Windows 7 Installation Crashes Before It Begins

Aug 6, 2011

Before I begin I would like to say that I'm not a native English speaker, so my English isn't perfect. Sorry for that. I've bought a new PC without Windows 7 installed on it. I thought that installation of Windows 7 can't be really hard. Oh boy, I was wrong, I start up my PC with Windows 7 64 bit disc in it. PC is set to boot from CD/DVD. Everything seems to go just fine. I've got the message that "Windows is loading files". It takes a minute and it's done. Then I get the "Starting Windows" screen and the blueish background pops up. For a moment (it's not even half a second) some kind of dialog box pops up - I think that is the one with title "Install Windows". Then there's a large message saying: "Windows 7 is preparing to install" (or something like that, I'm not using English version so I'm trying to translate all these messages).

Windows 7 Crashes On Reboot During Custom Installation

Sep 24, 2010

I have just built a system with the following specs and Windows is crashing after rebooting during the install process, I've tried installing without the RAID card installed into the PCI-e slot. The video card cannot be removed with the Core i5 CPU, it must be in there for this CPU from what I understand.I have not installed any drivers (i.e. for the RAID card, video card, etc). I'm using a USB mouse and USB keyboard. I've tried running windows without any USB ports in use and I still get the same result.!

Windows 7 Frequently Crashes Unrecoverable (re-installation Needed)

Jul 14, 2011

This is the 3rd time that Windows 7 crashes in such a way that recovering/repairing is impossible. A fresh installation I put on a second partition finally seem to work smoothly and without errors when it crashes after a few days. The current installation is still working, but lags and gives errors (both came from the same source DVD) from the beginning. We're talking each time about the same machine, of course, a Acer Travelmate 5520 (dualCore 1,9 Turion with Radeon Xpress 1250). First I thought it was due to an incompatible update or some kind, but I have performed all upgrades on this copy of Windows and it is still running...

So, can I acces the log files from my other (newer) installation ?

Computer Turned On - Windows Spiral Begins Then Stops / Startup Repair

Jan 15, 2013

I'm having problems with windows starting upon my PC, however, it only occurs intermittently, but seems more frequent now. When booting, the windows spiral begins then stops, and it reboots to the screen to choose startup repair or start windows normally. If I do startup repair, it doesn't find anything to repair, and reboot usually works fine. If I choose Start Windows Normally, 75% of the time if works fine. When the computer runs, it's fine and everything seems to run normally, I don't get blue screens or other issues. I'm not sure where to find any recorded errors to get more specifics.

System:
Win 7 professional (upgraded from Home) 64bit
Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 motherboard
Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz processor
8GB Ram (2x4gb)

A few times when i have taken it out i can smell melting plastic.

This board does not support parted magic (cannot wake from sleep and there are no onboard video to wake up to) so ive resorted to clean all.I have not been able to successfully boot the OS on the SSD. I never intended on setting up raid but apparently all the literature i see is on raid. Nothing UEFI is enabled There are no other drives hooked up to the computer. Just SSD, USB cordless mouse, keyboard and no network cord or WIFI i started with a clean ssd as reccomended my bios recognized the ssd on post i booted into the win 7 install (MBR not uefi) i loaded the 64 bit rste drivers from asus as reccomended by others i left the machine to install the usb then booted into windows install (for whatever reason) i pushed f8 to boot my corsair windows brings up an error on a black screen File: windows/system32/drivers/adpahci.sys driver did not load Status: oxc0000221 Info: Windows Failed to load because of a critical system driver is missing or corrupt

Installation Error: Setup Cannot Continue Due To A Corrupted Installation File

Sep 13, 2009

I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation:

"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance."

Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted?

I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.

"Windows Could Not Complete The Installation, To Install Windows On This Computer, Restart The Installation"

Apr 16, 2012

First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.

This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

Windows Explorer Crashes

Apr 27, 2011

As described here: 'Microsoft is offering users running Windows 7 a fix designed to resolve issues related to Windows Explorer. According to the software giant, Windows Explorer can crash in certain scenarios, a glitch which also seems to be impacting Windows Server 2008 R2, not just Windows 7. It appears that the issue is not exactly new, since it affects the RTM versions of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, as well as the two operating systems after their first upgrade was released. Essentially, the release of Service Pack 1 doesn't seem to have resolved Windows Explorer crashes. "This issue usually occurs when you perform some operations that are related to the taskbar or to the Address bar," the Redmond company revealed.

