View 2 RepliesI'm running on a relatively new install of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. I recently (about 2-3 weeks ago) installed a new HD and decided to have a fresh start so everything was formatted followed by win 7 install. Everything has been running great up until mid day yesterday. Out of what seems like nowhere I experienced 6 or 7 BSOD's yesterday and from what I could tell they occurred when I tried to do any of the following: 1. Access drive D and play a video file (This is the new HD, it would instantly BSOD). 2. Access internet within 1 minute of startup.
Since yesterday I haven't had any BSOD's and have had the computer running, I haven't tried to play any videos off of HD and haven't reset my computer since (hoping that whatever it was has gone away, although I'm sure it hasn't). For the record I have accessed some music files on drive D without any issue, as well as several word and excel documents (not sure if that makes any difference?)I have a feeling it may have something to do with my new HD that I installed, but have no idea what it could be as it was running without issue up until yesterday (for at least 2 if not 3 weeks).
My system specs are as follows:S: Windows 7 64bit UltimateManufacturer BIOSTAR Group Model A740G M2+ Total amount of system memory 6.00 GB RAMSystem type 64-bit operating system umber of processor cores 2 isk partition (C) 272 GB Free (298 GB Total) isk partition (D) 1630 GB Free (1863 GB Total) isplay adapter type NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 other info:-all drivers should be up to date to the best of my knowledge- i've looked around and have seen a lot of recommendations to run memtest? I have yet to do soI've enclosed a system health report and minidump file as outlined on forum requirements.
I want to buy a Motorola S9-HD for my skype on PC. I want to know if I can use it in Windows 7 RTM.

I have been on the phone with comcast and they have no clue on my issue, they say since these are my modems and not leased ones from them that they will have to charge me if I have a tech out to the house, Why will these computers not grab a dynamic address from the surfboard or comcast.

View 0 Replies View RelatedHopefully someone will be able to help solve this, because I am stumped. I bought a rocketfish USB bluetooth adapter almost a year ago now. I also got a Motorola H15 bluetooth headset at the same time. Everything worked fine in XP and even when I had Windows 7 RC, I used the headset as a mic for ventrillo, teamspeak, etc.
I recently built a new rig a month ago and have Windows 7 ultimate x64 installed.
The USB adapter was installed fine by windows itself and I updated to the newest driver online. I turned the headset on and the adapter found the device. Windows 7 is now asking for a driver in order for the headset to work though. I don't remember it ever doing that before in XP or Windows 7 RC.
Windows 7 can not find a driver for the headset, even if I tell it to look online. I don't think there is even a "driver" for this, because it works off the adapter by pairing it.
any thoughts?
I'm connecting my DVR to my PC but I need the 64 bit driver. I cannot find the driver. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can find this (Motorola does not provide)? I want to be able to transfer recorded shows onto my PC and then convert the shows from the TS file format to a MPEG.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSLB: Motorola RAZR V3 - Vista USB Drivers - & Windows XP 64-bit Install
The installation says It does not recognize my system's operating system, which makes me believe that I'll have to use XP or Vista to charge my cellphone. Does anyone know a way around this, such as maybe running Vista as an emulation to use the correct drivers?
Only other way I can think of doing this would be to fix my first mistake by repartioning the hard drive so I can dual boot Win 7 and Vista (I'm a little impulsive...).
I have a motorola bluetooth headset that can not be detected by the bluetooth manager software. Everytime I try to set up a new connection says device can not be detected. Was working fine with my vista x64.
Is this a common problem with W7.
I have an HP Pavilion DV6700. I am trying to get my Motorola S9 bluetooth headset to play audio. I just installed Windows 7 and the bluetooth drivers won't support audio. It pairs with the headset, but can't find the drivers for the headset. I told it to troubleshoot the problem and it sent me to this link: Broadcom.com - Bluetooth Software Download
I tried to install that driver, but the installation stopped very early giving me a message saying it can't update my bluetooth device. All of my internet searching always leads me back to this being the only solution that is supposed to work.
Has anyone found another way to get audio bluetooth support for windows 7?

