I have an game file which is exe and was originally developed to use touch screen controls. Is it possible to amend the cursors in the exe to show mouse pointers?gain apologies if this is not technically related to Windows 7. View 1 RepliesI have found a file named 'Card_content.xml' in my Nokia Memory Card (Fat Volume). When I try to open it with Notepad, it shows 'Access Denied'. I can not open, rename, copy, move, delete this file. I can see the content of this file using 'DiskInternals Linux Reader'. The Properties Dialog shows that this file has an attribute 'RHAX'. R - Read-only, H - Hidden, A - Archive, But what the 'X' denotes for. Please note that Properties Dialog does not have any column named 'Owner'. I am not able to change its attribute using CMD, CHMOD (coreutils) and other utilities. What the 'X' denotes for? How can I set or edit 'X' attribute of a file?

i cant edit the album or artist name. i had this option in past. and this options was disappeared i dont know why.
Have deleted files, registry keys etc., but still it pops up on opening Firefox. It does not, however, show when using IE [which I do not use generally but did so as a test]. The only place I have found any reference to this abysmal virus is in the clr.lst file and I am not sure if it is permissible or wise to delete the file or even to edit it since I am not sure of it's purpose.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed an old game R6Vegas2 to c:/games instead of the protected program files (default install location) the game it's self works fine, but it's a mod for this game that uses bat files, teknor6vegas2.exe which then injects it's code into the games .exe so I need to be able to edit the bat file and run it. So far all that happens is the dos cmd window opens and closes within2 seconds nothing else things that I have tried,disabled uac, taken ownership /full control copied a shortcut to the desktop (.bat file) and changed to run as admin all made no difference at all, in win xp it works without all this faffing around

I have corrected how the user name appears when logging in, via User Accounts, but this "source" seems un-editable. It appears in several places, when I install new programs etc. and I know that there must be a way to fix this.

I know the .ani & .cur files work for me as i had them working perfectly up until i clean installed onto my primary partition on my primary hard drive just the other day. The 'Mac' cursors are in %windir%Cursors btw.
If i select 'Windows Aero (system scheme)' cursor scheme, then re-select the Mac scheme and then Apply, the cursors of course change and stay throughout the session. After a reboot they revert to the default scheme however.
I've tried toggling the "Allow themes to change the mouse pointers" with a reboot.
Saving my current theme, changing the theme, switching back and rebooting.
And finally saving the theme for sharing (.themepack) changing to a different theme, applying the .themepack and rebooting.
All results are the same.
I have a suspicion it's a small reg setting (maybe a toggle setting, (value from 0-1)) but i'm not sure where it'd be and can't find anything relevant in the control panel.
No events are being reported.
Like the description said i made myself some awesome cursors and got them to work but each time i reboot it reverts back to the old windows areo cursor.I built these myself so i know there are no viruses in them.

There's probably a registry setting for it but I don't know where. A google search turned up nothing useful. It seems it's not something that interests many others. I'm running W7 Home Premium.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card(s) sometime after Christmas (as one of my GX2's is slowly dying now i'm stuck with 1 98GX2) and am deciding on a few options I would like some opinions on.
a) 2 Nvidia GTX275's (AKA GTX295) $600 for the 2
b) 1 GXT295 $750 (takes me back to the GX2 day's)
c) Or I swing the other way and go for an ATI card, but I cannot take advantage of Crossfire technology as i'm running a Nvidia chipset. so it would have to be a high end card to make it worth it IMO, probably the 5850 $400 as the 5870 is almost $600.

I have read that a simple cloning may not be the best approach for optimal performance. Should I do a clean install by using the boot disk I made when I first got the x201 along with the recovery media disks, then reinstall all programs?

I currently use an ATI X800 Pro. Although its lasted this long, ive had weird issue and bugs out of it and I would sort of prefer to go back to Nvidia. But i've heard that the only cards working with Direct X 11 are ATI for right now?

I know about EFS, but I am doing 3 laptops, one runs Windows 7 Home Premium and the other 2 run Vista Home Premium, none of them have EFS.
So what I am looking to do, is find a program that will let me encrypt a users home directory but not something where it has to be manually encrypted/decrypted, looking for something similar to what EFS does where it will encrypt/decrypt on the fly.
