Windows 7 Installation Asking For IDE Drivers?
Jan 18, 2012
so I wanted to install windows on raid so decided to do that. I set my intel controller raid and set up a raid volume. then went ahead and tried to install windows from a flash drive. THe flash drive is not the issue here. The issue is its asking for raid controller driver. First time it worked, it let me go ahead and chose where i wanted to install windows. I chose the raid volume but it gave me 0x80300001 and So i reverted back to IDE in BIOS and tried to install windows now its still wants the drivers for CD/DVD drive and I dont have a CD/DVD drive and why would I need drivers for IDE? So Im stuck here without a solution. My mobo is GIgabyte z68xp-ud3 rev 1.0. and Im only have one harddrive plugged into intel controller sata ports not the MARVELL one. If i use the marvell i get same results. Even If i try to use ACHI mode i get the same error.Im using my flash drive to install windows and my phone as a usb drive with drivers in it. SO in ACHI/raid mode Im getting same results.

I'm trying to format my HP Envy 15 1104TX but as far as I know there are only 2 USB 3 ports built into the computer itself. The Windows 7 (non-SP1) installer doesn't have necessary drivers to read from these two ports, causing a loop around the "missing CD/DVD drivers" section. I've tried the port swap fix, but it doesn't work since they're both USB3.
My real question is how do I add drivers to my Windows 7 installation ISO? I've seen a few guides but they're either badly worded or too difficult to understand. If someone from here could give the quick rundown

I'm having trouble installing drivers on my recently assembled custom PC. After turning the computer on, I inserted the Windows 7 disk and it loaded the files.Shortly after, it asked me to insert the CD with the drivers associated with the computer. I inserted the motherboard driver CD but it wasn't recognized. The CD/DVD ROM obviously works because it recognized the Windows 7 disk. I'm not sure what the problem is.

I bought a new Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 pre-installed two years ago.
Recently, my computer has acquired a computer virus which slows down my computer, redirects select google entries and on my C Drive there are folders with names like "df4f0569299e83f51098af913b749bc2"
I have decided to reinstall Windows 7 using my original authentic Windows 7 CD that came with my Dell laptop. My intention is to keep my data on the hard disk. My DVD / CD drive works. Before installation is complete I get a message "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers".
I see that this message is common after reading various threads. However, I am not so savvy when it comes to technical software, so things like "burning CDs", "upgrade Windows version", "built my own computer", "Bios", "32 bits vs 64" does not apply. Even after reading all the threads I still cannot make heads or tails of the recommended solutions.

Whenever I try installing Windows 7 on my new portable laptop, it always says "unable to find device drivers". I install it through usb flash disk as it doesn't have a dvd rom drive. I can browse to find the drivers on the Intel 330 SSD (replaced the hdd that came with the laptop), and a drive X: where I think is the temporary drive that windows use to run the installation setup, but I can no longer find the usb flash drive from which I booted windows installation setup from. And thus, unable to continue to install windows.
I had earlier successfully installed Windows 7 from the same usb disk the first time I did it, when the laptop and ssd were still raw and unformatted. I split the 120gb ssd to 50 and 60gb, however I wasn't able to format the 50gb system drive as windows setup wouldn't let me. This is my first time working around with a ssd, and windows wouldn't let me format it the first time I installed windows, is that okay? So after installing Windows 7, the 60gb partition didn't show up initially, and I was like wtf now I only have 50gb of drive space, but then I went to the control panel and somehow was able to make the other partition to show up. Then I realized I installed too many junk on it and I also wanted to repartition the ssd. So after like a few hours after I did the first install, I tried to reformat it again but the installation won't continue as it's now asking for the device drivers. I tried the usb stick on a desktop and on an older laptop and there was no problem.
why the windows installation fails to detect the usb flash disk after loading the windows installation setup, keeps asking for device drivers, and thus unable to continue the installation?

I have run the Windows 7 Compatibility Upgrade Advisor on my Vaio VGN-FZ190. I am getting that two drivers are not compatible with Windows 7:
1) The Nvidia GeForce 8400M GT has the latest that Sony publishes on its support web page for my laptop (Ver. 7.15.11.6760), dated 1/11/2008. On the Nvidia web site, it says that to get updates for my laptop "you must contact your computer vendor", so no updates are available there. Sony does not provide a newer Nvidia driver either.
2) The "Bluetooh Stack for Windows by Toshiba" Ver. 5.00.00. This is the most current driver that Sony publishes for this laptop model on the Vaio support web site.
I don't want to embark on the Windows 7 upgrade until I know I won't run into any critical issues that could lead me to who knows where.

Tolerance here, new to the forums as some of you may notice. Anyways I'm trying to install Windows 7 ultimate package on a PC that previously had Windows Vista. I've already ran the Windows Adviser program, and my PC seems fine so i went ahead and tried to install. First i tried using a burned ISO file to a DVD, with this i made my primary boot device the DVD drive, and my setup started normally. But after i selected the language, then a custom installation, and was directed to select the driver in which Windows 7 would be installed on i would get an error that reads, No device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers then click OK."
I've browsed these forums looking for someone with similar problems, and i did find them, and a lot of the threads were really annoying seeing as how so many people decided to reply with long irrelevant comments. Based on the answers from those threads I've tried burning the ISO file with a different burner (which was suggested often), but still with no prevail. So i was wondering if there was a problem with my system, or maybe my C: drive.

