View 7 Replies View RelatedI am building a new computer and have all the parts except for my video card (gtx 670 when it comes in stock...). Now, I have heard that I shouldn't do windows updates before installing the drivers for my video card. However, if I go ahead and set everything up except for my video card and let windows update do its thing - will there be any problems for me when I can finally buy my video card and install it?

The external sound card installed is Xonar DG and it comes with SPDIF output header to be interfaced with video card. But I do not see no such header on the video card. I wonder what video card has such an interface header.

So I looked a bit into this matter and what I have found is that the VLC player that I am using to play the video files runs of the onboard graphics card and not the nvidia 540M card that is also installed in this notebook.

I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again. How do I stop this?

I am desperate! I recently installed windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my DEll Machine's. It has and add on DVI video Card Silicone Image model SIL1364 ADD N-2 I have looked everywhere including under the sofa and cannot find a driver for this card. I went to the Silicone Image site and it appears they don't make the cards or support it. From their site they very vaguely send me to Intel where I found nothing. I have 4 machines all with the same add on card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Optiplex G520 and I, unfortunately, am running Windows 7 on it. Since installing Windows 7 I have had problems with my video card. Certain websites will not recognize my video card or say it's outdated. However, I had no problems whatsoever while I was running Windows XP. Is there a driver I can install to fix it, or does anyone know of a good graphics card I can buy that will be compatible with both my computer and Windows 7?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing some problems with a second video card under windows 7 (64bit). I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX (PCI express) with 2 displays for a longer time. I now added a second card: PCI NVIDIA Geforce 6200 with a third display. It's no problem to install the second card as it uses the same drivers as the first one. Im also able to activate the 3rd display and usw it, but im experiencing some sideffects. Sometimes (quite often) the system freezes for about 20 seconds.
View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday I got a PC from a colleague once I started up the PC everything works fine, but since there was a lot of random programs on the pc, I decided to install my own version of Windows, Windows 7 Enterprise on it.When the whole installation was finished the computer started, everything worked fine. BUT the PC did not recognize the Nvidea Geforce 560ti video card. Since It worked fine before I re-installed windows, I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the cables, however I think it is a problem with the Bios configuration. (because that is what changes after a reboot right?)So, I try to change the Bios configuration to, booting both display PCU (i think) and PCI E, but this did not fix the problem.
My suggestions are; either to update the bios, but I'm not sure witch version I need.
Also, I could disable the onboard VGA standard 14mb videocard, but I did not try this because I'm afraid I will get a black screen, and I also read in different posts that the PC will automaticly re-install the standard VGA.I have been lingering around sevenforums for a while, I have always found my solutions here, but this time I'm in really big sh*t.To make things easier I will also post some information about my new PC.
1. Motherboard is from Foxconn, Its a FlamingBlade.
2. The CPU is Intel i7 ( i think.) dual core aswell.
3. Western Digital WD Blue250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
4.550 Watt LC-Power Silent Giant-Green Power Edition Non-Modular 80+
5.Geforce GTX 560 ti oc 1gb ddr5 2xdvi mini-hmdi
6. Corsair DDR3 4GB PC 1333 CL9 KIT (2x2GB)
7. BENQ 2220 HD, 22
At the moment I'm at work thats why I dont have Exact information regarding the Motherboard and the CPU. I will provide this information once I can.how can i get my computer to recogize the video card?
I upgraded my XP system ( IBM 8291-E2U) to Windows 7 yesterday, knowing the video adapter on my motherboard was not fully Windows 7 compliant. My HP w2207 monitor's optimal resolution is 1068 x 1050 @ 60 ghz.
The video card I am considering is an : NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card
My concern is that this may not work with my mother board which is :
*Chipset*Intel i915G/GV/GL/P/PL/i910GL
Can someone comment as to the viability of this card and give me a process to follow from install to operation -- i.e. how to disable VGA and when ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've installed Windows 7 (32 bits) in my computer recently. The computer is a little bit old, here are the specs:
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
2GB Ram
160 GB Hdd
NVidia Geforce FX5600 XT
I went to Nvidia's website in order to download the drivers for my graphics card but there are no drivers available for Windows 7 designed to my card. I've downloaded the latest drivers there (Forceware 96.85, compatible with Vista) and they work. However there are two problems. The first is that I notice some small delays when I'm working normally with the computer, using Aero. The second one is that I can't access nVidia's app that manages the card's options.
So My new Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit PC doesnt seem to want to sleep. I'm away to work for a day at a time and when I get home the PC is up and running.I found this article:Windows 7 will not sleep or not sleepingwhich indicates to update driver, particularly the video card driver. I go to the vendor site and download the newest driver. I go to Device Manager open Display Adapters and find my card, double click on that and I'm in the properties. The driver date is 9/2010 so there is definitely a newer driver. Click on update driver/search on computer and navigate to the folder where I downloaded the new driver. I click next and get "Windows has determined that the current driver software for the device is up to date" and thats it, no apparent way around.
