What was the really needed time for computers to rest?If you use it for 16hours..playing will it shorten your Hard drive life?and can it actually overheat your system if you wont let your PC rest for a while?? well my fan was burned.but i dont actually play 16 hours..it was just 2 hours 3 times a day,randomly. .

I am thinking that they may be too much of a performance bottleneck to warrant the purchase of the new card.I currently have: i5 760 - overclocked to 3.4 ghz 8gb DDR3 1333 MHz RAM, probably will buy some 2133 MHz when I get the card 750W TP-750 Antec PSU GA-P55-USB3 motherboard, with two x16 GPU slots (one operates at x4 when in crossfire/sli though) HAF-X case,Acurrently have an HD6870 and will buying a faster card be that much noticeable with the system that I currently have? Or should I spend the money on upgrading the rest of the system first?

I have 331 GB left, but I am curious as to where the usage of that amount of hard drive space is coming from. I hardly have any programs because of the clean reinstall and the current program sizes are no where near that capacity. The videos and pictures I transferred over combined it about 50 GB. Where is the rest of my disk space? I would like to clean my hard drive as much as possible. Restore points are also limited to using 10 GB as max. I have run CCleaner and Puran Defrag at least twice.

Now what I want to know is if the bios acts the same as the actual bios setup in my computer. And also, there is a Wake on Lan option in the VMWare player bios setup. Now does this really work and wake up other computers when they are off or in standby? That is what I really want to know from you. And I also would like to know on what kind of computer manufacturers work with my VMWare player.Does HP, Dell, Acer, Asus and all the rest of the companies work together. Like lets say that I downloaded Windows 7 and put in my VMWare player, and then I went to my system properties, what would the computer manufacturers be? Like what would it say? Well for my computer I have an Acer Aspire 5733z model notebook. Now lets say that I downloaded a driver, like a lan card adapter for a Dell Optiplex computer. Would I be able to download that driver on my VMWare Player? Because I know that VM Player is virtual, and it is not my actual computer, which is my Acer Aspire 5733z. It is just powered by VM Ware.
Now for example, my Dad at work has a Dell Inspiron mini netbook, which is a 1012 model. And he has a Dell wireless lan card in his computer at work. And I also installed Team Viewer on his netbook computer. Now like every time he goes home and leaves work, he shuts down his computer, and his Team Viewer ID number goes away. And I do not like that at all when he shuts down his computer. Like because I have a lot of friends, and they need some help on various things on how to troubleshoot issues on their computers. And for this I would need to use Remote Desktop. But lets say that their computer was off, and not turned on, and I needed to turn it on. Could I turn on their computer remotely with their mac address if I knew it? But I am assuming that I can turn on any computer if I had their mac address.And I do not have a Wake on Lan option in my actual real bios setup. So for that, I would have to enable the Wake on Lan in my VMWare player bios setup. The VMWare bios setup is by American Megatrends. So that should work. But mainly what I am saying here is that, I would like to know on how to get someone's mac address, by using an IP scanner, or a mac address scanner.
I purchased Dell Inspiron i14z Ultrabook, it has a hybrid SSD, it have 32gb SSD and the rest 470gb hard drive. It had Windows 8 and I couldn't stand it...I changed the BIOS settings from Intel Smart Response to AHCI, used Wipe Drive, (which detected the hybrid SSD as two separate hard drives) to format both hard drives, installed Windows 7 on the 32gb Hard Drive (I assume this is the SSD part), and everything went great.But when I click MyComputer, it only shows 32GB as my hard drive, how do I set the settings where it would show the rest of the hard drive that is not SSD?Whenever I change the AHCI setting back to Intel Smart Response Technology, it gives me a brief Blue Screen of Death briefly, then restarts in a loop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I used a System Image to restore my laptop, I think I am feeling my right palm rest area of my laptop to feel warmer than what I can recall from before the System Image. The right side of my laptop is where my SSD is located and since I have a SSD instead of a HDD, it shouldn't feel warmer. My fan also is quite hearable now...I think it has to do with my GPU Temp? It is always around mid-40Cs when it is on idle...
What other options might be causing the fan to keep spinning and the right side of the palm rest to be warmer? My GPU load is around 1%...And does my GPU Temp rise even more when I am charging the battery? I just charging the battery and it is up to 51C idle! I do not think there is a build up of dust or other things where the vent it.
I've installed windows seven just before Christmas,and it served me well till middle of February,when "I had to explore it a bit more".And of course,I have deleted something and there was no way to boot win 7 up again.It booted correctly,but after"starting windowws" everything stopped.I tried to fix it,but no,and even worse,I was kind of short with space on C partition(cos me idiot,of course,made it just 30 gigs),and have turned off system restore.
Just for the record how smart I am,I made win 7(beta OS ?!?) my primary and only OS.
I had to save my files and didn't reformat C partition right away cos I planned to reformat it after I take the ownership and back up my documents.
So,I have installed windows seven again on E partition,which is now,after reassaining letters,C partition.And literally,now I'm having dual boot,both windows seven,one is working and one not.I have backed up my files a long time ago from now,but still didn't format that partition,and today I decided to do it.
And here is what I don't know.
When I created my C partition for Windows 7 first time,I got an extra 200Mb partition,but when I've installed Windows 7 second time on that "E"partition,I didn't have to make that 200Mb extra partition.
And now I wonder should I merge that 200Mbs with another partition and format them together,or do I have to leave it where it is?
I'm not sure,and I don't even know if another win 7 installation is using that 200Mb partition or not?
What should I do?
And one more thing,I have deleted windows folder from ex "C" partition couple weeks ago.
I have just done a clean install from vista to win 7 using a upgrade version of win 7 hp, following the tutorial off this site, but when doing the install it didn't ask me for the product key or if i wanted to activate win 7, any one else had this happen, do i need to do anything. When i look at system page it shows a product key that doesn't match the one in the box & there is a button that asks if i want to change the product key, it also states i have 30 days to activate win 7.

All is fine, but my ASUS's Drivers Disk didn't autorun, neither it got installed, but still all basic drivers are here so i suppose i won't need that.
But now i m not able to listen to music from my Headphones.
So do i need the Realtek Drivers?
I tried installing Realtek Drivers for Vista x64, but those aren't supported.

It marks all the new destination folders with the timestamp of the date the copy was done, so I lose the original timestamp. I use it in a batch so that I can create logs. I'm familiar with XCOPY but it doesn't suffice for what I need. Is there a good utility that can copy sets of files & or folders as in a batch file for frequent copy, or even a windows app?

My impression is that it might be called upon to run features in a modern program. If so and it's not installed, will it call for it?
