Would Silver Stone Air Penetrators Make For Decent Exhaust Fans
Dec 30, 2011
I plan on upgrading my case to a Bitfenix Shinobi, and when I get the new case I would also like to revise my cooling. In the front of my Antec Three Hundred I currently have 2 Silverstone Air Penetrators. These fans are rated for low CFM, but due to their design channel air far more effectively, their description is like a concentrated cylinder of moving air, rather than a spread out outwards cone of weaker air movement.I would use them as front mounted intake fans, except they are the LED version, and give the best visual effect I have seen (the whole fan blade circle is strongly lit with blue light, rather than conventional LED fans with strips of strength with fading light levels further away from the LEDs mounted in the frame, this is because in Air Penetrators the LEDs are mounted in the centre bearing). Because of their stunning visuals, I would rather have them visable, meaning in the top mounted fan brackets, but this means they would be functioning as exhaust fans (who mounts intake fans on the top of their case anyway?).I am unsure however because their airflow is far lower than many fans (only about 35 CFM, you can check it here: SilverStone Technology Co., Ltd.- AP121-L), does anyone have experience or the know to tell me weather these would be effective exhaust fans? To help them I would look at some serious intake fans to help push air though, but my main concern right now is the effectiveness of the fans I already own as exhaust.
Reformatting my friends old laptop (which originally had Vista).Has:
- Celeron (Single core) processor - 2 Gigs of RAM
She said she wanted Windows 7 on it. My question is:Is it possible to make Windows 7 lean enough for this computer to run decent, or should I just put Windows XP on it.I'm quite computer savy, especially tweaking the OS (following forum tips and tricks) to get it as speedy as possible.
Today I tried installing Rosetta Stone on my laptop but I kept getting the same error message;Error reading from, the file exists and that you can access it.I did everything it said to do; I went to the location I tried opening it it just went to the setup and gave me the same error.I have full permision to the file too. Does anyone know what the problem is? Im running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.I tried installing it on one of my home premium, computers and it had the same error but when I did it the next day it worked fine.
When I plug in my TI-84 Plus Silver Edition I get a "driver not installed" alert. I have Windows 7 and have installed the latest version of TI Connect. If I go to Device Manager and look for the driver, the dialog boxes indicate that no driver is installed. Where can I download a driver. I sent them a message and the return message indicated that they had not read my message.
Currently trying zone alarm but half the time I add something to the app blocker it auto deletes it, getting kinda annoyed with it, do I really need a firewall if my router has a NAT firewall built in? in reality all I need is something that can block certan programs from accessing the net, by letting me choose to do so when it tries to launch.
I need help choosing a decent vcard for online gaming. Games like Lineage II, LoL, Bloodline Champions, Dragon Nest... i dont mind playing with low details, i just like to have smooth gameplay and I usually don't play full screen unless it has no option to play windowed.Seeing on the system specs they usually have for minimun requirements for the games i download is the geforce 6600 gt, though, after asking my pc tech friend, he said that card is old so people dont sell it anymore and he suggested the GT430. After some googling, it seems that many people came to agree that the GT430 isnt good for gaming and they gave comments saying at least get a GTX460 for decent gaming. I'm totally new to the video card world so i have no idea how to choose one. [code]
I have an issue with my printer!!! it does this both on XP and Windows 7.if I print plain text, it is just fine but if I print a picture all black parts of the picture are printed out as silver color instead it has done this since I installed a new Black ink cartridge in my HP PSC 1210xi printer!I cannot figure out why it is doing this nor am I able to fix it!!! my ink status window on my computer says both color and black cartridges are ok!!!
Just wanted some opinions on some cpu fans for my socket 939 Athlon X2 5000 cpu. It's running pretty hot just at stand still about 135 deg. F. At 100 percent load can get to 189 deg. F.
This is on my old PC and im trying to fix it but im not sure if the mobo is no good or the psu or what. The PC can power on as well as the fans but maybe 5-10 seconds later the fans turn off and there is no display on the screen but the PSU fan is still going.
just noticed few day now that there is no sound at all coming from my laptop.and also noticed the heat underneath sometimes its to hot to put hand there for more than a second.that cant be right.so i guessed my fans stopped working. i used a program to check my fan speed and it confirmed what i thought. they have stopped, no idea why though.this is screen shot of the program with the results.
Have a Packard Bell imedia A3622 with windows 7. Have a black screen after turning on but fans running. On/off switch just flashing. Earlier it came onto a screen asking me to select method for turning on but then this goes to black screen. What to do next ?
my computer turns ON, but makes less noise than it used to when working, and just shows a black screen...doesn't even enter bios.Recent changes: Ok, I installed a new Graphics card, radeon hd 5450, installed the drivers etc, got it working perfectly. Then a short while after I also downloaded a reputable program called watt 2.2.5 to clear my windows non genuine message. Then shortly after both, I was changing my theme, and the computer screen just went blank. Even keyboard wasn't working (I was pressing "caps" to see if caps light would come on and it didn't). So I powered off, now I just keep getting black screen!
