Windows 7-HPx64 offers easy changes from small to large icons in the Taskbar but QL icons seem to have one size only - small. In trying to set up / maintain Windows 7 for an older person I want to offer her a QL with large icons, just like the Taskbar.Do I ditch the QL and just pin apps to the Taskbar?
My battery icon has disappeared from the bottom right hand side of my toolbar. I am using windows 7. I went into tray icons and the power notification is greyed out. How to get this icon back?
I want to add My Docs to the Quick Launch bar but it refuses to go. I only get the option to add to Windows Explorer which I don't want. I'd like to see my customised containing folder on the Quick Launch instead of the basic brown folder.
I've tried a few of the options suggested elsewhere in the Forum but they didn't work as I'd like.
I have added the quick launch to the taskbar on 1 pc but on the second one when I click on toolbars - new toolbar it opens with Libraries showing and I cannot get rid of it to insert the text for the quick launch bar. Does anyone know how to get it to open without the libraries bar showing?
This is my second day with Windows 7 and I'm very impressed with it. With Vista, I had the 'My ISP' icon in the Quick Launch bar which was very handy. Now that I've managed to enable the Windows 7 Quick Launch, can anyone tell me how to put the My ISP icon there so that I can connect with just one click as with Vista?
The icons in the quick-launch bar (or whatever it's called now, since it works differently after all) frequently change image. For the first few days it was all normal, then the WMP and IE(32-bit) icons swapped image, and now the WMP image has turned into my C drive's image (and IE(32-bit)'s back to normal. The 64-bit icon hasn't changed yet, by the way). They still work normally though. How to stop them from switching image?Interestingly, this also happened on Windows XP (which was 32-bit, not the 64-bit unlike this Windows 7). However, this is a different HD, so it's definitely not a HD issue (well, unless both happen to have the same problem, but what's the chance?).
I still use the quick launch bar in Win 7 and I'm wondering something: is there a way to make a folder on that bar appear as a pull-down (or, pull-up) menu?I mean similar to the way Chrome allows you to make a folder on your bookmarks bar, in that clicking it brings a pull-down list of those bookmarksSo in this case, I'd like to click a "games" folder on my quick launch bar, and have it open a menu similarly, rather than just open a folder of links.
I have driver problem with Win 7 and HP NX6310 WI FI do not work. I can not use the button to activate the wi fi while HP drivers for quick launch button are for Vista and do not work.
I managed to reactivate the 'Quick Launch' Folder under Windows 7. Disadvantage: I need to synchronize the content for every user. Means 'Quick Launch ' differs a lot from e.g. Start MenuPrograms or Autostart where I can place my content into the 'All Useres' branch and will see a combination of my personal folders and the 'All Useres' folders.
Friday night I had quick launch icons. Saturday morning I didn't. I also can't open the START menu and select "pin to start menu" on anything anymore. There are arrows next to certain programs as well (such as Word) that USED TO show recent documents but those don't even open anymore. All that exists there is an arrow with no functionality. What the heck? I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64. Why would all of my quick launch icons suddenly disappear and I can't drag and drop anything to the bar now? The bar isn't locked and nothing has changed in the system that I know of.
Using Win 7 x64 and Firefox 4 with a Dell 23.5" LCD monitor, I randomly see Firefox bookmarks (1 or 2 bookmarks) appearing in the area at the bottom of the screen where the Firefox add-ons are shown (one add-on currently - "Ad Block Plus" - so the red stop sign shows) and blending into the taskbar/quick launch tool bar. These random bookmarks show up about centered on the width of the screen. If I click anywhere in the Taskbar/quick launch tool bar, the shown bookmarks vanish.
I've recently reformatted and installed Windows 7 ultimate 64bit on my hp dv9904 laptop. Everything is working fine except for the remote and quick launch buttons at the top of the keyboard. I've seen quite a few threads on the subject but none of them have worked out for me.everything in device manager says its working fine but niether the remote nor the quick launch buttons do anything Should I uninstall the drivers for both and start over?
previously when i right clicked on the quick launch icon of Mozilla Firefox i used to get options like New window, New tab, Start private browsing etc etc, but now it isn't.
I just had to completely re-install Win 7 pro 64 bit and lost some of my settings. Two important ones were the quick launch option and the other was the "deep" administrator privileges. Can some one out there tell me how to regain those two options?
It came with vista installed and when i pressed the volume buttons on top of the keyboard a gray bar used to come indicating the volume, but when i installed Windows 7 the gray bar is not coming, even though the buttons function properly(that is volume goes up and down) (pressing the volume touch button increases the volume, but does not display the volume slider window on the screen)
I even installed the latest HP Quick launch buttons Windows 7 driver:

I'm having a specific issue with the quick launch toolbar that I haven't seen described anywhere else. When I try to expand the quick launch toolbar to view the shortcuts, none of the 15-20 icons show up and instead it just displays a white rectangle where the icons should be. While I have seen a similar issue described, in every case the icons actually show up after a few to several seconds waiting for them to load. In my case, nothing shows up and the quick launch menu just stops responding.
Hope this is in the right section. My quick launch menu takes up to 2 minutes to populater (even when there is no other software running). Once it has populated, then it will work again instantly.
Is it true the registry hack is the only way to view Quick Launch?
Desktop Shortcut keys / hotkeys were great with the window button on the quick launch for Vista. Example Win button + 2 would launch the second shortcut icon.
I recently "enabled" the quick launch toolbar for windows7. When I hover my cursor over the icons the resulting "box" encasing it does not match with my current theme.I'm using Win7StyleBuilder and I'm trying to change this, but I'm having a hard time finding where it is...
when I update an application which I have in my Quick Launch toolbar, its icon move to the end of the list of icons (as if it were a newly installed program and not one that had simply been updated). This means every time I update, say, Firefox, or Thunderbird, or Seamonkey, etc., I have to go into the Quick Launch toolbar and drag it back to its proper place. Is there any way to address this or is it something that's changed in how Mozilla updates its programs? Ideally (and what used to happen) is that most program icons stayed put after the programs they pointed to were updated.
A few days after installing windows 7 the Quick Launch mute button is stuck on (red) indicating that the system is muted whether or not it's muted in the system tray. No sound will come out of the external speakers but headphones work fine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers on the support page but that limits me to only using headphones OR internal speakers (even if headphones were plugged in) by setting it through Control Panel. System restore fixed the problem for 1 day and it reoccurred.
I've just installed the newest version from HP but it doesn't affect anything: HP Quick Launch Buttons HP Pavilion dv7-1135nr Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
I found related topics with similar (but not the same) issue but none have solved the problem.
I have a new laptop with Windows 7. In XP I have the quick launch area with about 10 icons that flow over 2 lines which is how I want it. In windows 7, I have dragged the bar 2 high bu the Quick Launch continues to put everything in one line so that the icons are hidden. i want to be able to see them all.
I need to remove all the most visited pages which you get when you right click on the quick launch icon. I have cleared all the data "from the beginning of the time" several times but no use. All the pages come back after Windows is restarted.I have also reinstalled chrome & waterfox but they all come back after a reboot.I have tried CCLeaner and Glary Utilities as well...But none helped?
I've just bought a new PC which has Windows 7 installed so just finding my way about! My old PC was running XP and all my program shortcuts in the Quick Launch Toolbar had relevant icons on them. However, although some shortcuts I've put on my 7 QLT have appeared with the relevant icons, for instance FF and TB, 3 other programmes have just come up as blank cream coloured folders. So is there a way to get the proper icons instead of the blanks?
