Will Not See Dvd Disc In Dvd Device

No issues with earlier builds, but on one portable and one server I am now getting issues with the RTM bits where the dvd disc stops being read by the dvd drive.
What is weird, is I start the load process from the dvd drive no problem.
But, after it goes a while, I get an error on both of these different machines that there is no valid cd/dvd driver and will go no further in the install process. (Works fine on a different portable I have). On one portable, I hook up a USB drive and load the OS from it.
When loaded, I look at device manager, and it says the dvd drive is installed,
and all the drivers look fine. But, if I put a CD or DVD into the drive, nothing.
I know everything is good, so what changed in the RTM bits and how do I fix?

One question I have is are the device drivers included on the windows 7 disc? I'm not sure I have a device driver disc let alone knowing what drivers I need.

I have Windows 7 on a AMD Phenom Machine. Hard Drive died so I put another one in and restored Windows with Acronis True Image.
When I leave the Windows repair disk in the drive, the restored system starts perfectly, runs perfectly etc. But if I pull that repair disk out of the drive I get this error about "No Bootable Device" "Insert Disc". So in other words that repair disk has to be in the drive, else I get the error.
I have already:
1. Verified that the boot sequence points to my Windows Drive
2. Run system repair. That's useless. It just tells me everything is fine.
3. Run bootrec fixmbr, vixboot, rebuildbcd. No problems found
4. Run Chkdsk. No problems found.

Lastnight I was working on some documents and my computer randomly restarted. Upon restarting I get the message reboot and select proper boot device. This is the first time I have seen it and don't now what to do. I don't have the windows 7 installation disc or any repair discs. I also am unable to press F9 key for system repair.

I wanted to make a new partition on my hp laptop on the only disc it as.Unfortunately,because it came with already 4 partitions I accidentally turned the disk into a dynamic disk.Now its booting normally but I cant load the system Image that I have created before the partition.Other than that the pc is running smoothly.As I said this is the only disk on the system.Is it possible to convert the disk back to basic?After a lot of googling I found some exmples but all of them assumed you had a second disk on your system.Is it possible to convert the disk back to basic without having to reinstall windows?(I have no windows cd

I have a toshiba satellite L750 running Windows 7 home premium, when trying to burn anything onto a blank disc I get as far as selecting my items and asking it to burn but it keeps telling me to insert a blank disc (which obviously I have). I have tried several different types of blank disc but it dosnt seem to recognise any of them.

So I have an bit of an odd and I think unique problem (as many searches came up with no solutions). Simply put, my boot manager is missing, but only when my windows install disc is not in the disc drive. It started several months ago and I just left it be, let the disc it int he disc drive and it was not that big of a deal. But just did a clean install couple days ago I re-installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my computer (using an upgrade disc if that makes a difference).I formatted the drive with what I guess is a quick format (the option the install disc gives you). I have tried doing a repair with the install disc but no problems are found every time I try.

I have an emu 1820m soundcard installed in my computer. It seems to be functioning perfectly. I can play dvd'd, cd's, iTunes, etc and the sound plays through my speakers without a problem. I want to record some sounds from a dvd but i cant get anything to record. Recording device is set to Wave EMU DSP as the default device. Im using Audacity to record and have set the recording preference device to be Wave (E-MU _-DSP). When I hit record I get an error 'Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project template'And I cant record anything.In the built in Windows sound recorder, when I hit record, I get this error 'An audio recording device cannot be found' Everything seems to be functioning perfectly, yet i just cant record anything.

How do i figure out what driver or even component windows wants software for when in the device manager under other devices it lists an unknown device and windows update cannot find anything.
Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.

Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?

I got a new hard drive for my HP Pavilion DV6T-6000. Installed windows 7 ultimate and a bunch of drivers from HP's drivers section for my computer and I still have this unkown device. It wasn't there on my old drive so something isn't right here.

i cant install nvidia drivers " this graphics driver could not find compatible graphic hardware", and i can't see my nvidia card on the device manager, and can't get the hardware ID, it looks like my laptop doesn't have this graphic card installed.
my latop is: ASUS - K52JC
2 graphics card, intel shared, and separated nvidia ( 310m cuda - 1GB )

but couldn't find device ID, because it is not listed on device manager

When I went to add a new Bluetooth keyboard (Control Panel>Add Devices).When pressing Add Device, nothing happens.I have two Bluetooth devices already installed, are listed under "Devices" are "found" and work fine.Problem is that, I can not either add new devices or, remove any of my Bluetooth devices already installed.Click Add Printer - fine, the wizard starts.Add Device - nothing."Remove Device" - when a device is highlighted for removal, the system appears to be "working" for a moment, but then does not remove the device, it remains.Have checked that Services related to Bluetooth have not been disabled but am wondering if anyone knows if there are any specific services that would be required for Add Devices or Removal of Devices to function? When I disable the network controller in Device Manager, the controller is disabled but nothing changes in Device Manager to identify the device as being disabled. When I used to do the same thing in Windows XP, the device icon turned yellow. Is there some setting to identify disabled devices in Win 7's Device Manager?

i have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem i have a blue tooth dongal and im trying to hook up my wii remote to my computer..the device is recognised and windows tells me its searching for drivers and the device will be ready when shown in device and printers. the device icon pops up so i no it installd but after a few seconds the icon is grayd out and the device just dosent respond ..

It's recognized in device manager as "Unknown device". But I've not connected anything to pc. Also all of my usb ports are working at 1.1 speed. When I try to connect any device, I get the message "that it could work faster, if i connect it to hi-speed usb port".

I installed Windows Vista using my computers recovery disk. Everything was working fine until I updated windows. After the last restart (after the updates) I notice that I am getthing this icon on the bottom right:And if I try to open the Volume controls it opens this window:I removed Windows Vista and now Im using Windows 7 (and thats why I came to this forum) in the hopes that it would fix the issue but it didnt. I am having a problem starting my PC! I have to start it in the boot menu under the RAID option. If I do not do this a message saying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.." comes up, and just keeps popping up regardless of what I press! I would try using my boot disk but for the life of me I can't find it, and as windows 7 was already installed on this computer when we got it 3 year ago, I can't accurately recall if it came with one!I am no expert on BIOS, but I have read other problems similar to this one, and know that if I don't have the boot disk or the OS disk, I will need to know that at least.I am curious if the (Hard drive) is the issue. The BIOS tells me that anything in parentheses is disabled from corresponding type menu.

I recently received a new laptop. After starting after time with no problems I received a blue screen with Verticle black stripes then it shut off. After attempting to reboot it I receive this error in a black DOS like screen.