I shut down windows 7, and it seems to, but the computer fans / lights / drives /Ram all still have power. I tried searching my power options and making sure everything was set properly, etc. I even re-flashed my bios. I didn't make any major changes like add new hardware / software, only some windows updates that I've now rolled-back. It looks like one or two people just had to adjust a power setting, but that does not seem to be my issue. I don't want to re-install windows.

I am on a Gateway SX2370.I know i should try a system restore, but i have no restore points and i've had this computer since around last christmas-ish.
This is how it all went down: I was playing a game and since my internet was disconnected, i unplugged my router and replugged it.It connected, but now the windows glass color changed to complete silver.I feared the worst and tried replugging some things fully in since some were loose. My computer automatically shut off, even though nothing completely essential to keeping the system on was plugged out.I turned it back on, only to see HIM, the message of Non-Genuine windows. Here is the MSDiag: ________________________________________________________________________ Code: Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0): ----------------------------------------- Windows Validation Data--> [code]....
So theres all the technical information. Also, my computer came with windows installed, so i looked that up as well. There is apparently some card on the front of my system that has the Activation code,. All i see on the Front of my computer is a small windows 7 sticker, an AMD Vision sticker, and a Quad Core sticker
I just cleaned my laptop and it released a lot of dust, so my temperature is lower. The weather is currently very, very, very hot and my laptop is running 55-60C normally when i browse the internet, in a very hot room. Before i cleaned it - it was very hotter. I'm even sweating and i don't wear a shirt. But that's not the point. I i am running prime95 to test the processor, and after 1 minute of 100% usage it gets to 90C in the hot room again. But when i go to a clearly cold room, it doesn't turn off, it barely reaches 80-85C but never the maximum 90C.are the fans not spinning correctly or is the room temperature really important for a laptop?
I have an annoying little problem when my computer is turned on the fans start but the green light in the front is just flashing. I can get it to boot if i push the other button which is set to turn on off sleep but it takes a random amount of times before it works. I'm wondering if reinstall of win 7 will do the trick.Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional , 64 bitProcessor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9950 Quad-Core Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 2 Stepping 3Processor Count: 4RAM: 8191 MbGraphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT, 1024 MbHard Drives: C: Total - 305242 MB, Free - 146202 MB; Motherboard: BIOSTAR Group, A740G M2+, 6.0, None
Earlier today my dad turned on our computer to a blue screen. It told him to restart the computer if he had never seen it before, and he did. However, we cannot get it to start back up. When we press the power button, the fan runs (harder than usual), but the monitor stays asleep.
Lately my PC has been weird, whenever i launch any game my computer just turns off but in a verry unusual way, The Screen goes black, the pc fans stop spinning, nothing is working, but my power button is still bright blue (showing that the pc is still on but its not), i press the button, nothing happens and if i un-plug the power cable, the power button stays on for about 10 seconds, then when i plug the power cable back in the pc turns on just normally like every time, but i still get crash if i launch a game, this is my pc Configuration: [code] This has been happening for a couple months now and its getting verry annoying, i'm thinking of buying a gaming PC but that costs 3,000 and i need a good working PC while i save up money.I have reinstalled Windows a few weeks after the problem accoured, it did not fix it. I also updated all my drivers, still not working...
I wanted to use my 180gb ssd as a boot drive and I do not know what to do. I have two hdds (500gb 7200rpm) in my laptop and have 260gb of data on the second one. I wanted to create a partition for games at the beggining of the 2nd drive (the left side) as i heard it increased performance to put games in anoher drive and at the beggining of the drive. Will it make difference to make a partition at the beginning or at the end of this drive when it comes to gaming performance? My cousin showed me one game in the same drive installed in the 1st of four partitions of a 500gb 7200rpm (the same i have) performing with 3-5 fps more than that game installed in the 4th partition of that same drive....
bought laptop, its loaded with win 7. i hate it, its horrible i cant find anything. havnt worked out how to make it look like traditional windows like xp. i am silver surfer, like gadgets but all i know i taught myself.
I want to take my Windows 7 from 32-bit to-64 bit. I know that to get from a 32 bit OS to 64 bit you have to do a clean install. Problem is, i upgraded to 7 from Vista about a year ago using a 32 bit version downloadable installer so there's no discs with 32 and 64 bit version. So I guess my real question is can i use a 32 bit upgrade version's key on a 64 bit non-upgrade version? I could download a 64 bit version ISO and do a clean install with that, right?.as long as the key i already have would work?
Someone want to explain how the hell you make a bootable ISO from these leaked builds?
Everything I try is FUBAR.
Edit: Okay..nevermind..I Frankenstein it and figured it out finally..I just copied the install files onto my USB flash drive and rebooted and set to boot to USB drive.
No need for an ISO
Edit 2: ...Okay..I give up..I get an error during install saying Windows can't install the required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. bla bla
Anyone else getting this with the 32bit leaked copy that just came out?
i recently acquired a virus that i've now taken care of, but it seems to have left my computer damaged. i can't change my wallpaper, for one. and whenever i save or upload something (for example, when i want to upload a video on to Internet and you get that window pop-up where it gives you the option to upload something from a certain location), the location for desktop is completely missing when i use one of my browsers - i can't access it at all.
i've also noticed recently that i can't even make changes to my desk top icons. i arrange it by date -for instance- and when i restart the computer, it goes back to the way it was before the change?
