Sigmatel Drivers For Dell Inspiron 6000
Sep 4, 2009Anyone have any advice to find drivers for sigmatel audio for a dell inspiron 6000. I cannot get any drivers to work so far. Any help would be great.

May 3, 2009Just installed on my dell 6000 everything is fine accept the audio does not work. Anyone have any drivers. I have tried these AUD_allOS_x5511_v5511_PV_IDTGUI_v005 with no luck.

Nov 6, 2009When I am listening to music, sometimes the sound is distorted for a short period of time.
This also happens if I return from a break, and my display turns on when I move the mouse (while the music is still playing).

Feb 14, 2009Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop, dual boot of XP Home and Windows 7, install of public beta went really well. In Windows 7 I have a volume icon in task bar, but no audio output I can hear... Windows 7 is using the digital output with spidf, which I can't use, it shows no other option. I can't seem to install the original drivers (from Dell, for XP), they fail (sez they're not the right drivers for my hardware, even though I tried installing as Administrator).
In XP, device manager reports the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, what am I missing here? I think I'm needing to install the "legacy audio" drivers?
Dell Inspiron 6000 Function Keys
Jun 30, 2009Installed Windows 7 and all going quite well. One problem which I can't resolve - the Fn/F3 (battery) and Fn/F10 (open disc drive) do not work. Fn/F2 to deactive wireless is OK.
I'm assuming it's a driver problem but I could be definitely wrong with this thinking.
Anybody got an idea?

The first thing that you should try is to connect using the wired network and apply all updates. It's possible that a driver may have been added that was not part of the retail package (this certainly happens with printers).
The second thing that you should be aware of is that there are a number of different chipsets used for the wireless network in the Inspiron so the following link may or may not help. (A solution is given in the last but one post.)

Mar 2, 2010I'm having trouble tacking down an audio driver for my Dell Inspiron E1705/9400. It has a Sigmatel 9200 HD Audio Codec. As Indicated from device manager

The audio card is able to output sound however while playing back any prolonged audio, ie music, the playback is unacceptably interrupted with digital artifacts such as skips and pops. This behavior is experienced using a variety of drivers. All drivers have been uninstalled using device manager and then the system has been rebooted before installing the next driver. Also all of the other dell recommended drivers have been installed without a hitch. Finally all windows patches are up to date.I started with the driver provided by Microsoft and continued to try the recommended driver from dell, R171788. I have also tried the following additional driver packages from dell, R108276, R147073, and R171789.
