I am having an issue with setting up a POS system and specifically the touch screen.
I have tried to update the windows drivers, and the TekVision drivers to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP AIO touchscreen computer that comes preloaded with win7 pro and works fine. It also has a vga in, so i can plug it in as a secondary monitor on my other computer, but touchscreen doesnt work when i do. I called HP and asked for the touchscreen driver (some touchscreens have special drivers), but they had no clue of anything like that. I thought WiN7 was supposed to come preloaded with it, but if i look for "tablet" settings in my computer, its just not there, even though i see it on my AIO. I dont get it, where is the driver for touch? And will touchscreen still work plugged in as a VGA?

The tv monitor is my primary display and the laptop screen is my secondary, they are extended to each other.I am planning to add a third monitor and was thinking of making it touch screen. Would this work? Everything I have read says that if you use a touch screen it has to be the primary display.

I plan on running my standard dual monitor setup + a small touchscreen for a total of 3.
The touchscreen will be used as a lunchpad of sorts, holding icons for my most used programs files, touch, launch, back to old school monitors.
It occurred to me that since the visible pointer would be on another screen, Windows might have to pull the pointer to the touchscreen to click, or might not know to pull it at all.
I foresee problems trying to run a touchscreen alongside a standard monitor. Anyone have experiance with this?
EDIT: Let me ask this a different way, question is a bit foggy...
When running a touch screen next to a regular LCD, can I "click" an icon (via touch) without affecting the pointer on my other screen?
I plan on running multiple monitors with one being a touchscreen.
First off, is this even possible? The thought crossed my mind that if there was a visible cursor, the touchscreen might not "grab" it properly. I need to be able to use the touchscreen as a lauch pad of sorts, with my most common files shorcuts on it, touch, open, back to the old school monitor.
Or does having a touchscreen require ALL monitors to be touchscreen (it might delete the visible cursor.)
Second, can I still use my touchscreen monitor with the cursor (as if it was just a standard monitor?)
Lastly, can I run a touchscreen on an old (4-8mb) video card? I can't imagine needing more than 800x600 16 bit. This will be a smaller monitor and really just used for a launch pad.

I have a 2-yr old Alienware Aurora. This AM, following a Win 7 update & restart, I powered off the system before the update was complete (the Alienware splash screen covers up Win info on startup). Now, the machine will start, but goes no further. I cannot boot into Bios or any of the system files. The machine also does not recognize the original OS disk, so I can't even do a reinstall. No keyboard commands are functional at this point.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I have finished with my computer I always power down completely(switch off at the socket).With this procedure I have no problem booting,but if I shut down the computer leaving the power still on,it will not reboot until I switch off at the socket. All I get is a whirring sound from the hardrive.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems getting sound to come throughf my powered speakers.I wiped the 32 bit XP OS and clean installed 64 bit Windows 7 Professional on my HP DC7800 cmt. I also installed an "HIS H675F1GD Radeon HD 6750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity" (long title!) and powered it with a FSP BOOSTER X5 450W front bay power supply. I connected an ASUS VH242H RT monitor to the video card via an HDMI cable, and although the sound comes through the lousy speakers on the monitor, it will not come through the green audio out port on the back of the computer, which I have connected to a couple of powered speakers.When I look in the control panel playback tab, the only device listed is the monitor, so I can't even select speakers to change them to default. I restarted the computer after plugging them in and I've looked all around and read of problems with Vpro (whatever that is) and sound. I eventually searched for audio drivers in the search function of the start menu and nothing came up. So, I looked online and there appear to be two different kinds of drivers: "Adi ac97 integrated digital audio driver for windows 7" and the Realtek HD audio driver. I don't know which one of these I should try, and I am further wondering of two different "PC issue warnings" I am receiving are not part of the problem, namely "my version of Intel active Management Technology is not compatible with this version of Windows" and there are "no drivers found" for the PCI serial port and the "PCI Simple Communications Controller."
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sabrent 2.5" hard drive enclosure SBT-EKU25 that I am trying to use with USB on a Windows 7 laptop. The drive works but stops doing anything for several minutes at a time. There are no error messages, it just stops... no flashing or steady light. A minute or two later it picks up where it left off as though nothing has happened. It will then run fine again for several seconds and then it goes back to "sleep". I am trying to use the drive to backup files and it spends more time sleeping than doing anything else. The drive enclosure does not come with any drivers and is supposed to be plug and play. I have checked the USB drivers and Windows says they are up to date. I have installed a 60Gb hard drive from an old laptop in it.If i plug the the drive into the USB port on my Windows XP desktop it works fine.

