It was working great and I noticed that it would not recognize an external drive I was going to install some progs from, even though I can go in to Admin Tools and see it there, and then I tried taking it online and it says Windows Explorer not responding all the time, so I think the best bet at this point is to restore it back to out of the box condition.I just started tweaking on it, so it's not like I'll be losing much work.
im trying to restore my X51 to its factory state so when the SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS comes up there is no alienrespawn or Dell DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup, Iv gave it a shot from alienrespawn app when i click on restore its says that it will restore to Orginal factory state so restart after that the SYSTEM RECOVERY.
have formatted my hard disk and made partition in it to install new windows 7 professional now i cannot find the system recovery to go back to the factory setting status. Unfortunately i couldnt made the system recovery disk before installing the new windows.
I recently did a system restore to factory settings and now my computer is running very slow. I have done all the windows updates and checked for any updates on the drivers. I also defraged it. I noticed that the physical memory is always very high between 85 and 100. The CPU is 10-50.
but can't seem to find the right post. I want to set my PC Dell Inspiron 560 Windows 7, back to the factory settings as I just bought a new one and I'm selling this one.I have the CDs to do this, but when it comes on the screen, there is so much "jumble" on the screen, and I have no clue what it means, or what to do. I hit f12, when the Dell logo appears. Is there an easier way to do this, or can someone explain what I do, I am totally clueless on this.
I want to restore my Alienware R-2 to its factory setting. Here's the problem I have:
1. Alienrespawn can't find anymore my factory setting since I already have formated with the window 7 disc. 2. When I push F8 on startup, the option RESET TO FACTORY STATE is not available in repair option. 3. The Factory image is STILL on my hard drive in a separated partition.I can even explore it.
How can I have access to this image and recover my computer with it. So far, alienrespawn can't find it automaticaly. On startup, I do not have the option anymore.
When i started my laptop..the system went to startup repair mode..the startup repair mode did not worked n i went to ''restore to factory setting ''.Now the main problem arised. The factory setting later asked to reboot the system .the system failed to reboot.it gave the msg as ''bootMGR file '' missing.I was told by a local tech to use operating cd to repair the laptop. Now wat i saw the hard disk partion failed to That is before it was C:drive 50 gb & D: drive 450 gb.Now it was C:drive 498 gb & D: drive 1.98 gb,Which means i have lost all my important data which was in my hard disk .Is there no way for the data recovery. How come ''restore to factory setting failed ''?
It is my netbook. I bought it from a nonprofit in Greenlake so I could attend Edmonds Community College.I had to reset to factory settings after Security Essentials prompted me to during an WIFI session. Now, it won't recognize my password. What can I do? It's a valuable netbook and I need it for my desperate job search.I can prove I have good character and am not breaking any rules. My profile is on LinkedIn, WorkSource, and I have social networking sites, too.
Its a laptop. Bluescreen shows up for split second so I can't see the error code. I tried pressing Ctrl + F11 during boot but didn't work. Any another thing I can try before I throw it out? Don't say 'contact Dell'.
I have taken many computers back to factory condition and never had any problems. This time, after backing up all my files to disc (15), in total, I have taken this HP laptop back to factory condition. There is no problem there. The restore is fine but I cant seem to load the discs I created. I have turned off the laptop completely, as directed and started it again with the alt f10 keys, which should automatically load my back up but nothing is happening and if I try to open the discs on their own, I get an error message saying that the path isn't there. I have already re-installed my various purchased software but it is the photos and personal files that I particularly want to get back. I have my own photos safely in a box but these photos belonged to someone else
I was trying to restore the computer the FIRST TIME I got it, but I've found out that the Recovery copy won't make any changes because I have two(2) Program Files for Internet Explorer, one is for 64bit OS, and the other is 32bit (x86).I've tried to enter in the command prompt: takeown /f "C:Program Files (x86)" /r /d n and it displays ERROR: The current logged on user does not have ownership privileges on the file (or folder) "C:Program Files (x86)". But I am the administrator and the owner of this Hitachi Laptop Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit OS.I could not play any movies via internet, and I don't know what plug-ins are missing, so I want to restore the computer to its Factory setting.
My notebook (HP Envy 14) had been attacked by malware, and after eventually destroying the virus, I've realized that the system files/programs were severely damaged. For instance, when I attempt to open Internet Explorer or Firefox, a window appears, asking me to browse for a program to open the "unrecognized" Internet Explorer with... and this process applies to most of my programs, such as Microsoft Word (in order to open Word, I must indirectly open a word file document, it's impossible to simply click on Word from the start menu). So, that's why I decided to return my notebook to its original state, using the System Restore factory option. However, when I attempt to run system restore (after saving all of my important files onto an external hard disk), an error message comes up: "Error: Recovery Manager cannot run from the hard drive. Recovery Manager must be run using recovery media to perform a Factory Reset." What exactly is "recovery media" and why is this message appearing?
Having a little trouble restoring my computer to factory settings. I dont know why but I cant seem to just do it through the advanced menu because it says i dont have a restore point. Does anyone else know how to Restore my computer totally without having to buy a new operating system, Or even Just using a old one.
My problem is with my hp laptop running windows vista. laptop is hp pavilion dv6225us. I recently had a virus/malware attack on my system, removed it, but the system is damaged (Security center & updates cant be started etc) . I want to restore the comp using the acer feature "restore to factory settings". But I wonder, must I have a Win7-installation CD after the restore?? Because the computer came with preinstalled Windows 7 when I bought it. Keep in mind that it's a factory settings restore not a complete format c (i think) I've done a backup on hardrive "D" of my current system in case of anything going wrong. If a Cd is required, could you tell me another way to format the comp without buying the CD? My security center is damaged, so restore to point doesnt work either. If you got any solutions to how to start security center except setting it to "automatic" in services.msc (Since this doesnt work), please post 'em.
Okay, my computer is very clogged at the moment and I would like to do a complete restore, but I have some files that I need to keep. Is there a way I can do a complete restore but keep some of the files (no external hard drive).
I have a dell Inspiron n7010 and im trying to reformat my computer. I backed up all my personal files into an external hdd. However when I try to restore my laptop to its factory settings, I get stuck. Upon booting up my computer I press f8 to get into the advanced boot menu. From there I select system repair but after selecting that, it always gets stuck at windows is loading files. It doesn't look my computer is loading anything either and it doesn't make sounds as of it were.
For a variety of reasons, I want to do a clean install on my laptop, which is a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7. I don't have any Windows disks (it's 2 years old and I'm fairly sure I wasn't provided any), so I'm trying to do it through advanced boot options. When I hit F8 during startup and select repair, I am shown the screen "Windows is loading files..." and then the system starts as usual, rather than giving me options for a fresh install, which the description (and every set of instructions I've seen) would suggest.