I have just placed a 2nd hand mobo (ASRock M3A770DE) into my pc. It'ts running win 7 ultimate, all h/w is detected ok apart from the integrated network card, therefore i cannot connect to the router and onto the internet. Since Windows 7 is not auto-detecting the integrated NIC, is their a file on the Windows 7 disk i can point it to when i manually try to install it?On a separate note i can connect to the net via my vaio, in case you can suggest where i can d/l a file from.

In process of creating a slipstreamed XP Install disk, but need to get the SATA drivers for this machine, as obviously there in no floppy to use. The factory disk has 2.5 GB of drivers, which obviously is more than I need, plus they will not fit on the CD.

I recently built a desktop so that I could play SWTOR, all the parts were salvaged from other computers, but they are all working and compatible, to the best of my knowledge, except for the hard drive, which was broken, so I went out and bought a Western Digital 1 TB hard drive and a new copy of Windows 7 Home Edition. When I got home I plugged the hard drive, a SATA drive, in and popped the install disk in, only right after I got to the "Install Now" button and clicked it did I get this message; No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OKFollowed by;A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step

I've recently added a new mobo and a new CPU to a certain computer. this computer is now giving me BSOD's shortly after the windows 7 logo appears. booting in safe mode gives the same result.
already tried to set a restore point and did a chkdsk on the drive. imo the old drivers from the old mobo are acting up.
is there a way to remove old drivers from a windows 7 installation (using System Recovery or another pre-windows tool) after which windows 7 will boot 'vanilla' so i can install new drivers?

I bought this laptop 2 days ago and as it came with pre-loaded Windows 7 home premium 32-bit, i converted it to 64-bit and then recovered everything. I have a few simple questions to ask:As my laptop came with preloaded OS, do I still need to install additional drivers for it ? I had taken a look at toshiba india website and for my model, they have given a lot of drivers which can be installed, but I doubt if they are for pre-loaded or clean installation of windows 7 home premium 64-bit ? If I do need to install the drivers, then what is the sequence I need to follow as I have read in many threads that sequential installation of drivers is essential for proper functioning of all features. I would be extremely grateful if any of you experts could provide me the sequence of drivers to be installed on my laptop.

I bought a W7 Home Premium, the discounted version for students, and I'm trying to install it on my Acer 6930G (500GB, ram 4GB, ...right stuff for W7).
I'm actually running W Vista x86, and I know that in order to run W7 x64 (the one I bought) I must do a custom installation from the boot. And I'm doing so, well trying to...
After the window asking for my location and keyboard input, I continue but then I get stuck.
A new window pops up asking me for a device driver...it stated "device driver not found"...
I read a lot on the internet, but that's driving me mad...
how can I solve the problem and having that OS running?!
I'm going to sue Microsoft if that OS is not gonna run... xD

So, as @karlsnooks and @golden had said, I downloaded an ISO file from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River My Digital Life. And using a Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool, I burned it into a USB stick. Now, when I boot from it, I get to the Window home screen, and when I proceed, I get this message:"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step." <Browse> <OK> <Cancel>When I browse and point it to the Boot folder, this message comes:No device drivers were found. I have a question about the installation of Windows 7. Here is my PC config.
Gigabyte P55A-UD3R (with last beta bios)
Intel core i5
Ati radeon 5750
Mouse g9x
Keyboard 600 logitech
Webcam logitech
Audio and lan integrated into motherboard (realtek)
Monitor hp 2009v
Router netgear dg834g v5
4 gb ram
My question is: what is the ideal installation order of drivers, updates and programs in a clean Windows 7 64 bit installation?
For example, first chipset drivers and then lan, of first do updates and then drivers etc...

I am trying to install windows 7 64 with a new M3A79-T. It keeps freezing at expanding files with error 0x80300001. I figure this might be due to missing sata drivers but when i click load drivers during the installationwindows doesn't recognize anything. I tried with the mobo support dvd and i tried burning drivers from the mobo website and using that dvd. In either case i can browse to the dvd but all the foldersin it are empty, so nothing to install even though the driver are definitely there. when i click on scan

my attempt to install windows 7 today ended in ! When I boot from the DVD, choose the Language and press "Install" I get an Error message stating "A DVD/CD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver CD/Floppy please insert it now..."
Here are my specifications-
HP Pavilion p6126f Desktop PC Product Specifications HP Pavilion p6126f Desktop PC - HP technical support (Austria - English)
I have experienced this same problem with Vista x86 and x64. I am trying to clean install Windows 7 64bit.
I put the drivers on a thumb drive and Browse to it when 7 prompts me. Funny thing is, Windows 7 reads all the other files on the thumb drive like .psds, .flas, .skps, and so on.... but it just plays stupid to the actual drivers for the motherboard/chipset. The system rejects XP and I was forced to put Ubuntu on it. Ubuntu sucks, nothing runs. I know all about WINE to get some programs to run but I use the entire Adobe Suite.

I am currently attempting to install Windows 7 on an SSD RAID Array, and I have encountered several issues (this has been a one step forward, two steps backward affair). The issue that I am currently facing is the fact that I am unable to load RAID drivers during the OS installation. As is normal for this kind of installation I choose "Custom" and I cannot see any drives listed, this is the point at which I click on "Load Drivers" and then I select "Browse". My challenge is that regardless of how I "insert the drivers", which is to say whether I put them on a separate USB drive (FAT32 partitioned), or take the Windows 7 installation DVD out and insert a CD with drivers - I simply cannot navigate to the drivers.Because I am unable to load the RAID drivers I simply cannot proceed with the OS installation.*** Note ****As of writing this I came across a program called RT Seven Lite, which has allowed me to create a "slip streamed" Windows 7 installation - using the program I was able to integrate the troublesome drivers into the Windows 7 installation disk.
