View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure what's going on so I'll quickly describe what I've been experiencing. First off, this a three month old computer. I don't use any P2P applications. I'm good at not clicking false links, etc. I'm up to date with Microsoft Updates and all of my software is up to date as well. I ran a virus scan and it came back completely clean. Sunday afternoon, I left my computer up with a bunch of windows open in Google Chrome. Everything was fine. I came back and no web pages would load. I disconnected my ethernet cable and plugged it back in. Everything was fine for a little while. Then everything started getting choppy. Programs were taking forever to open and once they did, the entire computer started lagging. For example, songs in iTunes would pause for about a half a second and jump right back in. It happened almost routinely, every 3-4 seconds. The mouse cursor was also jumping. I restarted and the same effects were observed. I can no longer open any MS Office products. This REALLY screws the computer up. I opened task manager and I can see Powerpoint, for example, running in the background and using about 100kb of memory. "End Process" does not even end the process. I tried using PSKill.exe to kill the process, but to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn our office, running both Office 2007 and 2010, when trying to create a new document from a template (ex.: business cards or letters), I get a message that says "Unable to connect to Microsoft Office Online" with 2 options: "Try again" and "Troubleshoot your internet connection" (Office 2010 has a third option: "Tell us what you are looking for"). The product is activated on both and I am able to connect directly via a browser to the template site here:http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/templates/?CTT=97 . I can ping microsoft.com and have no other connectivity issues, and our network firewall and the local firewall are not blocking anything Office-related as far as I know. In fact, on one computer, I logged in as the local administrator and was able to connect doing the same thing, then logged back in as a network user AND the network administrator and both failed once again. What would cause this between accounts, and FYI, this method did NOT work on 2 other computers (logging in as the local admin). This occurs on both Office 2007 and 2010 products (2010 is running on Windows 7, 2007 is running on Windows XP).Also, I tried using the computer (under the local admin account) on our public network (like a home network connected by cable modem, using DHCP) and it worked fine also, if that makes any difference.

This may be a result of a hang in Easy Transfer. Easy Transfer was sitting for hours saying "1 minute" remaining. I terminated the program. The hang was in the administration section.

My old Office 2003 is unable to work normally on new Windows 64 bit Dell. Old files (transferred from old computer) and New Documents created on new computer using Word fail to open immediately and require User Account action from winword.exe every time I try to open any document (several steps). Any way to resolve this short of buying Office 2010?

View 1 Replies View Relatedone of my co-workers wants me to get rid of some viruses and install office 2010 home and student on her computer with the key she bought. her computer runs windows 7 64-bit. after backing up her data, i finally ended up doing a factory reinstall from the backup partition. so i downloaded all windows updates and installed antivirus and firewall software. then i downloaded the office 2010 trial and tried to install it. it seems to begin installing without any problems. then a splash screen for powerpoint appears. it says that its "processing" and does that for about 20 minutes and then there is a balloon that pops up saying that office is downloading files. after all that happens, an error message appears that says something like "powerpoint cannot be opened. please try again later or repair this software in the control panel" with no sort of error code. i then tried repairing it from control panel which claims to complete successfully. so i restart and try to install again and the same thing happens all over again. if i try opening word, excel, powerpoint or onenote the splash screen appears and does the same thing that i described powerpoint was doing. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. i also tried installing the 60 day trial for office 2007 that came preloaded with the computer and then installing office 2010 over it. same thing happened.

I get a notice that installation was successful but when I attempt to open word the program hangs up at the word logo. I can get out by using task manager. There does not seem to be a problem either with the DVD drive or with the actual installation discs; the program installed happily on my other Wiindows XP PC, and the DVD drive seems to be able to read other installation discs satisfactorily.
I am wondering is there any method i can use to insert all the programs and applications I need to Windows 7 DVD and when I do unattended installation I like it to install everything I want. Also I like to know what is this process or method called, so that i can look for it in google better.

It gets nearly halfway through installation before it says that it can't find setup.exe and asks me to browse folders to find where it is. I've tried looking but can't find it and so have to abort process.
