothing's happening. I'm convinced that the physical hardware's fine because the Soft Modem diagnostics provide feedback, and the BIOS has been updated to 3.60.

Feb 9, 2013I started to do a full system recovery on my son's Acer Aspire 5750z, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit using the (4) Recovery DVD's we made when we bought it. Everything was working fine through the first three discs. I was called away while the third disc was in use (maybe 10 minutes) and when I got back to the machine, the window was up asking me to remove disc 3 and insert disc 4. I did, and in the 4 hours and 15 minutes since then, nothing has happened. The Acer eRecovery Management (v8.3.2) Window is up. Step 5 "Restore Progres" is highlighted. The elapsed time counter is continuing to run (currently at 5 hours 8 minutes and counting), the "Restoring System" bar is full and shows 100%, and the "Updating System" bar is stuck at 2%, which is where it was when I put in the 4th disc. I am tempted to shut down the laptop and start all over again, but I am afraid that it will mess something up if I do..

May 5, 2011When i turn the computer on i get the screen : setup is starting service. Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I have contacted acer they tried to help with the ALT and F12. Nothing I have tried works.. They told me to order the recovery discs for $20.00. I did , and they dont work either... I contacted them back, and now they say to send it back to them and for $199.00 plus shipping, they will repair the computer..I do not have the money for that..I have the the system disc, the 3 recovery disc and the language disc , that I just ordered from Acer for $20.00.

Oct 19, 2011Suddenly my Win 7 Home Premium x64 will not boot. The system starts, POSTs then loads the DVD driver, then the screen goes black (not blank but "lit up" black if that makes sense). Then nothing. If I use Hiren's boot cd I can boot up using the "boot from HDD" option fine and Windows operates normally. System restore to a previous configuration made no difference to the original problem. I cannot boot into Safe Mode. F8 just offers me boot order options.
- Running the Windows 7 DVD I find: "No operating system is listed on the Repair Windows option."
- Running Startup Repair finds the following error: "the partition table does not have a valid system partition" which it claims to have repaired, but the error remains and Windows will still not boot.
I followed this advice:
Boot 7 dvd to system recovery options command prompt. Type: Diskpart
list vol (find the vol letter e.g C or partition number e.g. 1 for the system partition )
Sel vol C ( or sel vol 1, obviously use the correct letter or number)
act exi
My system partition was easily identified and listed as healthy so I selected it and made it active. The problem still remains exactly the same. My system is self built just over a year ago, to my knowledge has been running fine, without any hardware issues. I'm prepared to do a clean install if that's what it takes but if there is a way to fix the partition problem without that I'd like to explore it first.

Aug 4, 2012i recently was using a product called ptedit32. In which i was trying to unhide my pq service to see what was in there. So i changed its boot from hidden to active.(0C was changed to 07) with the other three partitions being 07 as well. This has turned out bad for me now. It seems there is a mbr that is not being recognized. Jun 8, 2012Most desktop monitors, when inactive for periods of time(usually preset in o.s. or altered for individual tastes) saves electricity by powering down the monitor, and let it "sleep", but any programs running on the cpu, continue on, unabated. But with these Acer Aspire All-in-one compters are different, i may be listening to an internet radio station, and even though it's not a computer program running,,after a time of inactivity of my manually working (via my keyboard) or something like that, the screen goes black and it kills the internet connection to the internet radio i am listening to. Yes,,if that happens,,i only have to jiggle or move my mouse to turn the screen back on, but is a real pain to have to continually jar the mouse to keep the radio on. Any ideas on how to avoid this black screen of killing my internet radio, and downloads??or anything going on ,while the screen is active?