The problem happens randomly (I haven't managed to nail down a pattern when it happens or replicate it). Let's say it happens when running full-screen applications (games n stuff)Without warning everything that's connected through a USB stops working. Mouse and Keyboard are in usb 3 slots (and are compatible) and headset in usb2 port. The devices are powered still normally and the computer still functions (for example, game of LoL still continues normally, I can see what other players do or type etc etc, but the usb devices are unresponsive - though powered)

View 1 Replies View Relatedit's already about a year know since I've assembled my computer. My motherboard seems not to completely shutdown the power of the usb ports. The motherboard I use is a Asus P6T se, I've been searching trough the forum but nothing came out.. maybe I oversaw it but I'm not sure 'bout that.
So when I shutdown all usbdevice basically stay on or are still getting power.. I want it to turn off too. First reactions will give me go check the BIOS. I browsed it several times already.
I have a 1TB external storage drive that uses its own power supply and connects to my laptop via USB 2.0 cable. For months I've had absolutely no problem out of the device, until the computer randomly decided to forget the device was plugged in. Now I'm lucky to get the device to be recognized by the computer at all, and when it is recognized, if I try to move anything to/from the device, the connection is immediately severed from the computer.I use this device for my backup as well as holding on to things I would rather not get rid of. All my drivers are up to date, I've done all the Power Management checking and unchecking that I've read from other threads found via Google search, and still it won't work correctly for me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio laptop, maybe 2-2.5 years old. I let it install the updates earlier this afternoon and it needed to restart to finalize everything. I did not have it plugged up but thought there was plenty of battery life so I let it restart and went to do a couple things around the house. I was only gone 10-15 minutes but when I got back it was dead.
So I plugged it up and tried to power it back up. The VAIO screen comes up and then it goes straight to a black screen with a little blinking dash mark in the top left corner. The dash moves down 2 or 3 lines and then just sits there and blinks. I cannot get the computer to do anything else.
The problem likely started when I cloned my drive to a new Seagate drive using a Seatools *Seagate** utility, which I believe is actually made by Acronis. The final fix was installing new drivers for the Hard drive from Intel "Intel Rapid Storage Technology"

I have a HP dv6910us Pavilion and the DVD is not listed in Device Manager. DVD Tray opens and light comes on but does not play DVD. 1st USB port on left side gets - USB Device Not Recognized.One under it works and one on the right side works.OS Windows7 Ultimate. It is running kind of screwy so I wanted to reinstall Windows7 but with the DVD not operating Can't do it. Seems like maybe something in the register got erased or corrupted. If I can get the DVD and USB port to work I won't have to reinstall Windows 7

View 5 Replies View Related I have updated my Vaio All in One PC (VGC-VA1 ) to Windows 7 . Sony Vaio no longer suppot this machine running under Windows 7 . However Most of supplied Vista drivers do work . It seems the X700 mobility, ATI Display Driver installs and works properly (8.561.0.0) , however the Catalyst Control panel does not .
So the Catalyst Control Panel no longer works , It does seem to install, using Sony's provided Vista drivers , though there's compatibility issues
I do like the options in Catalyst control in general , so how can I get it working
This issue is for people who can't seem to figure out why after signing into rockstar social club, that the game won't pop up to start the game.
Make sure you have installed all windows updates to where windows update says "There are no more updates available". You should be with Service Pack 1 after installing updates.
There's 2 folder in the C drive labeled "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)". The thing with the game is that it installs it into Program Files (x86). To keep from it doing that, here's what you need to do.
Go to your C drive and go into "Program Files". Create a new folder in there called "Rockstar Games".
Open up the installation of the game disk or downloaded ones that you are using the crack files for. When it asks for the destination folder of the installation, edit it and make it install into "C:Program FilesRockstar Games" (Have to do that for both social club and the original game).
After installation is complete, install the patch V1.0.7.0. It will install it into "C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar Games". Once patch is complete, copy contents from that folder that was said in this paragraph into C:Program FilesRockstar Games.
After that, launch the application and make sure you put in the key and sign into the social club. The game should launch just like mine did.

I just ran into a very irritating problem. When I try to alt tab, the bar flashes up for a minute, then is gone. If I press and hold alt tab, it flickers continuously, but I cannot swap windows (easily). When this happens, the windows key also fails to work.The odd thing is that this doesn't happen immediatly, only after a couple hours. Unplugging the keyboard and plugging back in doesn't help, but restarting fixes it.

Because that was nothing new I brushed it aside. At first it was just itunes but then the antimalware and firefox (which I deleted in an angry rage but then installed again later) stopped responding. Last night, I was able to get itunes and firefox working again and I ran a few scans with McAfee and my lagging malwarebytes but nothing turned up so I thought I just needed to clean up some files. This morning, I booted up, logged on and was preparing to do my daily computer scans when the whole thing froze. I couldn't open up the task manager, close any programs, nothing, so I forced it to shut down. When I went to restart, after the Dell logo came up, I was graced with a black screen and then the message: Bootmgr is missing, press ctrl+alt+dlt to reRECOVERY (and then there are some random symbols after that).

I ordered a 120gb Intel 320 SSD, a 2TB HDD, and a 60gb OCZ Agility 3 Intel SRT Drive.When I got the PC, the boot drive was the 2TB hard drive for some reason. So I bought a program called Paragon that migrated my OS to my SSD. It worked! But then it told me to activate my SSD in the boot menu in my BIOS. I have an ASRock Professional Gen3 Z68 Fatal1ty Mobo with an Intel 2700k.I look in my BIOS, and there are 3 things listed there. My HDD, my CD drive, and Disabled. It says Disabled as if the SSD is not on or something.As of now, I am panicking and I have no idea what to do. I have been switching around what partitions should be active in my Windows 7 CD but nothing is working! Does it have something to do with the SRT drive?
