View 2 Replies View RelatedI screwed up today. While meaning to delete files from AppDataLocalTemp, I accidentally deleted (many) from AppData. [Sidebar: Is there any way to configure the file explorer such that deleting from the folder view is disabled?] After a brief panic, I downloaded (from another machine) the utility Recuva64 and restored the missing files to a separate drive, after which I copied them back to where they belong.
But, there was a problem - I could not copy files from the recovered folder Credentials to LocalAppDataCredentials. Even stranger, I did not have permission to view the security credentials of LocalAppDataCredentials. I tried booting to safe mode to fix this, but both folders were gone - the recovered one as well as LocalAppDataCredentials.
So, my system is up and running, but the folder LocalAppDataCredentials is missing. I tried using Recuva64 again, but it did not find the folder. I also looked in an older backup of my profile, but again, I did not see the folder. The folder does, whoever, exist on my notebook (but whose to say if the information is consistent).

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open disk defragmenter it doesn't list my C drive -- which is the primary internal HD on which the OS, windows 7 64 bit, is installed. I have another partition that came with my computer (Dell Studio XPS) on which Dell has some a backup recovery image on, and this drive 'Recovery (D' _does_ show up. Just the 'OS (C' drive does not -- which happens to be the drive I'd like to defrag.I haven't tried any other defrag programs yet. I'm the administrator user on this computer if that's relevent. Also, if I go to properties on my C drive via my computer and click defrag from there, it'll open disk defragmenter and still just list the D drive.

To be more specific it's these two:Local area connection doesn't have a valid ip address and The default gateway is not available.I tried several things from other posts but that was unsuccessful like:Disabling and enabling my network adapter and trying to find a Bonjour thing in my services. How i am connected:The basic modem connects through wire to another Ethernet switch and from there i go with an ethernet cable to my PC. {i also have a wireless router connected there for wifi connection to be available but that doesn't seem to be a problem for me}Anyway i found to unplug the switch to be working most of the times to be working."the reason i use a switch is because i am subscribed to some channels from my internet company that the tv-box must have a static ip if i am correct and connecting it directly to the wireless router found not to be working".
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed win 7 ult 64 and have questions about Libraries...I have an external hard drive connected to my router and store a lot of my files and back ups on it...
Q1) If I include a folder in a library from the network drive, when I back up or image my laptops local D Data partition, will it duplicated these HUGE folders I have on my network drive? Or will it take up space on my local d data partition to add include those folders in library??
The start up repair can't fix it and I noticed that in system recovery option, the operating system says" Windows 7 on (D Local Disk" does that mean the windows directory transferred to Local Disk D? And another thing is that I can't boot the pc in cd/dvd, when i click f8 and click the CD rom the message" press any key" won't show?

When I go into the jetAudio preferences, and check all file types, it doesn't work properly, I'm guessing it's due to the fact that Windows 7 is still Beta.
