Running A Program As Another User Without Prompting For A Password?
Dec 1, 2011
In our corporate environment we have an application that accesses a centralized database as the currently logged in user. The nature of this application requires giving the user read/write/execute permissions directly to the database.Obviously this is a security risk since an educated user would then be able to access the database directly from the command line and be able to do things beyond what the application allows. What we'd like to do is create alternate domain accounts for each user that have the necessary DB permissions and then launch the application as that user instead of the logged in user.I'm aware of the built in RunAs command but, since that prompts for the password, it wouldn't be any different than the current user having access.
I have a computer that no matter what network i try to connect to (with a password), it never asks me to put in a password after clicking the connect button. I have several other laptops that work just fine and this happens at multiple locations so it's not an issue from the router.I have scanned for malware using MalwareBytes and Combofix which both came up with nothing besides adware, reinstalled the wireless network driver from Compaq/HP, and deleted all current profiles. Attempted to add the wireless network manually doesn't work either. After clicking the Add button, nothing happens or comes up on the screen.how to get the Windows Zero Configuration to work again?
I am attempting to setup Homegroup for first time on new computer, I was asked to set a password. The first pw was only 7 letters. It was rejected as requiring 8 letters. Attempted to re-enter new password and program states its the wrong password. When I go to the homegroup page there is no link to see and change password.
i want to creat new user in AD ,but this message appear: password doesn't meet password policy, before i change some policies but now they are not defiend
Anyone else have this issue with the latest Widcomm Bluetooth drivers that it keeps randomly popping a UAC prompt for AdminUtil.exe? Seems like it pops up whenever I plug some device in.The Bluetooth is an Asus USB-BT21, and the only driver that they provide is in Beta...I found seemingly related post on another forum, but it's all German and I couldn't read it:
I have saved several passwords in Windows 7 (specifically: passwords for webdav drives and a SharePoint site which I connect to using SharePoint Workspace and Outlook's calendar). Now every time I want to use these services an authentication prompt pops up, already filled in with the correct information. Isn't there a way to completely automate this, without me having to verify every time, i.e. can't Windows just use the saved credentials without bringing up that annoying authentication
Recently in the past couple of weeks my computer has been freezing at random internals with absolutely no warning or prompting at all. It's not a case of me opening a specific program, or making it perform memory-intensive tasks -it will just completely freeze up out of the blue. This morning, all I did was turn it on and by the time I came back from making my cup of tea it had frozen itself. The other day I was typing a sentence onto a word document with no other programs open and it froze. The entire laptop becomes unresponsive -the capslock key doesn't respond, although interestingly enough my graphics tablet seemed to still be responsive (the lights would change colour like normal when I use my pen on it). The only option I have is to do a hard reboot.
This has been happening intermittently for the past couple of months (perhaps starting around June?), but it's only recently starting to get worse. Before it happened once a week, and now it's starting to happen about once a day. I've run a virus check, registry clean and deleted some of my most recently installed programs but neither of them have helped.
The computer runs fine otherwise -no excessive slowing down, no crashing programs..
My main user account is my own , AdminMy secondary user account is for the missus, but , when she logs on using her account, everything runs slow slow slow, internet, picture load ups, program start-ups everything. ... . . what can this be down too and how could i speed up her account.
I have a desktop and a laptop both running Windows 7 Ultimate x86. My desktop is being primarily used as a media server with external hard drives attached to it. I was able to share my external hard drives over the network and my laptop was able to detect them. Right now "password protected sharing" is turned off, but I want to turn it on so that no one except me can access that network. My question is, what is my user name and password? It asks me for my user name and password but I never set one up. Is there a way to find out what my user name and password is? And is there a way to change it so I can pick my own user name and password?

Shut down my netbook off last night and cut it on this morning, put in my password and it was telling me it was incorrect. I have everything backed up, but I can't get to even restore to factory new. What can I do?
I cannot remember a password I had set on Windows 7. The user is set to have administrative privileges. How can I reset the password without losing any data. When testing on another machine, i went into local users and groups, right click and it gives me the option to reset password, but a message comes up to say that i might lose information if I reset the password this way:(
How do I go about restoring my password with not losing any indormation and setting?
We bought as exdisplay PC & they told us it would be restored to factory settings. When i start up it immediately tells me user name & password is incorrect. I click okay & it wants me to log into kiosk. From there I have to switch user. I've looked in user accounts a dozen times - there is only on user account (admin) & it's in my name. So where or what is kiosk? I've done the whole "regedit" thing but I don't have a default folder under profiles.
i want to know that how to unlock the user password. i.e: when we turn on the computer after processing the windows the password protection come so how to unlock it.
I attempt to connect to my wireless broadband connection but when i click 'connect' a windows security pop up arrives stating that I need to provide a username and password for 'Network authentication'. I dont have these nor do I believe that I have ever included these perviously. This action has only recently appeared and I cannot 'bypass' it. I have other computers linked to the same wifi connection and these are operating just fine (the problem computer runs Windows 7 and is the only one with Win 7). So at least I know that it is not the internet connection itself.Maybe not of any importance but this problem only occurred after the unit ran out of battery power and has not been able to access my broadband service since the subsequent recharge.I have visited Win 7 Network centre on the computer to attempt to establish the problem (it recognises I have one) and been through all the troubleshooting options but no resolution.
My father has a laptop that he received from his work. My father works at a high school and the school is currently closed for the summer vacation. All of the technicians are on vacation now and the school board is also closed. There is no technician to help my father. The computer technician has set up his user name and password. It has been working for the last few months but suddenly, a few days ago, when he types in his password, he gets the message that his username or password are incorrect.
I have tried starting it up on safe mode, but it is still asking for his login and it is still incorrect. I have tried logging into the administrator password but it is not a blank password and nothing I have put in works. I have also tried switching user but there is no other user. I have tried restoring the computer but it states that I need to have administrator clearance to restore. I have the windows 7 disk but I am unsure how to activate it. My father has not made a password restore disk and when I tried to follow the instructions of saving the password on a usb or a disk, it did not work because I did not have the password disk.
I am currently trying to reinstall Windows 7, as that is what a lot of forums were telling me to do but it is taking forever. I am hearing people tell me to download recovery tools, but I have no idea how to do this as the only computer I have currently is my father's computer, which I cannot get onto the internet! (I am typing from an ipod). How do I download ISOs and recovery files when I cannot access the internet?
I inherited a computer from my mother, but nobody knows the password. I would like to change the Administrative user name and password to download photos from my computer. I am running Windows 7 professional on a 4 core Intel i5 laptop. I have a Fortran application which runs in a DOS command window. This application is compute intensive and takes a long time to run. Is it possible to run it in parallel using more than one core to do the computations? If so, how can I do this? I have two windows 7 computers networked and would like to run a program, which is installed on computer 2, on computer 1 but don't really want to install it on computer 1. Is there a way of doing this through the network?
This program has been running for 12 hours without interruption, and it is still chunking away but slower. That is it seems to pause 5-10 seconds before flashing up the next file. I don't think my data is unusually large at just over 1 million files, and my hard drives total 2,946 GB with each well under 50% used capacity. All other programs can run smoothly and Windows Task Manager Shows no program is stuck. But if I need to wait for 1+ million files to be examined at 5 seconds each, it won't be done in my lifetime! What do I need to do differently?
