I regularly clean and reinstall windows on my computer, but this time it won't work. I am trying to upgrade my system from 32 bit to 64 bit, and when I try to boot (from DVD or flash drive) it gets to the windows splash page but never gives the option to install. It's just the mouse on a blue background.
I've done everything I can think of, even downloaded a pirated version to see if it would make a difference!
i have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.
About week ago my computer started freezing and rebooting and then hangs at bios splash screen (will stay there with nothing happening for hours if u let it) until you reboot it than it comes back fine until it does it again. The only thing I noticed is if the machine is off for a while it takes a lot longer for it to happen, If you restart it it last around 15 -20 mins.
1) Updated all drivers and checked device manger for errors.
2) checked and defragged drive C: drive (ssd)
3) checked both for events and dmp files (nothing ) made sure reporting was on
3) Ran windows mem check froze twice while testing once with both strips and once with only one strip installed
4) replaced ram

OK, I had the issue that several people have had with windows hanging at the "Starting Windows" Screen. I discovered that disabling the USB 2.0 Controller in BIOS allowed me to finish the install, and boot into windows normally. I re-enabled the controller and booting into windows hangs at the same place as before...turning it back off fixed it again.
My problem is that my only disk drive is a USB external drive, and I will probably be doing some file transfers using USB...I need the speed. Installing windows took a LONG time at USB 1.1.
Flashing to new BIOS and running windows update will be tried today to see if that will solve the issue but I wanted to post to see if anyone had some ideas that I hadn't thought of.
WIndows 7 premium home version on a lenovo laptop freezing at splash screen. I can boot into safe mode just fine. Whereby I have to run a system restore back to an older date but the issue still comes back up and this seems to be especially true when trying to wake it from sleep mode.

It's been running all day, and I looked over and it had restarted and got stuck at a blank screen with a blink cursur, Every reboot will show the Acer splash screen, then straight to the blank screen with the blinking cursor. Any ideas what I can do to fix this? I've hit F2 and can get into the bios, but other than that I don't know what to do..
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I get to the splash screen it just blinks. It won't boot. I've tried going into the safe mode by pressing F8 at the previous screen. I've tried booting from a start disk. It won't go into the advanced boot options, and booting from a disk made no difference. This has happened before but I was able to get in through safe mode. Once I get in I can do a system restore and it will work for a while. How can I get in to my machine?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using my Windows 7 x64 system for about 5 months without a problem. I booted it yesterday, and an autoupdate occurred as soon as Windows 7 started up. It looked like this autoupdate made changes to /COMPONENTS. As soon as it finished, the system rebooted, and got stuck on the eVGA P55 splash screen. It was stuck there for about 10 minutes, so I manually shut down the computer. Every time I turn it on now, I get stuck on the eVGA P55 splash screen. I can not get into safe mode or anything. Any suggestions on how to go about fixing this? Did some stupid Windows autoupdate crash my new computer? I am turning those off if that is what happened.

During the installation process when windows 7 rebooted the first time, it hangs at the mainboard splash screen. I'm on another machine right now, so I borrowed this data from a recent post:

I'm loading a new system and encountering a problem I haven't seen before. I have a Gigabyte Z77MXD3H motherboard with an Intel i5 3570 proc. When I boot to the Windows 7 install disk I get the BIOS splash screen, then the monitor goes so dim I can't read any text during the boot process but I can tell there is text on the screen. The monitor's menu also appears so dark its unusable. After some time the text mode finishes and the Windows install menu pops up and everything returns to normal. I can find loads of posts about black screens after windows boots, but not before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Alienware Aurora ALX, Windows 7 64 bit system. A dell tech came to my house and replaced dead video card. No problems now. But i noticed when i boot up, it bypasses the Bios boot screen and goes directly to windows to login my password. It used to have an Alienware wallpaper background and you were able to see where it says hit f2 etc for boot setup. I no longer see that. I checked msconfig and the no gui is not checked off. i checked it and then re-checked it, no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got Windows 7 Pro 32 bit as a early Christmas gift and was excited to try the new OS. I have been running XP pro for years and my current system works great. I backed up my files and tried to load it on a RAID 0 configuration. It started just fine then it got to the splash screen and froze. After about ten minutes I realized this was not normal so I ejected the disk and it moved to the next screen which is the windows wallpaper.
It said windows is “starting up” and froze again and continued to freeze throughout the process. I did a custom install. I repeated the process until it started to expand the files then nothing. It said it couldn’t recognize my hard drives. I deleted all raid partitions and rebuilt the raid array. I tried to reload it again and still nothing. I reloaded XP then ran the installation disk. It loaded up Windows 7and after several ejects Windows 7 was running. I tried to load Office 07 and it wouldn’t load. The CD sounded like it was working but it seemed like the disk could not be recognized.
I downloaded all the updates and correct drivers and Office 07 still wouldn’t load. After several hours and repeated attempts to get it working right, it crashed. I have not been able to get it to work at all. I tried again to load Windows 7 but I gave up thinking I am missing something but I don’t know what. I have since loaded XP back up and I am looking for any help at all as to what the problem might be. I ran the advisor and it said my system can run Windows 7. The Mobo disk has an updater but there were no new bios files available. I am stuck. My comp specs are below, maybe it might shed some light on the problem. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
I had to do a "Windows repair" boot on a Windows 7 X-86 Windows 7 Pro machine. Now when I boot it up I get the boring "Vista" like blank screen with the Microsoft Bar instead of the nice "Windows 7 Windows starting " with the spinning Windows 7 cube.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if anyone could shed some light on my issue, my computer has worked pretty flawlessly for quite some time but after restarting my computer it kept resetting at the "Starting windows" splash screen.I've tried formatting but after installing windows (on the first restart), it tries to boot from Hard Disc and encounters the same problem (The last thing I see on screen is the text "Updating registry" at the "Starting Windows" splash).Any ideas how to fix this problem?, my assumption is that the hard drive has failed but I was able to access and recover data from it using an Ubuntu Live CD so I'm not sure. The only other relevant information is that I'am planning to RMA my motherboard due to one of the memory slots not working, but it has always been working even with that fault.

