I'm running Windows 7 32bit. When Windows start, the gadgets isn't display.Even, it's not displaying "Windows Desktop Gadgets has stopped working" message. When I right-clicked on my desktop and select the gadgets, the gadgets isn't displaying too. I go to the Windows Task Manager and view the process, the 'sidebar.exe' is not shown. When I search on the programs and run 'View list of running Gadgets', it's displaying "Windows Desktop Gadgets has stopped working" message. [code]
For some odd reason, about a month ago all gadgets in my win 7 ultimate stopped working correctly and now look like this when extended:Not even samples for the clock are displayed correctly anymore, instead I just get this red X-es.I've tried many things already, such as repairing windows for the dvd and so on but none have worked.
Microsoft has killed the Sidebar in Windows 7, but the Gadgets it contained live on. This tutorial will show you how to add Gadgets to the Windows 7 Desktop and how to resize it.
Somehow, my pillow, very gently, accidentally fell on the keyboard. For some reason, this caused my background to go back to some default picture, my desktop gadgets were gone, and other little customizable things (such as window colors and not hiding the taskbar) were also gone. So I changed everything back to the way it was and I was happy.
My new laptop is only 5 weeks old. It is Windows 7 64 bits. Since yesterday, my desktop does not display Windows 7 logo nor HP logo. Instead, the desktop is white color covering my blue wallpaper and has huge black letters message saying: "Stop! You may have to clean up your computer with our program because it may be clogged up. "The service trays lower left and lower right both display the few icons correctly (volume, Skype, Weather, Internet Explorer 9 etc.) When I click on these icons they work. They work. How do I gat rid of this annoying message and get back my blue wallpaper and desktop with Windows logo& and HP logo? There is nothing to click on to delete the message. My Norton and Microsoft Essentials both ran a long scan and both tell me I have no virus.
Anytime I click the Show Desktop button at the bottom-right in Windows 7, it shows me the desktop, BUT my sidebar gadgets all disappear. They all re-appear as soon as I un-minimize anything on my taskbar. Rebooting doesn't change this behavior. If the problem isn't clear, here's more of a step-by-step of what's happening:
-I have a few Google Chrome windows up, let's say. -I *hover* over the Show Desktop button, and it shows my desktop, and my sidebar gadgets are all there. No problem so far. -I *click* on the Show Desktop button, and it shows the desktop, *and* the sidebar gadgets are suddenly gone, as if the sidebar has also been hidden in order to show the desktop. -Let's say I click on the Start menu and open sound recorder...The sidebar gadgets re-appear at this point. Likewise if I restore one of the windows that's minimized on the taskbar.
I have a user that says her desktop randomly pops up while she is typing. She also says that sometimes when she walks away from her desk and comes back the desktop is displayed. She shakes the mouse to bring the last active window back each time. I changed out her keyboard thinking that there is something going on with the Windows+D Keys but the problem still occurs.
I recently reinstalled Windows 7 and I copied my old appdata folder. I do not know if this is what is causing the issue, as it was causing invisible icons to be pinned to my start menu.Anyways, my current problem is, when I choose to display my desktop toolbar on the task bar, the toolbar displays my current desktop shortcuts, the sub folders you see when you view the window (ie, libraries, homegroup, network, computer, control panel, user folder, recycle bin) and icons that are not displayed elsewhere, such as a second control panel. What could be the problem and how would I stop the sub folders and second control panel from displaying?I have tried to remove the icons from the desktop folder, but they do not have an option to be removed. I have tried deleting them from the task bar toolbar itself, but it acts as if it deleted it, but they do not go away
Taskbar and desktop icons not displaying. For some reason I've lost all my desktop icons and my taskbar, all the displays is my normal desktop background.
I have two computers (laptop and desktop) both with windows 7 ultimate 64bit and I always get "the password or username is incorrect" error when remoting in to my laptop from my desktop, but not to my desktop from my laptop. I have "allowed connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop" under remote settings on both computers. Set up Remote Desktop users allowing "everyone", and checked all firewall setting with AVG and Windows firewall to make sure port 3389 it allowed, as well as disabling the firewalls altogether. But I still get the same error and yes I am absolutely certain the log on info is correct.
I am connecting to a remote desktop that I have been connecting to for months now but suddenly today the taskbar and start menu from the remote computer disappeared and I can only see my laptop's menu and taskbar. This means I can't get into the Computer or folders of the remote desktop as there is not a shortcut on the desktop. It is also generally annoying.
