View 9 Replies View RelatedNot a real problem but just wanna know how this is possible. I have 3-usb ports and they are all working when attaching mouse or usb stick or external usb harddrive and they are all usb2.0 ports.
I bought a sweex wifi usb adapter, plugged it in usb port and I heard ... ding dong... after 1 second ding dong etc etc. So it sees something and a second later it doesn't. It ended up with "unkown device" in device manager. and device manager refreshes all the time just as if it's plugged in and out all the time. So I went back to store and there it's working fine.
I tried 2 of the 3 usb ports end there's the same problem. But when I plug in in 3rd usb port there isn't a problem at all!! It finds drivers automatically from windows update and wifi works. But if I plug it in another usb-port it just doesn't work

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Zotac 570 gtx connected via HDMI cable to my Asus VE258 LED monitor.I've had this video card and monitor setup working before with the exact cable, card and monitor.Something changed in my system where the monitor is no longer recognized for what it is. When i go into my Nvidia control panel under change resolution 1.Digital Display, 2. DVI-PC Display - Resolution 1080p 59 Hz. There is no DVI cable plugged into the computer and the monitor is set on HDMI input. When i go to my Audio playback devices, the HDMI connection does not show up at all, even as disabled or disconnected.When i go to play a game (Diablo 3, Skyrim, Farcry2) The game either doesn't open (skyrim) giving me the error that resolution is not recognized (but then does not give me any resolutions to choose from in the options menu) or will play (Diablo 3) but is stuck on extremely low resolutions with only 2 options.
Here's what i've done. Contacted Zotac and had them send me the most recent drivers for the video card. Uninstalled originals and re-installed the new ones. Contacted Asus (they say its not the monitor as long as its set on HDMI input) I am unable to find a driver that will make my computer (Windows 7) recognize the monitor for what it is. Zotac failed after their attempt with the driver and told me to RMA the card. So i did... i waited a month.
wreaks havoc with my Norton full system scan. It is scheduled weekly, but never does it, because my computer is on, but sleeping. How can I get the scan to not stop during sleep mode or scan if it's in sleep mode? I having to constantly unsleep my computer or change my control panel settings then change it back.

Since reassembling it, Windows (7 ultimate 64-bit) will not recognize either of my 2 DVD-RW's. At boot, my bios offers them as boot options, and with the Win7 disk in the one, it will boot from it if selected. However, once within the Win7 environment...nothing. Not even any yellow exclamation marks in device driver. The game seems to be consulting" dxdiag.exe when I adjust the graphics detail of the game.Here is the problem, dxdiag when launched insists on displaying my secondary Intel GPU. My laptop has switchable graphics, but even if I force the usage of the primary Nvidia GPU (GT540M) through the Nvidia control panel it still detects the Intel one.

Because sometimes I have many computers at a time to fix, I wondered if there was a way in which windows 7 can be forced to update every installed driver in the system at once, this because when windows 7 is installed, it installs outdated (but working) drivers for some devices. Generally, I don't install drivers by double clicking them, but rather by extracting them (exe's) and then making windows find them, I do this because doing so, prevents most of the time, the installation of unwanted applications.Now, I know I can update each driver individually using the device manager, but this could take very long depending on the machine. I would like windows (on a clean installation), to uninstall ALL of the drivers, including chipset, video, audio, etc, and then look for them in a specific folder, say C:ew_drivers (where all new extracted drivers are).

I have a program which tries to write data to %windir%. I can make this program work if I open Windows Task Manager, right click the program's process and check the "UAC Virtualization". However, I dont want to do this every time I run the program, so is there a way to auto-enable the virtualization for this program?
I'm running Windows 7 pro/enterprise 64bit.
