Computer Only Recognizing 2nd Display Via HDMI Cable Intermittently
Aug 5, 2012I have an HP Pavilion Elite HPE machine, Windows 7, Radeon HD 5700 Series graphics card, connected to an Acer monitor and HDTV. Here's details on my setup:

My problem is that even though my HDMI cable's plugged into my Radeon graphics card, sometimes the PC only recognizes the Acer monitor and not the receiver (that's connected to the HDMI cable and my HDTV). So I end up having to plug and unplug the HDMI cable several times (sometimes 10+) before it recognizes the HDTV/receiver connection. Is there any setting that would favor the card/PC recognizing the HDMI cable more frequently? I've heard it's a handshake issue, and that maybe using a different type of cable would work. But wondering if there's a setting I could use before switching out cables.

Sep 2, 2011ive got a problem with my new viewsonic vx2753mh-led monitor. its got 2x hdmi inputs and one vga.the vga works straight off the bat, but whenever I try and plug the hdmi in it just says no input signal detected and goes black I noticed in device manager that this was installed as 'generic non-pnp monitor' so after jumping through some hoops i managed to install the driver as 'viewsonic vx2753 SERIES' anyway this doesnt seem to have made a difference. still no input through the hdmi.I have tested to cord on my samsung tv and it worked fine so it can't be a problem with the cord or the graphics card....just some general info that might be of use:
windows 7 x64
dual monitor setup
the graphics is integrated on the intel i5 chip my display adapters in device manager says Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.it has a dvi out, hdmi out, and vga out.
Programs Not Recognizing Internet Connection
Mar 22, 2012I posted here a few days ago about some programs not recognizing there was a connection to the internet, and it turned out to be a problem with my DNS servers. It was fixed and everything was working fine until last night when the problem returned. I did an ipconfig /all and it looks exactly the same as it did after I fixed the problem, showing that I'm using google's DNS. This is the current ipconfig /all

May 11, 2011My problem is that I my HTPC drops the HDMI connection when I exit media center.
When I am in 7MC I can play all my ripped DVDs, Blu-rays, and music. But when Media Center closes (or in window mode) the HDMI connection drops off. I can see the "No Signal" messeage in the Onkyo display as soon as 7MC closes, and it reconnects again when 7MC opens. I need the connection to say active so I can have sound with NetFlix (apparently it runs outside of media Center even though I launch it in 7MC).
why my HDMI connection is dependant on 7MC running?

HDMI To TV Connection - Loss Of Picture And Sound
Sep 10, 2012I have a Acer aspire 5536 laptop with ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card which i connect to my Pansonic TX-L37G20B LCD Tv via the HDMI output on a regular basis to watch films etc. I have had no problems with the connection since the day i bought the TV and have been happlily using it for the last 2 years.
A couple of days ago i connected the laptop to TV as usual and changed to the correct HDMI channel and got nothing. I disconnecetd the lead and reconnected but still no picture or sound on the TV. I tested the HDMI cable and Tv input by connecting the lead to my XBOX and it worked perfectly.
When i connect the lead to the laptop the screen goes blank for a second and i hear the connection sound as normal however no picture on the TV.
I have checked the display settings and the TV is listed under monitors. I have tried all settings eg extend display, duplicate etc.. and it appears to work correctly but i cannot get a picture or sound on the TV. I did think maybe this problem was due to a recent windows update so i have run a system restore to a previous time when this worked, but no joy. I have also unistalled the old graphics card drivers and installed the new ones from the AMD web site and again nothing.

Feb 18, 2012I just reinstalled Windows7 from recovery discs on my Dell desktop. Sorry, I don't know much about what hardware I am running, but windows7 is a fresh install and everything else works OK. When I plug the HDMI cable from the pc to the tv all I can see is the desktop background with no icons or desktop folders. I can't see any programs either. I do have sound though.

Sep 29, 2012I have a Zotac 570 gtx connected via HDMI cable to my Asus VE258 LED monitor.I've had this video card and monitor setup working before with the exact cable, card and monitor.Something changed in my system where the monitor is no longer recognized for what it is. When i go into my Nvidia control panel under change resolution 1.Digital Display, 2. DVI-PC Display - Resolution 1080p 59 Hz. There is no DVI cable plugged into the computer and the monitor is set on HDMI input. When i go to my Audio playback devices, the HDMI connection does not show up at all, even as disabled or disconnected.When i go to play a game (Diablo 3, Skyrim, Farcry2) The game either doesn't open (skyrim) giving me the error that resolution is not recognized (but then does not give me any resolutions to choose from in the options menu) or will play (Diablo 3) but is stuck on extremely low resolutions with only 2 options.
Here's what i've done. Contacted Zotac and had them send me the most recent drivers for the video card. Uninstalled originals and re-installed the new ones. Contacted Asus (they say its not the monitor as long as its set on HDMI input) I am unable to find a driver that will make my computer (Windows 7) recognize the monitor for what it is. Zotac failed after their attempt with the driver and told me to RMA the card. So i did... i waited a month.

Oct 28, 2012I'm trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it's working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.
I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.
So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.

Sep 10, 2012I have done a fresh install of Win 7 64bit on my new SSD 160GB,i plugged in my other two now spare HHD.500GB seagate and a 160GB seagate,they were picked up in the bios,but when windows restarted in the install,it would not boot up,after a bit of tweeking if i unplugged one of the drives it booted up and continued to finish the install,there was only the two drives showing,i restarted the PC,plugged in the HDD again,the same problem,the Motherboard is a ASUS P8H67-mPro,it has 6 sata ports 2 at 6g and 4 at 3g,the bios is up to date,I have tried to contact ASUS but they have not replied a week ago,I just wanted to no if this motherboard can run 3 HDD without RAID or am i wasting my time

Useful info: I believe the whole product is an almost exact copy of one of the Kworld's tuner sticks, because the software that comes with the tuner is directly from Kworld Multimedia (with a tiny amount of name editing) and the remote control is identical to Kworld's remote (which is ,by the way, set up for WMC and not for ViVaTV).
ReadyBoost Not Recognizing More Than 2GB
Oct 29, 2011I have a new Notebook, an LG X140, with Windows 7 Home Premium ... activated as Genuine.It only came with 512 MB of RAM so I decided to use ReadyBoost and a 4 GB USB Drive to add more RAM.I selected "Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost" which selected 3851 MB. It only actually created an extra 2 GB of RAM. I believe I understand why there was only 3851 MB available and why it only could create 2 GB of RAM from that. so that isn't so much of an issue for me.I then used a 1 GB SD Chip which is ReadyBoost Compatible and added that to ReadyBoost the same way, hoping that I could push it to 4 GB of RAM ... however my computer still only shows 2 GB of RAM. I have tried swapping different USB Drives and SD Cards but with no success, I can't seem to get my computer to recognize any more than 2 GB of RAM.
