Netgear Router Needs To Be Changed To WEP
Dec 6, 2009I just installed the Windows 7 upgrade. My printer would not print so I called Dell. I was on the phone with them for 3 hours trying to get it to print. They eventually told me that my wireless router, (Netgear WNR2000) had a wrong IP address of 168. something. They told me I had to change it to a 192. number. They further told me to change to WEP. I went to the wireless site and typed in 192.168.1.1 and logged in. I changed it to WEP but then the internet would not work. I do not know what to do. Can someone please help me?

It finds the network but when I try to connect it doesn't ask for the password, it just tries to connect and then comes up connection error and sends me to the useless troubleshooter. Jul 25, 2010I used to have Vista basic installed on my Medion Intel Core 2 Duo machine but then gave Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) a try.After buying Win 7 Ultimate I want to install it and erase Ubuntu (mainly because of poor support for Tascam audio/midi interfaces). I do not want to install them side by side and then erase Ubuntu as I want to avoid the Fix MBR issue.After inserting the installer DVD I get the usual message "Click any key to boot from CD" but pressing keys on my USB keyboard or mouse does not appear to do anything. I have tried various keyboards including serial port devices but the result is always the same.Has Ubuntu changed anything in the BIOS or else how can I solve this problem of not being able to use the keyboard when trying to boot?

Nov 22, 2011i ran the program speedbit video accelerator and ever since then my computer notifies me that my browser settings have been changed. It does it more frequently at times and not so frequent at other times. Iv had another program on my computer for a few months that has run great everyday of the week up until today. Iv always run this program from the desktop shortcut, it has a system check and it always goes good except now when i try and open it from the desktop shortcut the system check looks like what i attached its supposed to have all green check marks. i can run the program now but i have to open it thru my internet explorer. and the desktop icon changed for the programs shortcut.

Apr 21, 2011I have many pictures on my PC ( about 20,000 jpg files ) that I have backed up to an external hard disk and also burned on DVD. I used beyond compare tool to compare the pictures that on my PC with the pictures that on the external drive and the DVD - all was identical. Few days ago I have compered it again and saw that the files size is not the same meaning both "size" and "size on disk" properties of the files on my PC is less ( in several KB ) then the files on hard disk and DVD.
I use several SW like Picasa and Photoshop but only to view the pictures not edit them so I don't know what cause this change.

The desktop background is different (I think it reverted to blue-white bird puffs HP one), the icons are very small, Microsoft Word 2000 was gone, Google Chrome disappeared from lower tray! In addition, history disappeared from Firefox! (that is what I have noticed - so far). What is going on??I thought maybe that was some update but the most recent update was yesterday and was about MSecurity Essentials.I googled the problem and after I typed winword.exe- I found Microsoft Word, it sort of- reinstalled itself and now it looks a bit different.I went to Program FIles 86 to reinstall Microsoft Word shortcut on desktop, and it is there, however, it doesn't look like a Microsoft logo-as before, it looks like files .Also, all my documents were gone! So I did more "googling" and was able to find my MW docs this way: Computer-C-users-me-My Documents.However, I cannot access these documents through Microsoft Word any more! I can only find them through the above route.

I tried searching on this forum for similar issues, most of them have been corrected by changing shell icon folder from regedit. I can locate that on my system.