I'm having a problem with a new computer I bought with Windows 7 (64bit) installed. At seemingly random points in time it will crash on me completely. I've managed to find out from a dumpfile that the likely cause of this problem is something called Rdyboost.sys I've managed to find it listed as a driver in windows/System32. Apart from that though I'm not sure how to find it, and was wondering.

The windows logo on the loading screen doesnt show. So the first step I tried was trying to boot into safe mode but there is problem one. So since I could not boot into safe mode I used my win 7 dvd to try a system restore. That didnt work, neither did the repair windows startup option. After all this I took my hdd out connected it to my laptop and then ran a check disk. It didnt find a errors just missing files.

Windows 7 Crashes/won't Start Up?

Jan 4, 2012

About a week or two ago, when I tried to start up my computer, at some point in the start up process (before my desktop was displayed), a blue screen of death popped up and i had to restart my computer. I didn't think much of it at the time since my computer started up fine after a restart. But since then, its been happening more and more frequently. I've noticed that what usually happens is I'll leave my computer for sometime and it will go into sleep mode, and then when I try to start it up again, it won't wake back up. So I'll turn it off, and when I turn it back on, I get a BSOD again. By now i have to try to start it about 4 or 5 times before it finally starts up all the way.

Also, occasionally the BSOD will pop up while I'm actually working on my computer. Also of note is that its not the same STOP error code every time. I've started writing them down today and this is the stop codes I've seen so far today...[CODE]

BSOD Mainly 1e Crashes In Windows 7?

Jan 21, 2012

I have been experiencing BSOD nastiness for the past two weeks. It seems to have started by one of two things. I tried to download a trial version of Corel PSP 4x. This file was downloaded at 7:30 PM on 1-10-12. I opened the file, used it a little, and went to bed. No problems!. That night, Windows downloaded a bunch of updates at about 3am. My wife used the computer that day with no problems. Later that day, another batch of windows updates was installed. That is when trouble started. The updates were:

KB2584146, 2644615, 2631813, 890830, 2538242.

What I have tried (may not be in precise chronological order): I tried to uninstall PSP x4. The uninstall crashed, leaving a partial install. I did a memory test. No problems found.I did a system restore to a restore point before the PSP install, but I did not immediately update the windows updates.Based on the reliability monitor, it looks like this worked until the updates were reinstalled automatically on 1/14. (Maybe, it is a little hard to tell.)Since then I have updated the BOIS (megatrends m4a89TD pro usb3 from version 1101 to version 1901.)Still having problems today. DMP files attached, PerfMon files attached. Misc Info per "BSOD Posting Page"Windows 7 64 bit retail version installed on new build in Feb. 2011.Other system specs included in profile.

ITunes 10 Crashes Windows 7 64-bit

Feb 21, 2012

I've been having problems for a few weeks with a crashing computer. When I tried to open "Programs and Features", it would crash every time. No crash dumps. No BSOD. Just a hard reboot like some yanked the plug out. It would also happen randomly.

After running countless tests on hardware, checking for viruses, and TWO re-format and clean installs, I finally isolated the problem to iTunes. I was just about finishing my 2nd rebuild, and it was working just fine. I installed the iTunes 10 64-bit version, and BAM, it started crashing. I then installed Revo Uninstaller, and removed iTunes and all of the other Apple crap from my machine. Voila! No more problems.

I would like to be able to have iTunes installed so that I can manage my iPods, but can't seem to have it on there without hosing up my system.

Anomalous Crashes On Windows 7

Mar 4, 2011

It's about 6-7 months that my sister has an HP laptop running Win7, whereas I had an old desktop running WinXP. The HP never had problems of any sort, never crashed, never had BSODs etc: the only crash I remeber was triggered when I tried to connect in a local network my PC to hers to swap files. The effect was an almost instantaneous BSOD on her HP, triggered again when I tried the same procedure, and since then I never tried to repeat the connection.

Recently (less than a month ago) I bought a new PC, this one running Win7 altogether, very stable, smooth and without problems of sort. However, since my new computer arrived, my sister's HP sometimes crashes without apparent reason. It seems that it's my very PC the cause: some days ago, I purposedly left it turned off for 3 consecutive days, and her HP never crashed.