Once there it just hangs for about 5 minutes, then starts normally.I have Home Premium, 64 Bit, Dell XPS, Intel i7, 6BG of memory. I have several peripherals connected directly to it: Display, USB External Drive, Webcam, Bluetooth adapter.I tested booting in Safe Mode and it was very fast with no delay.I don't restart Windows 7 often so not 100% sure of when this really began. After the install booting up was very very fast. So this happened over the last month or so.The only hardware item I would mention is a Realtek card/usb reader which is built in to my unit as part of it. After Win 7 install it did not work at all and it took quite a while including working with Dell to finally track down the appropriate drivers. Now the unit works fine but I believe the problem began around that incident.Prior to uninstall or disabling the item I just wanted to check and see if this problem has been seen and make sure I am not going to do something to simply create a new problem. Also, since it was so difficult to finally get this Card Reader up and running I am concerned about just uninstalling it.

It's my dad's laptop and he always thinks he can fix issues himself, one day when he had vista about 3 or so months ago he was having some boot issues, so he went inside bios and I believe changed some things around, he really has no idea. I addressed the issue but ever since he made changed his computer takes an incredibly long time to boot up, could this be something he changed in bios? On windows 7 it hangs on Starting Windows and with Vista it did it at basically the same place when the windows logo first appears with the loading bar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent all day failing to install Windows 7 on my system. The only thing I have done since the last successful install is to create a RAID 5 using 3 259GB HDDS. The system worked when the 3 HDDs were not RAIDed, but now installation hangs after the second restart. All I get is the black screen with the mouse arrow; nothing else. I tried the cmpmgmtloader solution and disabled the network adaptor and usb controller which were showing as having problems. I even tried un-RAIDing the HDDs and going back to the original state and still it hangs.

Mac OS X boots up fine from my second HDD (my laptop has PC architecture, it's not Apple). Removing this second (OS X) HDD and then attempting boot makes no difference. What gives? If I can't boot from a Windows USB then...it must be hardware related? But Windows was working fine with exactly the same hardware for ages. Plus it's all still recognised in Mac OS X, so nothing has suddenly broken. My 4x4GB RAM SODIMMs are still fine, so is the CPU and GPU, sound card, wireless card...I really don't know what I'm looking for.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded SP1 for W7-x64 with Windows Update. It's trying to install now, but has been on "installing update 1 of 1" for over two hours at about 1/3 of the progress bar.
Is this a known issue? I have had problems installing other Windows updates too and hoped installing SP1 would fix this once and for all.
I'm putting together a HTPC using a ASUS E35M1-I Deluxe (AMD Zacate mobo/cpu combo), 30GB Kingston SSD, and 4Gb Crucial DDR3 1066.Problem is when I boot from the Windows install disk I get the "Windows is Loading Files" status bar but when it gets the end it just hangs there. Usually it boots right into the next Windows loading screen. So before I start troubleshooting I want to make sure there's nothing special I need to do with the SSD before installing Windows. Its a brand new drive but I'm pretty certain during the installation process there's a Format option. The Windows install disk was burned from an ISO using IMG Burn at 16x. Before I left for work I started another burn (with img verification) at 8x. But I'm not certain that will help. I've burned plenty of images at 16x speeds without issue.

Asus A8N SLI motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 3800+
OCZ PC 3200 400 MHZ 1024 MB Dual channel (x2) memory
Zotac nvidia GeForce 210 graphics card
I haven a brand new pc with intel 8 core i7 and 16 gb ram and a asus p8z77-LX motherboard
So I go and buy all this and I then go to install windows 7 ultimate and then nope it just hangs on starting windows ahh I can't find anything that works in the forums and ite not the PSU.
When I run the Windows 7 Home Premium OEM disc I get past "loading files" and then freeze on "starting windows". I see 4 little colored balls in the center of the screen (guessing the start of the MSFT logo) and then everything freezes.
Here's what I've got:
Monitor: Samsung T260HD 25.5in Rose/Black LCD w/ATSC
HDD: 2 x Seagate 1.5TB Serial ATA HD 7200/32MB/SATA-3G

GPU: 5850 is backordered, so am using an old Nvidia 6600 GT to attempt to install Windows - connected to monitor with DVI cable
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium OEM
I've done lots of research and tried:
1. Using a PS2 keyboard/mouse
2. Disabling USB in bios
3. Disabling just about everything else in bios
4. Tried w/ 2MB, 4MB and 6MB ram
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have a new toshiba laptop that the O/S failed to load after shutting down. It hangs at the bootup level when showing the windows logo.
