Randomly Getting BSOD Not Solved After Reset
Feb 26, 2012I keep getting random BSOD have no idea they just start happening this past week. I re install windows to narrow down the drivers that could have cause the problem. I had over 19 since then 3 not to long ago.

Jul 3, 2010Running Windows Ultimate 7 x64.I have had the problem a few of you have had with the thumbnail previews on the Superbar flickering when you mouse over the icon.Its deeper than just the superbar screwing up. When this happens I cant highlight and play more than one song at a time with WMP Have to minimize windows just to return to browser and switch back and forth to windows explorer.I have to reboot my PC just to play a DVD folder or DVD disc.The problem started well into 6 months or more of using Windows 7 so I knew it was a problem with either some software I installed or a Component problem. I use Acronis for back-ups and have saved full back-ups of Windows 7 that I know are non-problematic , so after restoring a good image on a freshly formatted partition the problem remained.Tried all the obvious things like video drivers and all but still felt it was in the motherboard chipsets. Something had gotten corrupted or changed.
I have a Gigabyte MB and downloaded the drivers for Windows 7, installed.still there. Tried north bridge and south bridge.What I ended up doing was installing Windows XP x64 on a extra partition which allowed me to use my original installation disc for my motherboard and was able to individually install the drivers for both chips...and after the installation of the south bridge, the computer needed to reboot, at which time it went into a deep process (screen display with please wait or whatever) that took several minutes to complete.I dont remember it ever taking that long to complete .....talking ...like....6-8 minutes. I knew something good was happening.I know these drivers are for XP while in XP but I really wanted to do this just to see if it might get in there and root around deep in those chips since they are the original drivers.I never used XP x64 before with this AMD x2 5600+ I am currently using so I spent a couple hours installing a few programs I use a lot and testing them.Finally I rebooted back into my 7x64 (use EasyBCD) and have not had one problem with it yet. It has been 2 days since I did all this.
Solved 64-bit Win7 Can't Handle 4 GB RAM Without BSOD/reboots?
Oct 4, 2009I've put together a new clone system with the intent of running 64-bit Win 7 Pro on it. Until it becomes available, I have 32-bit XP Pro installed on it. Nothing is overclocked, in fact, the memory is "underclocked" for stability. I'd rather have it stable than gain some trivial performance improvement.
Previously, when I first built it up, I installed 64-bit Ubuntu "Jaunty" on it with 8 GB of RAM installed in it (4 X 2GB). The Linux distro installed and was perfectly stable.
To get a "heads up" on Win 7 issues, I downloaded and installed the trial Enterprise edition. Since I couldn't find any MD5 for the ISO, I downloaded the file twice and did a binary compare on the two downloads to ensure they were the same. Also, I see that the Java applet that downloads the ISO file also has some kind of "verify process" built-in that runs at the end of the download (a checksum?). I burned a DVD in XP Pro using Nero 8 with data verification on (after burning, it reads the burned disk and compares the disk's contents with the ISO file).
Since 32-bit XP Pro can't even fully use 4 GB, I uninstalled 4 of the 8 GB (two modules) when I installed XP on the box. When the entire 8 GB was in the MoBo, I ran MemTest86+ for long periods without errors. To do so, however, I had to "underclock" the memory to DDR2-800 speeds. It couldn't successfully run at DDR2-1066 speeds. A problem that, by checking various support BBS's, was found to be common with my MoBo and the RAM modules in question. After pulling the two modules, I left the memory timing at the conservative settings. I also let MemTest86+ run overnight and got no errors with the two modules installed. My plan is (or, was) to put the entire 8 GB of RAM back after I got 64-bit Windows 7 running on it.

Apr 28, 2012I watch videos from this site Poker Netcast | Live At The Bike | LABTTheir login is https.Ive been in IT for 15 years and even this has stumped me.When I go to login in IE9 starts looping from the login page to the https page and back to the original page and never ends. I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo

I attempted to install the latest RTM release. I assumed that this would be easy as RC-1 was a breeze. Installing RC-1 I used the ISO extract to DVD at Slow Speed, did the same procedure here.
In BIOS I made the boot priority the CD/DVD drive as primary.
I inserted my media into the BD drive and saw the prompt: " Touch any Key to boot fromCD". Did that. The Media began to initialise but it was extremely slow, 3-4 minutes. The screen with company mast and working bars took a few minutes. After that the wallpaper came up with a mouse pointer. I was able to move the mouse around and after another few minutes I saw the Logo screen with Language and keyboard US.
The Windows Install Prompt was next and I executed the install. After a few more minutes I see the "SET UP STARTING". After a few more minutes I get a new screen w/"Load Driver".Required driver for CD/DVD is missing.
The installer scanned the media disc but there was no driver to be found.
I uploaded 2 images for everyone to see.
Is any forum member here have a work around?
I attempted to install my drivers from my sys_32 folders from a thumb drive but no joy.
Since RC-7 was such a snap I assumed this install would be as easy also.
.NET 4.0 Install Failure
Aug 4, 2012I was on my way to install Freemake video conversion tool and it requires .NET 4.0, which isn't on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 mule, so it fetched the installer and I ran it. It failed to install throwing a fairly generic code "file not found".I have been doing some searches and the problem/s with such are plenteous. the various methods i've seen have spotty success, and too often end with "why don't you nuke the drive and reinstall 7".

Apr 9, 2012i have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.