I've had problems with my antivirus and their support site said to input the following in the command prompt. Now my network gadget doesn't see my network card, my GPU Monitor gadget doesn't see my Graphics card, and my 7-sidbar gagdet won't load properly and is displaying the message "WScriptError: Error: -2146827859, Automation server can't create object" what to do so that my gadgets work again?
regsvr32 msoeacct.dll /s rem regsvr32 wab32.dll /s rem regsvr32 wabimp.dll /s
I have my taskbar on the right side of the screen. I have gadgets (network meter, and CPU usage) to the left of the taskbar. I added the Drives Meter gadget and it popped to the left of the taskbar, top of the screen. I want all my gadgets at the bottom of the screen, stacked to the left of the taskbar, but they won't move.
I recently renewed my internet security subscription. Immediately after doing so, the Calendar and Weather gadgets stopped working. The Calendar shows up as a blank orange/white square and opening up the Weather gadget will just reveal the "i" information symbol and a X close button, neither of which actually work.
Clock gadget also stopped working but then after an hour later it started working again and has been working since. I have tried deleting/uninstalling the gadgets but that hasn't worked. I have tried several tricks with the Windows command prompt which doesn't work either.
I'm considering using an automatic system restore (I don't have any manual saved points to restore) on just the gadgets themselves. Is that the way to go, or is there something else I could try? I've decided to name it: McAfee. I didn't at first, because it's been my experience whenever I mention a problem and mention an antiviral program.
I mention McAfee because it's an odd thing: I've searched forums and have found that others have had the almost the same problem; except with them it happens when you UNINSTALL McAfee, not renew it. I've also found another possible solution that involves deleting a registry key, but I'm way too nervous to try that.
For a few months now Ive been unable to get my Windows Gadgets workingIt all started when I one day powered up my PC and found that Gadgets hadnt loaded properly (they were only lines and boxes and vague colors)I tried removing the gadgets and putting them back again, it didnt workI tried putting gadgets I hadnt used before, they didnt workI downloaded new gadgets and installed then and then put them on the desktop, same problem (lines, boxes and color)Ive looked up on forums and FAQs but cant seem to find anythingIve tried all FOUR UAC setting and had no luck, its always the same darn problemI use Gadgets a lot for CPU/Core Load, Temperature, Time, Weather, Date, etc etc
I noticed that when I save anything using Google Chrome (my primary browser), whether it be Pictures or Websites, my three gadgets (calendar, clock, weather) blink and flash to the top of my processes. I've tried disabling them and renabling them, but it doesn't work. Turning them off obviously solves the problems.
I got a serious problem about Windows7 Gadgets. I lose all gadgets including the original clock and cpu meters. If I try to launch sidebar.exe, it will appear as shown in picture. If I close this window, sidebar.exe will be terminated as well. I've tried deleting the gadget cache but it seems not working.
I have NVIDIA GTX 560,before I had ATI RADEON 3600 HD Series.
Problems started with ATI when I quited from game resolution changed so I needed to change it.
I found good resolution, but this happened few times and there is no good resolution. Everything looks to small or to big,to wide or to short (using different resolution does not help I try them all out with all possible modes (16:9,14:9) also changing cable does not helps)
After few weeks I got HDMI cabel.Resolution was good everything was OK as it should but now is another problem. Everything looks like it is in set on low quality and its blurry to.
I dont know what to do because I try all possible modes on HDMI to overscan off/on 16:9,14:9 changing settings in nvidia control panel... No way to get it work.
Also I have 21,6 inch LCD tv with default resolution 1360x768 I dont know does this helps but my TV is recognized as Generic non-PvP monitor.
How do I set Gadgets to always one top? Seen several sites say open Windows Sidebar Properties. The properties program seems to be missing on my system. Is this only available on Vista system and removed from W7?
I have windows 7 starter and my gadgets do not work. the clock shows up as a black box, the slideshow does not show anything, etc. The only options I get next to the gadgets when I 'hover' my pointer is 'close' and 'move'; I do not get the 'options' or 'resize' keys. I have tried everything! Turned off and on UAC; turned windows programs on and off for gadgets; all of the registry editor settings are appropriate (zone 0 set at 0, there is no parasite in the zones); I have also tried setting up another user account..
Recently I noticed my CPU being pushed to 100% by a trojan (igfxupdate) though not knowing the cause of the usage I simply tried restarting the computer, though when the computer restarted my CPU Meter was gone. I have now completely removed the virus but my CPU Meter never showed up. It isn't in my list of gadgets and it doesn't reappear when I click restore gadgets, however, it seems to have all of it's files (in my windows siderbar folder). So I am at a loss as to how to fix it and I can't simply reinstall it because it comes with windows. I was really a big fan of this gadget and now that it helped me catch this virus I feel naked without it. I know I can download a different CPU Meter but I like the simplicity and reliability of the windows one?
