I installed win 7 on my computer with no issues. I built an intel system. My wifes computer is an AMD 6000+ with 4 gig ram. I installed win 7 64 bit just as I did on my intel system only the AMD computer only recognizes 2 gig of ram. I flashed the very latest bios (Gigabyte board) and still only recognizes 2 gig. I even noticed when the bios scrolls through the boot up process I can see only 2 gig. Anyone have any clues. I saw on another forum that some are having that issue once they installed win 7, but others don't.
I read on this forum about the speech recognition software on windows 7. So I found it but only by doing a search first. I thought it would be in the program list. I think it is great but I am only learning with it. I am suprised it actually knows what I am saying without learning like a lot of other software out there.
Anyway, thats not what I am writing about. What I would like to know is about the commands it has. I can only find about half a dozen. I have used the help menu but dont get far with that. For anyone who uses it can you tell me where to find the commands or do you have to train it to your own.
Is it possible to logon using only the facial recognition software? I've got asus n50vn with the asus smartlogon software, so i was woundering if its possible to only have that facial logon feature available at logon and someway of hiding the username password feature.
Does anybody know where i can find the speech recognition configuration folder so that i can make a copy of it and in case i need to restore it on a later time?

I use speech recognition a lot. I think the speech recognition in Windows 7 is great, although I miss some things in it. For those who also have RSI, or just want to use the voice, I found two add-ons that I think is pretty interesting. The first add-on is the Windows Speech Recognition Macros, you can group several speech commands at once with it. The only drawback is clicking anywhere on the screen with your voice. Windows default "mouse grid" takes a lot commands to move and click. For this issue, I found another add-on for clicking anywhere that is pretty fast. It is a tiny add-on called Voice Finger [URL], and by the way I'm using it right now.
I would like to sign a document and turn off handwriting recognition. When I am in Wordpad, the tablet pc input panel tries to convert anything I sign into text. What I want to do is to just have the signature to be put into the document without it being turned into text.Would like to sign the document without my signature turned into text.
I have used speech recognition on my computer before, with a minor issue of it giving me grief over specific words. I haven't run it in a while and discovered it wasn't working right tonight. I thought it was my microphone, and sure enough when I unplugged the mic and ran the tutorial it was back to it's old self. Until I tried to run it in wordpad. I spent no less than ten minutes trying to dictated the words "she lifted"! Even when I finally got the right correction it wouldn't accept the numbers. I tried saying "spell it" but no, I had to manually click on it before it would open the spell it tab. Then it wouldn't correctly spell it either so I said forget it and had to type the thing myself! I couldn't even get 2 words in after typing it myself before it had to correct again. Fifty or more times I tried saying "the lid" and NEVER got the proper words out of the corrector. At this point I am extremely frustrated and angry and I will admit freely I descended into swearing at the speech recognition while attempting to close the piece of crap. Needless to say, now I don't even feel like writing. Now tell me what the ever loving point is to this program if it only works in the stinking tutorial? In trying to save my carpal tunnel from a great deal of typing I only ended up screaming in frustration at the computer and making my throat raw.
I noticed there's some issues with this but could not fine a resolution. When i first installed Windows 7 I ran the Tutorial for Speech Recognition and it worked perfect.I also used it for awhile and it worked perfect , then i rebooted and was installing stuff i dont remmeber what. but since i just updated i installed alot of stuff. I disabled speech recognition to auto-start when windows booted up and ever since i get this error.
When i try to open speech recognition you can see it pop open for a quick second up top and then i get this.
"SPEECH RECOGNITION COULD NOT START BECAUSE THE LANGUAGE CONFIGURATION IS NOT SUPPORTED.....THE RECOGNIZER LANGUAGE MUST MATCH THE LANGUAGE OF THE USER INTERFACE. PLEASE CHANGE THE RECOGNIZER LANGUAGE IN THE SPEECH RECOGNITION CONTROL PANEL UNDER ADVANCED OPTIONS"
Now. i'm not a total idiot and it was set to US the whole time, and this Windows 7 Beta 7000 32 bit English...oh and all the other speech regonistion otpions work such as tutorial and Train the computer to better understand you (yeah i sat there and read the whole thing for about 5 mins and it worked perfect).
I'm not the only one with this issue. i have a Creative X-FI new beta drivers. for windows 7. Nvidia 9600 GT. Q6600 Intel and ASUS P5K mobo. HELP?
I'm quite interested in utilising Windows 7's speech recognition. I set up my mic, done the tutorial, and even trained my voice a couple of times. However, When I click "Start speech recognition," nothing happens! I don't get an icon in the tray, or the program itself at the top of the screen.
I've tried turning off all non-windows services and programs on startup (this was a Vista fix that I found on the net), but still nothing.
I'm running recording software (protools 6.4) that needs xp to run my pci audio card.
At the moment i'm running a dual boot system to run xp. But to save rebooting all the time, I would like to run Protools in windows 7 xp mode. I've tried but it won't recognize my pci audio card.
I've enabled all virtualization settings in my bios.
Has anyone had any luck with xp mode recognising pci hardware?
I've searched high and low for the answer to this!
I got a language-learning program for Christmas and it has voice recognition software on it, but how do I enable this in Windows? I'm pretty sure that all you need is a USB microphone and that's it - is there anything else I need?
I had to disconnect a 1 tb usb drive to transfer files to a different computer. Upon reconnecting usb drive got a drive is not formatted, format now? error message, said no of course. Plugged it into a different usb port and after about 10 minutes, the drive showed up all is good. Indexing is turned off for the drive, I also turned off AV in case that was a problem.
I've been meaning to post on here for a while, there is a fault with my computer that i think is to do with windows and i was wondering[CODE]I thought initially it was a defunct in my graphics card. So i got a different model of monitor and replaced that with one of my dell 2007fp, leaving the other dell plugged in. After rebooting windows, both of these monitors displayed together seamlessly! So why isn't this the case between the two 2007fp's?ater is swapped the two 2007fp's around so the then unused one is being used with the different monitor, again seamless results!I even re-installed the OS and all drives, but still the two 2007fp's didn't work together when windows loads
I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I'm having problems. I had originally used IE 9 but i was having so many problems i went back to using IE 8. Right now the problems that i'm having are, Windows 7 does not recognize my slave drive and it will not let me open an external link for a new window from an open window (thus i can't even verify my e-mail address for the game i want to start playing). Oh and one other thing, i keep getting a message that says i'm not running a valid windows program. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I've included the TSG SysInfo as well. I own Dutch home edition windows 7 on my new laptop. There is no speech recognition module that came with the software. Is it possible to use the English version SAPI 5.1 with windows 7? (installing with compatibility mode XP)I use software that only uses English speech recognition, and works best with XP.The SR modules that comes with thr "bigger" versions of Windows 7 gives a lot of troubles with the program, because there are a lot of instructions that works also with the Windows 7 interface. The software i use = London Control (Air traffic control simulation)

