ive been running a i5 -2500k system i built a year ago absolutely fine oc'd to 4.1ghz @1.248v i added a ocz agility 3 60gb ssd to use as an SRT cache device about 7 months ago and its been running like a dream, until recently when i turn the computer on it boots up windows in under 40secs but hangs/crashes whilst searching for network and i have to reset my computer. its quicker to find network on 2nd boot up although not everytime.
View 5 RepliesI have just put 64bit 7 on my pc after having 32bit 7 on it and I have noticed after the starting windows orb goes the screen turns blank for 10 secs then tarts allot slower than it use to on 32bit and 32bit never had that problem is there a way to stop this from happening?

It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing.For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.

It boots up fine up to the part where the four balls become the windows logo, but then freezes there everytime. When i try to select the windows start up repair it blacks out the screen and I cant do anything.
I know its not a faulty hard drive because its newly fitted and this problem occured previously on a different hard drive aswell.
Ok, so after I connect my bluetooth headphones to the computer and start listening to music they cut out and stop working after about 10 or so seconds. Any ideas where i should go with this?

This laptop will work fine when it is booted up and for ~30 minutes after that. Then it starts to get slow to the point where web pages refuse to load and it takes a good 2-3 MINUTES to open up Task Manager. CPU usage is not high at all when this happens. I have run Memtest86+ as well as Seatools for Windows and the diagnostic tools from the BIOS to rule out a hardware problem. I have backed up my files and reinstalled Windows, only to have the same thing happen. Scans with Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials have come up clean as well.
I just started using a new Toshiba laptop. Trouble is, opening and closing programs and browsing is slower then I feel it should be. Pages that loaded in 5 seconds on my old machine are taking 10 seconds on this new one, and opening programs causes a good 5 second delay. Also, once a webpage has finally loaded, scrolling jumps rather than move smoothly. Multiple tabs cause quite a bit of hanging as well.
The machine doesn't seem to be under stress, no fans kicking in or anything like that. But it's just not as quick as it should be. I've disabled a lot of things on startup that weren't required, and even turned off transparency in case it was hogging resources. I run AVG antivirus and Comodo Firewall.

I usually try and fix any computer error's by Googling the crap out of it until I fix it myself as I hate to be defeated but I have a problem that just started about a week ago and wont stop. I watch alot of movies online through streaming and recently the shows that i usually watch without a problem started taking alot of time to load and then as i start to play it freezes on me. What happens is I still hear the video but the picture freezes on me and then the browser starts flickering on and off the not responding. After it flickers and tries to fix the problem itself the screen goes black and computer shuts off then restarts. Im not sure what is going on but my whole windows 7 seems to be going so slow lately with slow startups as well.

This happens only when I try to access the contents of that folder. I've tried the following till now and havn't yet solved this problem.Scanned for viruses or spywares in the system. Used MBAM and TDSSKiller. No infections.Switched the View of that folder from Large Icons to Detail or List View.Customized the folder for "General" items. Right click on folder->Properties->Customize tab->Optimize this folder for General ItemsDefragmented the folder using Piriform Defraggler.So anyone knows what's going wrong with my system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed a retail copy of win 7 on my laptop and have been experiencing some issues. At first everything worked fine but out of the blue my desktop/folders have not been auto-refreshing. Whenever I try to delete or create a new folder I have to manually refresh to the folder in order to view it. When shutting down my laptop it takes 5+ minutes and when my desktop is loading after booting up the laptop it takes several minutes for everything to load and for the win 7 chime.
Finally, it won't allow me to update. When I try to use the windows updater it hangs for a while on "creating restoring point" (which may be normal) but then permanently hangs on installing update 1/16 at 0%. If I try canceling the update nothing happens and even when I try to shut down the laptop it attempts to install the updates but hangs on update 1/16.
From researching these issues I've realized that the auto-refresh problem is not uncommon and has something to do with a network. This may be unrelated but these problems only started to occur when I was transferring pictures via a USB stick.
Everytime i start my computer from cold i go through my bios screen then come to the windows 7 screen where the windows fly to you and float/wave It hangs wont go to the log in screen or anything. I have to do a force shut down with my power button. When i start my computer again it goes fast to the "windows did not boot properly screen" I click start windows normally and it boots super fast. and on every restart it boots fine. Just from a first cold start.. What could be the problem?

After a crash, it then hung at the Starting Windows screen. Assuming repair or reinstall of the OS was needed, I popped in my installation disk. It get so far as the "Setup is Starting" screen before it hung (further emphasized by the sound of the in-use CD/DVD drive ceasing activity noise).I'm completely stumped at this point and have no funds to get myself a replacement laptop, and it's an item in my possession that is sorely needed
View 6 Replies View RelatedIts my office comupter, it worked fine yesterday. when i came in today i just locked up on the start up screen. I ran a smart extended test on the drive it passed. I even purchased a new hard drive and replaced. I put in the install disc and wait for the recovery window, it starts with loading fles then starts windows and hangs up in same spot. I switched out the Ram and did the same thing. dont know what else it would be or to do.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I awoke my Toshiba laptop in the morning, only to find it hanging up with continuous HDD activity. After a while I did a hard shutdown and tried to restart, but the HDD activity continued, and after an hour of trying, it was barely past the start screen - zero chance of any useful activity.
It performs normally in command prompt, and I can barely get it booted in safe mode (HDD thrash eventually stops until I ask it to do anything). Task manager doesn't show any unusual processes or services, but the resource monitor does show the HDD activity. Chkdsk (thru command prompt) on the X and D partitions came out fine, but on the C drive it doesn't even get to 1% and slows to about 1 file/minute. I attempted a Start Repair, but it said nothing was wrong. Tried a System Restore, but for some reason no restore points could be found.
The HDD seems to be performing OK (I'm using robocopy/cmd prompt to copy all I can to an external HDD), with only the occasional I/O error. It's possible I caught a virus, although I'm generally cautious (Ad-Aware antivirus, all updates ASAP, regular scans with this and Malwarebytes).
I'd really, really like to find a way out of this without a complete reformat. I've tried stopping everything I could in Safe Mode, but to no avail. Also tried to uninstall my AV software (and anything else that seemed to be running at startup), but was denied there as well.
I'm at my whit's end with this. My PC shuts down fine but hangs on restart. It does this is both safe and normal mode. It appears to hang right before the HD would get turned off. The SHUTTING DOWN screen proceeds fine and the HD stops it's activity, the screen goes black (the HD light stays) and it just hangs there. Pressing the RESET button on the PC starts it up fine. If I am restarting from some utility (for example when installing Windows) it can hang with the RESTARTING WINDOWS screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my XPS caught fire and my mom gave me her old computer as she got a new one.i threw some good parts from my XPS into this Dimention 8400 so it has better specs to run windows 7.3GB of ram and my X800XT radeon videocard and the 3.0GHz HT 64 bit processorNow i installed windows 7 32 bit ultimate from my XPS and it takes 20 seconds to get to the logon screen, but after that once you log in the "Loading" screen takes 3-6 mins along with once the desktop shows up it takes another 5 mins or so to even press the start button and bring the start menu up, 45 seconds to 2 mins to bring the internet up and this is a FRESH install, as of like....20 mins from this post it finished installing. not even activated yet