Feb 28, 2011I've just tried twice to install Win7 Service Pack 1 on a relative's Acer desktop PC - which runs ZoneAlarm anti-virus, but has very little else apart from Word installed. Each time, the download and install process seemed to go OK; however, when the system rebooted, it displayed the Windows startup logo, but at the point where the logo goes away and you expect to see the mouse appear, it just froze with a blank grey screen. I left it for a while, but nothing happened. Eventually, I power-cycled the PC and an error message was displayed and a Windows boot selection was offered: Repair (recommended) or Start Normally.
Choosing 'Start Normally' repeated the boot and freeze sequence. Choosing 'Repair' started the startup repair procedure, which failed with 'The operating System is incompatible with Startup Repair'. Trying the 'Advanced Restore' procedure reported 'No restore points', although I had explicitly created one before the update, and the update itself creates one. I managed to fix it by running 'Startup Repair from the original Windows 7 installation DVD. The PC works fine now, but Service Pack 1 isn't installed. I have had to turn off automatic updates so that it won't get installed. Failing that, is there a way to disable the 'Service Pack 1' entry in 'Windows Updates' so that automatic updates can be enabled?
USB Mass Storage Install Failure?

May 25, 2012I have just received an alienware m17x, and for my school network we need windows 7 pro installed. I used my action pack dvd and tried upgrading. It failed. I then wiped my main drive my booting into the dvd, and fresh re installing windows. I've done this multiple times, and everytime it comes up saying it needs to restart, then upon restart says 'completing installation' -
but then it comes up saying 'windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware' then restarts and says 'windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation' - then restarts, shows me a boot option of four windows 7's and a windows setup rewind or mething, then shows the windows could not complete message again.

Aug 31, 2012I have been trying to install a bunch of windows updates, but every time I try it gets to 15% configured, then fails. It shuts down and restarts my computer and gives me a message that the updates failed. I'm not sure what to do here.

Jan 15, 2013I originally was failing 14 updates with 800b0100 and one other error code (forgot which). I went with manually installing them, and it took it down to 5 updates fail to install with only error code 800b0100.

I had some unstable RAM settings when first setting up the computer, where I think an update or so was occuring and the system crashing. Pretty sure only during the download process though.Anyways, I've done everything on this that I can find. SFC Scannow, System Update Readiness Tool, Reset content of catroot2, Remove any incorrect registry (none of the stuff they say to delete was even in there), The only step that did not go 100% smoothly was "Register the Windows Update Files":

Updates unnecessary' or something like that. Then I hit check for updates, and those updates become necessary once again, and, all those language packs and remote desktop optional updates that I hid, become unhidden again.

I've tried what they outlined in this thread, [URL] When I get to formatting the drive in Command Prompt it just stalls at 0% and says diskpart has encountered an error; the parameter is incorrect. see the system event long for more information.
I've tried changing SATA to IDE instead of AHCI in bios.
I've tried using a recovery disk for my Acer 3830tg, but it just stalls at 0%. I've tried using a genuine Vista Ultimate DVD, but it doesn't even detect a disk drive. It's a Corsair Force Series 90GB SSD F90 in an Acer 3830tg-6412 with 8GB of RAM.
Oh the SSD works fine, I was able to boot it up and run everything fine prior to trying to do a fresh install, which in hindsight is stupid
Windows 7 Wont Install, Hangs At Splash Page On Boot?
Oct 22, 2011I regularly clean and reinstall windows on my computer, but this time it won't work. I am trying to upgrade my system from 32 bit to 64 bit, and when I try to boot (from DVD or flash drive) it gets to the windows splash page but never gives the option to install. It's just the mouse on a blue background.
I've done everything I can think of, even downloaded a pirated version to see if it would make a difference!
Hard Drive Failure After Fresh Install
Sep 4, 2009I have just bought a brand new hard drive due to my last ones controller failed.

So the problem,
Did a fresh install of win 7 (Build 7229) two nights ago, all installed perfectly, next day (yesterday) went to boot up pc and had the dos error message - Disk boot failure, please insert system disk and press enter.
My first impression was it may have been an install failure, so i formatted the hard drive and reinstalled. shutdown the PC and rebooted up and i had the same error message, now after this, i got my failed hard drive out and after a lot of faffing around, BIOS found it and it gave me the same error message.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be. I have tried Windows startup repair, did not fix.
BIOS settings are
First boot device is Hard drive
second boot device is CD-ROM
(I have even swapped these around to boot from windows 7 and it just starts the setup procedure of installing windows drivers) I have even set boot order of HDDs so my main windows HDD is up top. Anyone got any clues.
Clean Install Failure (0x80070570 Error) On A Lenoveo T410s W Ssd?
Dec 24, 2012So I have spent the last few days troubleshooting the problem, I have tried most of the solutions I have found online, but still I get the 0x80070570 error at 14% of the install process. I have reformatted the hd prior to trying as well.some random observations:I have run hd diagnostics and everything passedI notice that in the BIOS setup utility that there are 3 SATA HDDs listed though I only have the one 'internal one' and no peripheralsI have downloaded and burned (and burned to USB) the .ISO file about five times with the same resultI haven't tried removing RAM because I only have one chip (4 gb) and I assume I cant have 'no' RAM to proceedAs I am sure you can imagine, it is driving me absolutely crazy.

I went out and bought myself a SSD 60 GB for my OS. So I'm thinking of putting on my SSD drive and just building my OS from scratch. But before that I was also thinking of reinstalling my OS but I have the full version. Then Windows 8 Beta is coming out month after next and was going to put my SSD drive on that but can always get another one. So any ideas how I should approach this.
