View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my modem from a ubee to a motorola surfboard SB6141, I have two desktop computers one with windows 7 home premium 64 bit and the other is XP Pro X64 edition plus a toshiba laptop with windows7 home premium 64 bit. the only computer that will get a ip address is my XP desktop and my sons PS3 both windows 7 computers will not grab a ip address from the surfboard. I have been on the phone with comcast and they have no clue on my issue, they say since these are my modems and not leased ones from them that they will have to charge me if I have a tech out to the house, Why will these computers not grab a dynamic address from the surfboard or comcast.

View 0 Replies View RelatedHopefully someone will be able to help solve this, because I am stumped. I bought a rocketfish USB bluetooth adapter almost a year ago now. I also got a Motorola H15 bluetooth headset at the same time. Everything worked fine in XP and even when I had Windows 7 RC, I used the headset as a mic for ventrillo, teamspeak, etc.
I recently built a new rig a month ago and have Windows 7 ultimate x64 installed.
The USB adapter was installed fine by windows itself and I updated to the newest driver online. I turned the headset on and the adapter found the device. Windows 7 is now asking for a driver in order for the headset to work though. I don't remember it ever doing that before in XP or Windows 7 RC.
Windows 7 can not find a driver for the headset, even if I tell it to look online. I don't think there is even a "driver" for this, because it works off the adapter by pairing it.
any thoughts?
I'm connecting my DVR to my PC but I need the 64 bit driver. I cannot find the driver. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can find this (Motorola does not provide)? I want to be able to transfer recorded shows onto my PC and then convert the shows from the TS file format to a MPEG.

The installation says It does not recognize my system's operating system, which makes me believe that I'll have to use XP or Vista to charge my cellphone. Does anyone know a way around this, such as maybe running Vista as an emulation to use the correct drivers?
Only other way I can think of doing this would be to fix my first mistake by repartioning the hard drive so I can dual boot Win 7 and Vista (I'm a little impulsive...).
I have a motorola bluetooth headset that can not be detected by the bluetooth manager software. Everytime I try to set up a new connection says device can not be detected. Was working fine with my vista x64.
Is this a common problem with W7.
I have an HP Pavilion DV6700. I am trying to get my Motorola S9 bluetooth headset to play audio. I just installed Windows 7 and the bluetooth drivers won't support audio. It pairs with the headset, but can't find the drivers for the headset. I told it to troubleshoot the problem and it sent me to this link: Broadcom.com - Bluetooth Software Download
I tried to install that driver, but the installation stopped very early giving me a message saying it can't update my bluetooth device. All of my internet searching always leads me back to this being the only solution that is supposed to work.
Has anyone found another way to get audio bluetooth support for windows 7?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to install Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 (64-bit, SP1). Firstly, there's no download link for Windows 7 on the Microsoft Download page as apparently all Windows 7 installations already have IE8 installed. Mine doesn't - I have IE9, and on add/remove Windows components, IE9 is my only option.
Secondly, using the download link for IE8 for Vista x64 doesn't work, even when running with compatibility mode for Vista, the installation fails, for an unknown reason.
Thirdly, downloading the developer pack IEAK8 and using that to generate my own custom build of IE8 for Win7 failed because despite choosing the x64 option, it refuses to build anything except an x86 version, which of course won't run on my x64 OS. I'm kinda running out of options here. There doesn't seem to be a version of IE8 available for Windows 7 - but surely developers etc must be able to install it for troubleshooting?.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop. I could not load into Windows so I tried the command prompt and did DISKPART, and activated a hidden partition, which is the E Drive. Now the problem is I cannot get back into the Command Prompt because I believe the E Drive is activated and not the C Drive.I have the Toshiba Recovery Disk, but when I load it up, it goes to the Starting Windows screen and then after that, a black screen with only the mouse arrow. Also, going through Safe Mode gets me back to the Starting Windows screen and then the black screen again. I think I need to get into the Command Prompt to fix the DISKPART to activate the C Drive, but I'm not sure.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, the screensaver won't work in Windows 7. My laptop is a 32bit system with 2GB of RAM so not old. I upgraded about a year ago from Vista to Windows 7. Symptoms: the screensaver doesn't work - the screen is just blank. When I try to change the screensaver in Control Panel and preview it, it won't preview even after 'Apply'. There are only 4 or so screensaver options such as Bubbles and Mystify but none seem to work. I am aware of a problem with the Bubbles screensaver via the internet but am not sure if this is a problem. I sometimes get an error box up when I awake the laptop (error OXc0000017). When I tried to install a new screensaver, it wouldn't install and I got the same error message/code. I have changed the power settings now so the display never goes off but I don't think this will change things.

I thought i might need to re-install windows 7 as re-installing the printer drivers does not solve the problem - or could it be a hardware problem, although I have tried plugging in to 2 different USB ports on the computer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to perform these updates for a month or 2 now but I always get the same errors. I get Error Codes 80073701 and 800F081E (see attached)
Clicking on "get help with this error" is useless, as you'd expect from Microsoft. According to Microsoft these are "important updates".
All other updates install correctly. I dont really care too much for IE9, but I figure Windows 7 SP1 (for 64 bit machine) might have some importance for security.!