I have been using facial recognition software for a while now, and I was wondering if there was a way to hide (not disable as having backdoor is always safe) the normal login for Windows 7. I.E., instead of a screen displaying the usernames, have one box that is facial recognition.
Every time I plug my flash drive in to my windows 7 x64 PC there's a delay of about a minute before it gets recognized by the operating system (where it seems to be doing nothing - the light on the drive is just on not flashing). The drive's fine as it gets instantly recognized on Linux and OSX.This always coincides with two errors in event viewer: both event ID 7011, and the same error:A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the <service> service.Except one of the errors is with the ShellHWDetection service and the other is the LanmanServer service.Any ideas why this is happening? It didn't happen before with my old flash drive. The new one's a Corsair 8GB voyager drive is that

I'm starting to use Windows 7's speech recognition program which is proving to be much better than the alternatives, especially Dragon.
However, I can't get it to work with non-microsoft programs. It won't work with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, iDesign), Open Office, or the Chrome browser. It will work with Wordpad, Expression Web, Live Writer, etc.
Is there some setting I can change? Or is Speech Recognition a microsoft only tool? I'm using the latest version of Windows 7 64 bit on an i5 Asus laptop.
I have just started to use Windows 7 RC1 and it has to be one of the best releases since WS2000 & WS2003.The Sheer performance, sleek finish and the GUI is great for even beginners. Problem I have so far is that WSRMacros will not launch. I have successfully downloaded the msi from MS installed and rebooted, but when executing the application it does nothing.
