Factory Setting System Restore Computer Very Slow?
Sep 17, 2012
I recently did a system restore to factory settings and now my computer is running very slow. I have done all the windows updates and checked for any updates on the drivers. I also defraged it. I noticed that the physical memory is always very high between 85 and 100. The CPU is 10-50.
i was havin probs with my pc DELL isnpiron 17R ,,it was about missing of some storage drivers ,, i contacted a dell agent ; after he viewed the device manger and trying to reinstall them he couldn't and he told me that i've ghost or something in my registery and i need to do a restore to factory settings..i tried to shut down pc and turn it on again then i pushed the F8 button and i choosed " Repair Your Computer " and then i got " windows loading files " ,, stuck on it ,,,i tried to restart the pc and do it again but nothing i tried to remove battery and placed it again and retry but nothing i stucked on the same page.i used registry boost program on this site ,, after scan ,, i had a high damaged registery.
It was working great and I noticed that it would not recognize an external drive I was going to install some progs from, even though I can go in to Admin Tools and see it there, and then I tried taking it online and it says Windows Explorer not responding all the time, so I think the best bet at this point is to restore it back to out of the box condition.I just started tweaking on it, so it's not like I'll be losing much work.
im trying to restore my X51 to its factory state so when the SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS comes up there is no alienrespawn or Dell DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup, Iv gave it a shot from alienrespawn app when i click on restore its says that it will restore to Orginal factory state so restart after that the SYSTEM RECOVERY.
have formatted my hard disk and made partition in it to install new windows 7 professional now i cannot find the system recovery to go back to the factory setting status. Unfortunately i couldnt made the system recovery disk before installing the new windows.
I have an Acer Aspire timeline computer I bought 2 years ago. This computer advertised great battery life, internal cooling, and all sorts of other cool things....unfortunately, it was all a lie. But enough about that, As of like 3 days ago, I noticed my computer would respond slowly and take forever to complete a shutdown. I thought nothing of it until I decided to scan it usingSuperAntiSpyware. It came back with 40 tracking cookies, which I deleted. Upon rebooting my computer, I noticed it was still running slowly. So I decided a system restore would be niceI tried the first availible restore date. That apparently failed. Then I tried several others, with no success. I kept getting error codes telling me that the system restore failed to extract the file. It said the disk failiure might have been caused by bad sectors....I have no idea what that means. Ive tried multiple restore dates, they all come back with the same message.
I do not have Norton on my computer ( I read this was part of the problem in many other machines with the same restore error, but just to make it clear, that is not part of the problem with my computer). I can only use my computer in safe mode, because the regular boot mode is wayy too slow and laggy. Also I have plenty space on my computer so it couldnt possibly be slowing down because its getting full or something.
I have an Acer Aspire 4730z laptop, upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. Did the upgrade install, but unable to by-pass the eRecovery Management. The 3 options are 1. Restore system from factory default. 2. Restore system from user's backup and 3. Exit. Option 1 and 2 are grayed out. Have disable the D2D Recovery option in the Utility screen. But still unable to by-pass the eRecovery Management. If am unable to by-pass this, my only option is to insert my recovery disk and restore to factory default losing data store on HD.
I have a Dell Studio 1557, I bought it and am trying to restore to Factory to make sure that all of previous owner's files are gone. I made a recovery disk that just jump starts the process. I used the recovery manager, and can get to formating of the OS partion and I ok I then get " The Parameter is incorrect" and I cannot get any further.
I want to restore my system to factory settings. When I purchased my system it has Vista OS installed in it.Later I installed Windows 7 twice. Now if I restore it will Vista be my OS now? I want windows 7 to be my OS.
I tried restoring the computer to factory settings but after restoring and backing up the computer restarted and it wont go further than the startup page ..there's this error in 'setting up the services to install' windows it says to restart to continue installing windows...
I want to install my windows 7,office,photoshop,drivers and some other software on my HDD and then save everything in a separate partition of my disk so that if I want to restore my system to the point where I have everything installed and running I can boot from the disk partitions and get it all done.Pretty much what laptops do with the system restore function on boot without needing a working OS.Simply a boot that will get my windows 7,office,photoshop,drivers and some other software installed again.Laptops have this function and I would like to have it on my desktop.

