I have a workstation that when shutting down, displays the force shutdown option. I know why the message appears but I do not want others to have the ability to force the shutdown. We have a SQL operation running and when the shutdown is forced it corupts the database. How can i disable the force shutdown screen so the user does not have the option.

I have my laptops configured to shut down when I press the power button. Problem is it stops at a screen telling me that some programs are running and I have to click to "Force Shutdown" on these programs before it shuts down. Otherwise it just sits there like a jackass until the battery runs down--or forever if it is on AC power.
Is there a way to force this computer to shut down when the power button is pressed--without further user participation.
I have a Dell Desktop running Windows 7, 64 bit. I usually run Mozilla Firefox each time I use my computer. When I shut down my computer, I do so without closing Firefox because I want to be able to quickly re-access the open browsers when I later restart my computer and Mozilla Firefox. The problem is that a screen appears asking if I want to force a shutdown because some Firefox process is still running. So the computer will not shut down unless I indicate that I want to force a shutdown and then a second click is required to confirm this. If I don't do this two step process, the computer will remain on indefinitely. This is pretty annoying. I have a laptop which also runs Window 7, but for some reason, the force shutdown issue does not arise - the computer just shuts down even when I leave Mozilla Firefox open when shutting off the laptop.Does anyone know how to change this so that the computer will automatically force the shutdown without me having to do the 2 step process to get it to do so?

I put a cd in the other day and the thing played and ripped just fine, but everything on it like the song titles, artist, and album name was in a different language! It was a normal Van Halen cd, nothing weird. I have no idea why it came up as whatever that was. It saved onto my pc like that too.Then today I went to create something in Paint, and many of my downloaded fonts were gone. I opened openoffice and a few showed up, but many of the others were missing from there as well. I went into the font folder itself, and half of them were lightly greyed out and had other languages on them. If I clicked on one. then across the bottom showed that this font was 'designed for:' Thai, this one for Arabic, this one for Japanese, and so on. Well when I downloaded them they were in English, and working just fine last time I tried. If I open the font, it displays in English.I go to the clock, language and region, then I go to region and language, then to keyboards and languages and there is nothing there! there are no options to remove languages at all.

I have decided to install Windows 7 Enterprise Edition x64 by formatting my C drive. But there is no option while i do clean install.
I have a ASUS Laptop with Intel I3 processer and Windows 7 Home Premium. I recently had a forced shutdown during a Windows upgrade session. Ever since then the Boot and Shutdown times have increased to over 15 minutes. I have run the msconfig unticking all but the antivirus (Kaspersky) and it still takes >15 min to boot and Shutdown. Is there something I can do before I decide to reinstall Windows &. (I dont have a install disk.) The software came with the Computer and I have the OEM code (Bought at Best Buy)

Then when i reboot, the update icon is still there. I'm thinking since the two updates are failing, it has something to do with the 1of1 update not downloading properly. I went to windows update to check for new updates, and the only one is the two that keep failing. My computer just blue screened on shutdown today, winch got me thinking i really need to fix this.
