View 4 RepliesOne of our customers has a problem when trying to use this method.
When he right clicks a document (whether it's .pdf, .doc etc etc) and clicks "Send to", and then clicks "Send to mail...", the only thing that happens is that a empty dialog box appears, with the title "Error", and a confirmation box that says "OK".
When he then clicks "OK", nothing happens.
I played around a bit with default programs and associations, and ended up with removing the "Send to mail..." option completely.
I have tried to right click --> send to --> send to mail on my own computer, and it works flawlessly.
The user is running Windows 7 pro on a Dell Latitude E4300.
The default mail program is Lotus Notes v. 8.5, but Outlook is also installed and is associated with all e-mail options except the "mailto:" protocol and the ".mapimail" filetype. These two are associated with Lotus Notes.
The user wants to be able to send documents by using this method, and use it so Lotus Notes is the mail-program used for right click --> Send to --> Send to mail... option.
Is there any ideas around this problem? Please do not hesitate to ask about more info.
I am missing the mail recipient option in the sub menu off Send To. I have checked that it is in the send to folder and it is in the shell. The other user on the computer can do this. So I copied that icon and replaced the one that was not working. Same result. I have checked the program defaults. I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've loaded Windows 7 and Office 2003 on my desktop. However whenever I try to Route Recipient from Word it start by giving me a message that says.A program is strying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No".I respond to Allow access and then choose a recipient from my address book to send to only to receive this message.General mail failure. Close Microsoft Office Word, restart the mail system and try again. I've tried closing word and Outlook and restarting them with no success. I've researched and found this problem when Vista was first released but the registry entry fixes identified as work arounds there don't work. how we can still use the routing recipient in Word 2003 while in Window 7.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn instruction from my ISP I deleted my windows live mail email account to try to overcome a repetitive issue of having to re-enter my password each time I hit sent/receive mail. When I went to tools/accounts and hit remove, all of my emails disappeared.
I have been through the process of trying to import them back into windows live mail, I have uninstalled/reinstalled, deleted the windows live mail folder (having kept a copy on an external drive) and have tried a variety of imports to no avail.
I even installed Outlook 2007 and tried an import and even an export to Outlook 2007 direct from Windows Live Mail. Although there has been some progress in respect of seeing an export/import happen (i.e the emails are counted) and folders appearing in Outlook in the left hand side, there are no messages evident within the folders. I have even managed to appear to import them back into WLM but although the folders appear in the left column the messages are not there.
I did not export the messages prior to the account removal and adding back in WLM, which I suppose I should have done, but I have not deleted the WLM folder in user/.../application data/local/Microsoft, so they are still there but not visible. New mail has now been added from the server to further complicate issues.
Is there a way to get all of my mail back to how it was? I appreciate that numerous folder appear in the left hand side as storage folders with some unknown names.
I can receive mail but not send. I have gone to my email client to get the settings. They even took control of my computer and did the setup and it still won't send mail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Office 2007 Home & Student Edition.I use Windows Live Mail for my email client.I installed the office product, and created a new Word Document.I click on the Office Button on top, select SEND TO EMAIL.. expecting Windows Live Mail to show up (set as my default mail program.) Instead I get this error: Logon Failed. You Must log on to Microsoft Exchange to Access your address book. Error Code: "unspecified Error".So I figure, Ok, maybe Office 2007 is new (even thought it's 2010 now), and there might be some fixes.I downloaded the SP2 for Office 2007, thinking this must be a common problem.. as my computer is BRAND new.I JUST installed Windows Live Mail on it... and Just installed Office 2007. I haven't had it for more than a few hours.I install the SP2 Patch for OFF2007 fine. I do some searching and find many Microsoft threads which indicate how to "use a Non-MS Email client with Office 2007" - Now wait! Isn't Windows Live Mail an MS product? So then, I find many other forums where they indicate you can click SEND TO EMAIL 3 times and it will work. So... Just to confirm the mind of the hive is alive and well.
