Loading Artwork In Windows Media Player 12

Nov 29, 2011

I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) Home Premium. I'm having a problem with album artwork showing in Library View and in the full window of Windows Media Player 12. I have WMP Plus and WMPCD Text as plug-ins. At Organize> Manage Libraries> Music I've added a folder containing MP3 files. I simply want to add the appropriate album cover to each different track. I have these covers in another folder in My Documents. With the previous version WMP 11, this proved easy. However, with WMP12...

Here's the problem: In Library View, I click on e.g. 'Track 1' name> Tag Editor Plus> Pictures tab etc> Add> appropriate cover from folder as above> Apply

The artwork now shows in both Library View & when I play the 'Track 1'. So far, so good. However, when I do the same with 'Track 2' and click 'Apply' the artwork from 'Track 1' shows beside 'Track 2', with both tracks now showing the same artwork! When I play 'Track 2' in 'Library View', 'Track 1's cover shows at the left and the correct cover shows top right! When I play 'Track 2' in full window, Track 1's cover shows! Clearly, Track 2's info is somehow not being carried over. I've a lot of MP3 files I want to treat with their separate covers and I can't proceed till I get this sorted out. I've even tried a rebuild of WMP 12, but no...same result.

Can't Open A Shared File On A Windows 7 Machine If It's Already Open On An XP?

Jan 23, 2012

I have a small network of six computers. Five of them run XP and I just added a Windows 7 machine. I've got a Microsoft Access 2003 database that all of the computers share that is hosted on one of the XP machines. The Windows 7 machine can access the Access database through the network just fine, as long as no one else is accessing it. However, if someone else on an XP machine on the network is using the file, it won't open on the Windows 7 machine. Doubling clicking the file on Windows 7 gives me the circling blue icon for a second or two, then nothing happens. If the XP user exits the database, then I can open it fine.

I also use Media Browser and have set it to use media player as an external player but it loses some functionality after something is played I have to restart media center and media Browser to play anything again because it will go back to menus but not play anything untill

Windows Media Player Will Not Open

Feb 16, 2011

My default is WMP for playing CD's and DVD's. I have a Toshiba NB 305 netbook, Windows 7. I copied a DVD from a friends LG Portable Super Multi drive (her computer is XP - in case this might be important?)to my external HD. Something from my Norton popped up earlier regarding GEAR software, but I did not understand it and so dismissed it, at the advice of a friend...I am not so computer savvy. Since then I cannot even access my Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Center Cannot Open Files

May 18, 2012

My father has windows 7 with new computer. all files and programs have ended up 'in' media center and cannot be opened. Card games, excel, word, IE, printer, etc. All icons have which used to be recognizable for the file or program now have microsoft icons. Any attempt to launch from the control panel etc are directed into the media center. Games are in 'extras' ie, exel, word, printer are in 'tasks'. NOTHING will work. If we removed media center im afraid all files and programs will disapear. he says he tried to removed it and the error message said: microsoft cannot perform this function. Ive looked at it and must admit, Im baffled. Media center has absorbed every file and progrfam on his computer

Set The Default Program To Open Media Files In Windows 7?

Jul 24, 2011

Does anyone know how do I set the default program to open media files in Windows 7On WinXP it was right click -> open with -> checkmark "set as default program for opening this type of file" -> double click program. I did the same thing on Windows 7 and it has absolutely no effect. I do NOT want to play music/movie files with Windows Media Player, yet every time I try to play any music file (.mp3, .wav, etc), it ALWAYS open with Win Media Player, even though I have clearly set the default program to open these files as something else... same thing applies to movies

Windows Media Player 12 Updates The Libraries Every-time When Open It

Feb 18, 2012

My windows media player 12 updates the libraries every time I open it, its anoying. As I remember with previous versions my libraries would update the first time player would open, then I could add particular folders I needed and it would add them, and then it would add only the stuff that was missing. Basically with older versions when i opened the player all my files were already there, with wmp 12 every time i open it my libraries are EMPTY and i have to wait for it to upload all of my music, videos, pics etc which takes a couple of minutes. I tried messing with the options but no luck. Why does it renew libraries every time i open it and how can i fix this?

Close file and try again". Except that the file ISN'T open anywhere.
