I recently went from Windows XP to Windows 7.I installed my Microsoft Publisher 2007 program on the computer.I can design my documents with jpeg and save them but when I pull the document back up, the photos won't open.I keeps giving me a message about photo gallery.

However with Windows 7 there's seemingly no way to pin New Microsoft Office Document and Open New Microsoft Document to the Start Menu.And what was Microsoft's logic (think) in this regard? And more importantly...how can I put those items on the Start Menu?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI transferred photos from an old PC to a new one with Windows 7. Many of the transferred photos show up not as photos but in the Windows Live Gallery as a Microsoft logo. Clicking on it and Windows Media Center opens op, but not on a specific photo.I can't tell which ones are hidden this way.Many were scanned and others saved from other email sources.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded photos from my cellphone that are listed as being JPEG files and I am not able to open them with any windows software I have. Windows Photo Viewer gives an error message saying the pic files cannot be opened because the software "can't support the file or needs updated". Photo Gallery says the pic files "may be unsupported, damaged or corrupted" and Paint says, file is "not a valid bitmap file" or the format is not currently supported. And then lastly, my 2007 Office Picture Manager gives no error message and displays only a simple red "X" in the middle of the screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem getting Media Center to display my Photos showing the individual photos contents of each folder.I am running Windows 7 HP 64 bit with all updates. My MEDIA (movies, music & photos) are on a separate hdd (M). Each of the media formats has it's own folder on the M drive, Movies, Music & Photos. I have no problem with the movies or the music. However, when I choose "pictures" in Windows Media Center only the individual photos folders are shown....no photos are shown in these folders. I see the individual folders but no contents. I have set up "Libraries" on the C: drive; Music, Video & Photos. When I click on photos in the "Libraries" all the photos folders are show each with it's own photos. I have "Shared" these libraries as well as each folder on the Media drive M. The format of the individual photos is jpg. I have run SFC/Scannow.

There is no important data on this that im concerned about preserving.
What i want to do is reformat them into 2 separate single storage HDD'safter installing them into my new system. or will it mess up my new system?

When I copy text from a file/document and then paste it into another file/document I have one of three things happen. One it will copy the text correctly, though if I press enter to go to a new line its as if the clipboard was emptied because I cannot paste again, two it will not paste anything as if I didn't copy before, or three it will paste a screenshot of what is currently on my screen into the document.If it does copy and paste correctly then when I open a new file or folder, the clipboard will empty so I can't paste the same thing into two different documents unless both documents were open when I fist copied the text.This issue also occurs whe trying to copy/cut files and move them to a new/different directory(if the paste location is not already open then the clipboard appears to empty).

After doing so, I cut/pasted my photos folder into my new user directory (or whatever, I'm not very techie..). I have thousands of photos, my BF is a photographer, and I can view most of them. However, in one particular folder 90% of them aren't viewable! Says I don't have permission... When I log back into parents windows, I can see the photos in my directory (as they are no longer located in theirs) but there are little gold padlocks on the ones I cannot see on my log-in. I've tried changing permissions, ownership, you name it.. I've looked for help on line and tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is if I right click on each individual photo and change things that way.
