View 3 RepliesI've bought a new PC without Windows 7 installed on it. I thought that installation of Windows 7 can't be really hard. Oh boy, I was wrong. So the problem is:I start up my PC with Windows 7 64 bit disc in it. PC is set to boot from CD/DVDEverything seems to go just fineI've got the message that "Windows is loading files". It takes a minute and it's done. Then I get the "Starting Windows" screen and the blueish background pops up. For a moment (it's not even half a second) some kind of dialog box pops up - I think that is the one with title "Install Windows". Then there's a large message saying: "Windows 7 is preparing to install" (or something like that, I'm not using English version so I'm trying to translate all these messages). This message disapears, for a second you can see this blueish background and then - it crashes. It starts up again and this process goes on and on[CODE]

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with windows starting upon my PC, however, it only occurs intermittently, but seems more frequent now. When booting, the windows spiral begins then stops, and it reboots to the screen to choose startup repair or start windows normally. If I do startup repair, it doesn't find anything to repair, and reboot usually works fine. If I choose Start Windows Normally, 75% of the time if works fine. When the computer runs, it's fine and everything seems to run normally, I don't get blue screens or other issues. I'm not sure where to find any recorded errors to get more specifics.

Seagate 1TB hard drive (system drive)

Whenever i close the lid, select sleep from the start menu, or push the power button to put it to sleep it does go to sleep because when i reopen the lid i have to push the power button to wake it up and re log in. but while it is asleep something is running in the background causing it to drain battery very quickly and get extremely hot, and since it is a laptop i transport it a lot in a sleeve or backpack which makes it get even hotter. A few times when i have taken it out i can smell melting plastic.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently I got rid of my Windows XP and installed Windows 7. In the beginning I didn't notice any discrepancies and I started filling my computer with useful programs. I was interrupted by a crash that basically makes the screen become dark blue with lines going diagonal. Also what was strange was that when I used button combos such as alt+F4 and ctrl+alt+del it changed color and I could hear background noise the same as when it is running normally. Therefore, to sum it up, my monitor display crashes randomly even upon startup or when I use some programs. As a result I tried the Windows 7 compatibility checker and everything seemed alright.

I am using my Sony Bravia LCD PC jack for the my pc's display(for the moment until I get a longer HDMI cable). The screen is severly shifted and I cannot adjust it by just uing the hortizal control, it is still out of range. Is there another way to adjust it via windows drivers to minize the shift(like in linux)? Any help would be great.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe first one is the BIOS boot up screen that usually leads me to Windows. A few months ago, this vanished. I don't know if it was due to a version of Windows 7 i installed or something but whenever I turned on the PC, the screen would appear blank for a few minutes then go straight to the Windows welcome screen. I thought it was weird, but I didn't see a problem since it went to Windows so I disregarded it, which looking back is kind of dumb but I didn't want to risk doing something to the computer in the process. So a few weeks ago I was trying to partition the hard drive so I can install the Windows 8 preview on it, rebooted the computer and...nothing. It wouldn't take me to Windows to there's clearly a problem with the hard drive. I could always get a new one, but there's still the problem of the vanishing BIOS screen.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI know from searches on here that this laptop is pretty much obsolete when it comes to finding drivers for some aspects of Win 7, but I've also found some who seem to have got it running well on it, so hoping this isn't maybe a driver problem but something else that maybe can be easily fixed.
Basically Windows 7 installed without any problems but is running in a box centred in the middle of the screen - I tried to improve it by changing up the screen res, but while that did bump it up a bit it's still well shy of the screen edges i.e. 1 inch of black all around it. Is this thus another driver issue do you reckon or does anyone know of any other way to increase the res, as I can't find anyone else with this particular problem in searches here or elsewhere (unless I'm not searching with the right terms).
Already have it installed on my desktop so the laptop was really just for backup of sorts and not the end of the world if it won't work properly, but be nice to know for sure.
I have a hp mini 210 netbook. Im trying to run games like broken sword on it. In my previous windows 7 instalation, i just selected 'maintain aspect ratio' from the display properties, and it gave me a full screen game.
I had a terrible virus, so had to format and install another windows 7.
I noticed the graphics driver is a bit different, and now when i select 'maintain aspect ratio', it makes no diffference whatsoever. how to actually get full screen again?
