What Is Magic Touch That Distinguishes Grabbing To Stretch From Grabbing To Move

Windows 7 (or maybe my new laptop?) is giving me lots of trouble when I try to stretch a window. There are two problems:
1 - Sometimes when I grab an edge I end up moving the whole window. I believe in earlier Windows versions you had to click on the top section of the window to drag it. Grabbing an edge always resulted in stretching. What is the magic touch that distinguishes grabbing to stretch from grabbing to move?
2 - Often I can't grab the edge at all. I hover over it and get the familiar two-ended arrow, but when I click, it just goes away... back to the regular mouse pointer icon. What is the magic touch to actually grab the edge once you get the two headed arrow?

Ever since received my new laptop comes with default Windows 7 Pro 32bit, I realised got this issue been laying in my unit. During initial start-up, the browser will looks normal and fit to screen. However after a while, it shrink to a size which I can't adjust it to the max full height on my screen. The brown area on top is my desktop background and the area coverage from my browser is already max from what you can see. I have 2 Samsung SyncMaster 2243 monitors running off of a ATI Radeon 4670 graphics card.
I have downloaded some wallpapers that are wide enough to cover both monitors (large panoramas atc). But it just displays whatever will fit on my main monitor and duplicates it on the secondary monitor (This is only the case with my wallpapers, not the rest of the desktop: shortcuts, start menu etc.). I'm sure this is just a user error on my part.
edit: If I choose the "tile" option. It will ALMOST do what I want. The picture will extend across both monitors, but if it is not quite long enough/tall enough it will start the tiling.

I've been trying to focus on reading some .pdf, but I cannot when there is black of nothingness around during fullscreen..
I try Ctrl+1 2 3 anything and either it just zooms in too much or it cannot fill my screen, goes back to original size
I know MPC (media player classic) stretches all my vids perfectly fine, but can Adobe Acrobat manage this with .pdf ?

I typed some text. And I want to erase some of that text using the Backspace key. I press it. But it only deletes 1 character before I have to press it again. And so I'm in the process of pressing the backspace key multiple times before I get rid of one word. I want that to be resolved. How can I change (return) to the way where holding down my finger on the key will do the operation multiple times.
P.S. I'm not sure if this is already included i the my footnote or not. But I'm on an Asus G73jh, I've been exposed to some well-known issues on the G73, but this keyboard problem hasn't been one of them.

I have discovered a frustrating problem when i attempt to customise my desktop background. While i have had no problems selecting the desired images or an problems with the slideshow itself i an unable to alter the picture position, meaning that the picture position is permanently on stretch which distorted the pictures. I select Centre from the drop down bar and then save the changes but it makes no difference, the pictures remain stretched and when i re-open the Desktop Background menu the Picture Position has reverted to Stretch

just bought myself a new HTC Magic today, its a brilliant phone, but i'm kinda having problems getting it connected to my laptop running Windows 7 RC.
with Bluetooth, it can detect my laptop, it can pair itself up initially. but after that, it just says 'paired but not connected' on the Magic while it shows as 'currently connected' and 'authenticated' in the Properties of my Magic in Windows 7.
cannot get it to connect at all.
also, the USB syncing doesnt seem to work either, there are problems installing e drivers in e first place, and neither the phone nor the laptop detects the other if im trying to sync via USB.
would appreciate any help if anyone has faced e same problems with HTC Magic or Dream as yet?

Ok, So I got Magic ISO and Magic Disk, (and i got them from a link that someone on this site posted, and seemed to be able to use just fine) and I even ran it as an administrator. I was able to install magic disk but now I can not open it. It just starts running in the background, but doesn't actually show me anything. What am I doing wrong?This is where I got it. I'm having this problem when I try to install Heroes of Might and Magic 2 or 3 on my Windows 7 computer.
So my prob is that when I press Autorun it pops up that window with Instal, Play and so on clickers, and None of the buttons work. The window disappears after I press any of them.
Somehow I was about to install Heroes 1.
As far as specs I have a Lenovo Thinkpad. Windows 7 64 bit processor. 4 GB of Ram. Hopefully that's enough info for you to give me a clear answer. I really want to play this cool game again.
PS Does anyone know how to play any of the Heroes (1,2, & 3) online??? I would like to play against my brother who is out of state.

From looking at other computers and on the Internet, it appears that the Contacts folder is supposed to have a customized menu bar with a "New Contact" button, but on this machine the menu looks the same as every other folder. I don't use this folder/app very often, so I can't say exactly when this changed, but the desktop.ini file in this folder has a relatively recent modification date, and contains the following:

I can't enable wake on lan on my computer. First I tried with an on board LAN cart then I added external cart - Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT.In the device manager I checked "Allow this device to wake up the computer" and "Only allow a magic packed to wake up the computer" for the network adapter.In BIOS I enabled the PME Event Wake up property.On my machine I installed a Magic Packect sender/receiver to check whather the packets can reach the computer and I see that the packets are received when I send them from my phone.But when the computer is turned off I can't wake it this way. Also there's light from my LAN cart, so I assume that is has power from the mainboard when the computer is turned off. My mainboard is Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 and the operating system is Windows 7 32bit.

I need to uninstall Iolo's Macro Magic version 4 but it does not appear in Control Panel>Programs and Features and does have its own uninstaller that I can fine. Iolo ceased support of Macro Magic but one of the tutorials says to use the standard way to remove via Programs and Features. As I said, it does not appear there.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 Series laptop with 2 GB of RAM, Intel Celeron, and 182 GB hard drive space. I really want to get the Apple Magic Mouse. Will that work on a Windows 7 PC? My computer doesn't have Bluetooth, but I am planning on getting a Bluetooth adapter for laptop as well. Will that work? I installed MagicDisk awhile back because I was trying to mount a copy of memtest. Anyways, I ended up uninstalling MagicDisk, but the virtual cd-rom drive it created stayed behind.However, every time my computer either boots or even wakes up from sleep mode, windows automatically reinstalls the drivers and re-enables the virtual cd-rom drive. where to find the registry files I have to delete to tell my windows installation that I don't want that drive anymore?