I knew how to do this with XP but I can't figure out how to do this with Windows 7. Basically, I don't want the Windows 7/Second HDD interacting with the first.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been running into this problem recently where i cannot access another computers hard drive from windows 7, knowing the username and password. I have tried using "ComputernameUsername" as the user name, along with "Username@computername" to no avail. What is really confusing me, making me wonder if this will work at all, is the fact that windows 7's username prompt specifies a domain. Considering none of my computers are, or have the ability to be, on a domain, this is an odd question to ask. Does anyone have a way around this that doesn't require changing settings on the computer that i need to access?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had two hard drives in a Windows 7 system. One had the operating system and the other was for storage. The storage drive is a a 2 TB drive. I am not sure what format was selected on the hard drive. If this information is needed, I can do so with guidance how to find this information. The 2 TB has a lot of data. The drive was removed. Later the main drive with the operating was formatted, and the 2 TB drive was put back into the computer, but new Windows 7 does not recognize the drive.
I am not sure if Windows 7 updates have been run, so maybe this is a driver issue? I tried to access the drive through Linux, and Linux showed the drive as empty. I am wondering if some weird security feature was enabled? If so, is there any easy way to get the data back? In windows 7 under devise manager, the drives shows up, but I can only see the devise name. I also tried accessing the drive in external case in a Mac Lion System, and could not get the drive to open up.
I have below configuration.

I have recently acquired a new computer with Windows 7. I have email accounts with Tiscali and I access these through Windows Live Mail as Windows 7 doesnt work with Outlook Express. I have set up Windows live and am receiving and sending emails from Tiscali via my Hotmail address with no problems but when the messages are downloaded onto my computer through hotmail they still remain in my inbox on the server at Tiscali. This results in my Tiscali inbox gradually filling up so I have to log into Tiscali at regular intervals and empty it. Is there a way of automatically deleting the emails from my Tiscali inbox once I have downloaded them to the computer via my Hotmail address.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find a solution anywhere but the problem is. I have one central computer with windows 7 on it. When any computer in the house, whether it be my laptop with Vista, my desktop with XP, or my other desktop with Windows 7 connects to that network drive it hangs for a couple minutes before being able to open the file, or copy the file. This happens on all 3 machines accessing the network drive on the central computer. This same result occurred when I setup my other desktop with windows 7 so that makes me think its something with windows 7 itself.I do not have any firewall/antivirus programs installed, and I even turned off windows firewall and windows defender on the server that were all accessing.

If Windows 7 can read the data, would it make sense to back up any files on the system hard disk to the E: drive so I could copy the files back to C: drive after Windows 7 install? All drives are currently NTFS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Pro 64 bits SP1 installed. Here's the deal. My system crashed overnight (no one knows why). When it boots back up, it works fine for a while and then Freezes (no more mouse mouvement, no more num-lock light switching on/off). Windows Event is of course empty. I was able to figure out where the source of the problem is. Seems that the whole Restore Point thing is corrupted. Including the Auto part where once in a while it creates a back-up point during boot up. I have tried in normal mode: Accesing the restore to a previous point through Windows normal mode: Freezes every single time when i hit the configure button to remove the Restore point from my C: Drive. Accessing it through CCLeaner and trying to remove a single Restore Point: Freezes. Accessing it through Disk Cleaner, Delete all the restore points. It works... but never ever delete anything.!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an XP virtual machine running on a 64-bit Win 7 host. I have a home wireless network that I need to access from the XP VM in order to use printers attached to the other computers on the network. All computers currently on the network have the same workgroup name. I have networking on the VM set to use the wireless adapter on the host laptop. With this configuration I can see and access the host, but I cannot see nor access any other computers on the network.
Now, it seems to me that I will need to run the XP Network Wizard to set up the network on the VM before I am able to see the network, but after reading dozens of articles and posts on networking a VM, I have never seen this step mentioned. (I am at work now, so I can't test this out on my network until later.) So, my questions are:
(1) Do I need to run the XP Network wizard to get the VM to join the wireless network, and
(2) if I don't need to run the wizard, what DO I need to do to get this to work?
Since two days ago I cant access internet anymore. Called the provider, they send a tchnician and he told me that its a new problem in a recent (1 week old) version of windows 7.In normal mode I cant acces but in protected mode I can (without all funcionalities). The technician told me to look for a support.