1st off, My user name is not a joke. I have a hp G72-B27CL Notebook that was purchased online from aGoodwill auction. The notebook looks brand new & in their listing for the auction they said it just needed a hard drive so I put my WD 500 GB hd in it & attempted to do a system recovery. It went through the whole process & ended with Welcome TO YOUR NEW HP COMPUTER, About a minute later it was showing Restoration Incomplete with the options to Retry or try to find out what the problem was, Well it would only allow me to try again, Which I did (actually 2 more times) Of course same results. Their is no recovery CD'S that came with the computer, However it does have the windows product key # on the back of it. This computer will not let me do anything else except keep trying to recover it. (Which is a total waste of time) Should I erase everything on that hard drive ? It really has nothing I care if I lose or not & how would I go about erasing the hard drive ? The computer I'm talking about wont let me do anything except what I have shared.
And I don't want to put the hard drive in another computer & mess up what ever computer I put it in. This really is a bummer because I felt I was getting a good deal + helping out a organization, So the bottom line is right now I have a pretty laptop that doesn't operate & I am currently down $232.00 + shipping cost. I truly apologize for the length of this post, But as I stated from the start I'm truly lost. Any suggestions & please remember you are replying back to someone that is truly lost, so if at all possible if you choose to respond. Talk in language I understand.
Well i have a gateway computer and windows 7 i have lost the cd and i have no access to the admin account since i have forgot the password so im on a standard user account and i need to do a system restore.
his Compaq laptop keeps automatically performing a factory reset. This time it seems when he was installing Service Pack 1, it began the factory restore operation.
I remember a while back I got a BSOD, but I fixed it by reformatting my C drive, this didn't remove my OS or touch anything on my D drive however. I would now like to do the same, not because I have a problem but because my computer is becoming sluggish and I haven't reformatted for a long time. However, searching up how to reformat the C drive, without removing this OS seems literally impossible, every post I see just says the following: get your OS disk. Despite this, I managed to get the C drive back to factory defaults while keeping the OS, all my drivers for my hardware (graphics card, sound card etc.) intact. I would like to do the same again, if it is actually possible. This was originally a box PC so I don't have any CDs except for the one for my new graphics card which I replaced a faulty one with.
My Dell Inspiron N7110 keeps crashing on startup. I briefly see a blue screen and receive the error "Stop 0x0000007B". I tried to run startup repair but it says it could not fix the problem. Here are the details[CODE]
I have the original discs supplied to me by acer, had to zero out the new HDD because their tech didn't know what they were doing. So now how do I and what is the partition size? acer aspire 5750-completely restore computer to factory default settings on new HDD what is the % of OS partition size (100% is default) but 100gb is minimum for windows (about 40%)
I have had Win 7 64bit installed on my C: Partition which contains System Files and Program Files. Data is stored on Partition E:. The System has functioned perfectly until straight after installing updates on 16/02/2012. I believe some of these updates were: KB2660465, KB2645640, KB2654428 and an Office 2007 Update. The Update Install procedure called for a System Restart which for unknown reasons booted to Safe Mode. I performed a Restart which booted correctly and I continued to work for the rest of the day. Next morning it booted to ChkDsk running, which apparently found and rewrote Orphaned Files. This activity caused me serious concern.
I ran scans with MSE and MalwareBytes and both were clean.I decided to perform a System Restore back to 12/02/2012 which was a known good Restore Point, created by Critical Update. This Restore has now been running for four hours with the HDD Light blinking. This makes me believe that there is in fact something happening on the HDD, what I do not know.I am aware the System Restore must not be stopped once started. The Question now is: How much longer should I allow it to run?? or Should I kill it now???If I were to Kill It now, what would I then have to do???I have never known System Restore to take so long before. I see this as being abnormal. I do not want to destroy two months of installation work.
but can't seem to find the right post. I want to set my PC Dell Inspiron 560 Windows 7, back to the factory settings as I just bought a new one and I'm selling this one.I have the CDs to do this, but when it comes on the screen, there is so much "jumble" on the screen, and I have no clue what it means, or what to do. I hit f12, when the Dell logo appears. Is there an easier way to do this, or can someone explain what I do, I am totally clueless on this.
