View 2 RepliesThis has been a problem for me since Vista. I was hoping that once I upgrade to Windows 7, this problem would go away, but it didn't.
I set my screensaver to the slideshow that comes with Windows. The folders I use is on my only SATA HDD. The power scheme is the default setting.
Most of the time, the screensaver slideshow would not come on. Instead, the desktop would be displayed until the power scheme turns the monitor off. I set the screensaver to come on after 15 minutes, and the LCD monitor to turn off after an hour of inactivity.
Again, I had this problem already with Vista, but it's the same issue with Windows 7. Does anyone have any idea why the screensaver doesn't start after 15 minutes?
I use the Windows Live Photo Gallery screensaver, ticked for 'photos and video from...'. When it runs, photos are fine but videos show with a grayed out media file icon. These are just simple .avi files that play with media player, vlc, or whatever.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have created a slideshow in Microsoft media however when I burn it to a DVD the music and the pictures no longer are in sync. It appears that the pictures move faster off of the DVD than they do when created in media. This is the case whether played on a DVD player or a computer however when played in media it works perfectly.

View 7 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me how to display the filenames along with the photos I've included in my customized wallpaper and screensaver?
It would come in useful if I particularly liked a photo currently being displayed and wanted to locate it so that I could maybe print it out. I was able to do this with my screensaver in XP.
I just bought a DELL OPTILEX w/ Windows 7 Home edition.I click on PICTURES folder:And the pictures, as everyone knows, area displayed in thumbnails....well the thumbnails display the fax picture viewer logo on all ......NOT the actual picture. I only can see the actual picture when I double click on it and it does open the picture. But since for my job I need to select pictures to attach I need to be able to see the picture in the thumbnail. But I cant!I tried changing thumbnails size to all sizes and nothing. I tried going to My Computer, right click, properties, advance system setting, advance, settings, selecting ALL, selecting the correct one, deselecting all and still nothing. No way to display the pictures at all!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have made a slide show of our recent holiday, the pictures of which are now all on a DVD Disc. I now want to take copies of these pictures to make prints. Rather stupidly, I reformatted my camera CF Card so do not have the originals.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI started out thinking it was only an IE issue, but now I know I have something else going on. In applications using some unknown software, pictures do not display. This includes internet explorer and some other software also(H&R Block tax software for example). Strangely, I downloaded Chrome after I had the issue and it works flawlessly. The problem appears to be a windows based issue not an Internet Explorer issue. I have chased firewalls, anti virus software and checked boxes and nothing seems to be wrong.

I thought it will fix itself, but it hasn't what can I do to fix it??? an exaple of what is happening is that my movies and pictures used to show in the folder before you opened it and now it doesn't. My movies only shows the default program that opens the movies the same with my pictures.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn win XP you could add the picture's path when using "My pictures" as a screensaver. When you have tons of photos - I found it very useful. This feature disappeared in Win 7. how to make Windows show the path?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result. In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem that seems to be compounding itself (maybe it's my imagination)... whenever I scroll in a page in IE8 with Flash content on it (side/top bar ads) the page becomes sluggish, jittery, etc. Does anyone know if there's a fix for this and is it caused by the ActiveX Flash plugin or from IE8 itself?
I'm not having this problem with Chrome or Firefox with the Flash plugin.
I am running Windows 7 premium and cannot get the slideshow to run nor change my desktop background picture. I have tried all the settings on the laptop but nothing works.
View 5 Replies View Relatedlm looking for some software that acts in a similar way to windows slideshow which has similar options like being able to specify the time each slide comes up and randomly show images in specified folders, now you might say windows already does that.however the reason lm asking is because lm looking for a software that has an extra feature of being able to run a slide show of 2 or more images on one monitor.. that is to say having up to 4 images running as a slideshow, is there a way to do this as lve only found an old outdated program from early 2004 which seems to be labelled a virus by my antivirus software despite scanning a few times manually and finding nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy desktop background, which was a slideshow from one of my folders of photos suddenly froze on one picture which showed the top one third correctly, the second third as multicolored horizontal lines and the bottom one third as grey. I was unable to affect this in any way using 'personalize' but finally got rid of it by moving the folder of photos elsewhere and restarting. I am now only able to select a solid color. When I try to set anything else, I can set everything as I wish in the personalize window but when I click 'save changes' it reverts to solid color again. If I right click any picture and select 'Set as desktop background', absolutely nothing happens. I have tried restoring to an earlier time which had no effect on the problem.

After that, i cannot click ''OK'', it will not work, respond or anything...neither will cancel, I HAVE to hit the X which kills al my actions...also it will jump straight back to my last used theme if i click OK....so it wont ''OK'' but it does jump back to my last saved theme...very wierd...I have this with any theme downlaoded or not makes no difference, also weird is that the screen shows tearing or something when i scroll up and down!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a picture and start a slideshow, there are two icons that appear on the taskbar. One says Windows Photo Viewer, and the other says, Photo View Slide Show. The taskbar is set to always combine icons and I am unable to Pin a photo to the taskbar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt work I set up a computer with dual monitors. One of the monitors is a tv that we want nothing except a powerpoint presentation on it. So I created the powerpoint, ran the slideshow on the tv and minimized it on the other monitor. Works great, unless I open other programs on the pc then the slideshow freezes on the tv! If I open anything, ms paint, firefox, any window or program the slideshow freezes until the program is minimized. Then it continues. How do I get around this?
apparently this is because the slideshow is run in full screen. If I go to "set up slide show" and run by an individual window then all is fine but then I have borders.
This is probably not the right website to ask about website development, but surely some of the community has some experience.I was wondering if anyone knows of any free open-source JavaScript script that creates a slideshow with sliding frames. What I need is one that is free, has no kind of watermark, and can be modified as much as needed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to run a photo gallery slide show in a web easy 8 made website. Not an online solution. In order to achieve that, the slide show should be able to be inserted as a HTML component into web easy The slide show doesn't have to be fancy, but it should be able to set auto start, and manual choice of picture using the PC mouse. It should be free for private and business use.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 "Slide Show" always starts from the first photo. XP started from any photo selected. I want to be able to start from any photo. It is essential when sorting photos into separate files.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this weird bug when using the desktop background slideshow, after some time (I've no idea how long) it just stops on one of them and sticks with it as if I specified that background was the one I wanted instead of the slideshow. The only way I've managed to stop it happening is if I keep the Personalization window open after clicking Save Changes.
