HP Quick Launch Buttons / DV5T 1200SE
I have HP DV5T-1200SE
It came with vista installed and when i pressed the volume buttons on top of the keyboard a gray bar used to come indicating the volume, but when i installed Windows 7 the gray bar is not coming, even though the buttons function properly(that is volume goes up and down) (pressing the volume touch button increases the volume, but does not display the volume slider window on the screen)
I even installed the latest HP Quick launch buttons Windows 7 driver:

HP Quick Launch Buttons
The HP buttons on laptops above the keyboard, for me play, ffw, rewind, volume, and mute; do not work with Windows 7. I went to HP and downloaded the Vista 32 bit drivers hoping they would work on Windows 7 but they dont, at least not by simply installing them. Im running Windows 7 32bit. Im not talking about the Quick Play buttons, I dont care about those. Any ideas?

HP DV9575en Quick Launch Buttons
the quick keys seem to work fine but the problem is that they don't change color from blue to orange (enabled/disabled) for some reason and the drivers (vista) from hp can't be installed either. any ideas how to fix that or what to try?

Connecting To ISP Via Quick Launch
This is my second day with Windows 7 and I'm very impressed with it. With Vista, I had the 'My ISP' icon in the Quick Launch bar which was very handy. Now that I've managed to enable the Windows 7 Quick Launch, can anyone tell me how to put the My ISP icon there so that I can connect with just one click as with Vista?

Quick Launch Login Screen Issue
1. I am using the quicklaunch bar, as explained in the tutorial. After restarting, Windows "forgets" to show the quicklaunch. Is there a fix for this? 2. After while of inactivity, windows shows the login screen. How can I turn this off?

Quick Launch Doesn't Stick
I added a Quick Launch toolbar to my taskbar on my desktop. It works fine. I added a Quick Launch toolbar to my netbook and it works fine but it goes away every time I shut the computer down. I've tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions?

Window 7, Quick Launch, Task Bar Toolbar Option Is it true the registry hack is the only way to view Quick Launch? Desktop Shortcut keys / hotkeys were great with the window button on the quick launch for Vista. Example Win button + 2 would launch the second shortcut icon.

HP Pavilion - Quick Launch Button Stuck On Mute
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and have the HP Pavilion dv7-1135nr here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3795411&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us A few days after installing windows 7 the Quick Launch mute button is stuck on (red) indicating that the system is muted whether or not it's muted in the system tray. No sound will come out of the external speakers but headphones work fine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers on the support page but that limits me to only using headphones OR internal speakers (even if headphones were plugged in) by setting it through Control Panel. System restore fixed the problem for 1 day and it reoccurred. I've just installed the newest version from HP but it doesn't affect anything: HP Quick Launch Buttons HP Pavilion dv7-1135nr Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) I found related topics with similar (but not the same) issue but none have solved the problem.

Classic Menu, Quick Launch Missing Links
Windows 7 missing all those things mentioned in title. Classic Menu, Quick Lauch . Also no option to modify remove or add links in left side panel. No need for Library link or Network link. Should have option to remove it and add other links such as my computer. Please add these features in final release. People love XP not vista. If windows 7 is more like XP. It will beat XP for sure.

How To Make Explorer Quick Launch Icon Point To Computer ?
By default, there is an explorer.exe quicklaunch icon in the taskbar. When i click it, i end up in the library view. I would like to start in the "computer" area where i see my hard drives etc. When i pull a "computer" into the taskbar it just gets added to the explorer shortcut but even if i delete the explorer shortcut and then drop a computer shortcut into the taskbar, it just adds a shortcut to explorer.exe. The link to computer is added to the context menu of explorer.exe but that is 2 clicks away and i find that very annoying.

Install On An HP Pavilion Dv5t
I just installed Windows 7 Beta on my HP Pavilion dv5t and notice that my quick launch buttons don't work at all. The mute button does work, but does not turn orange when muted (like it did in Vista). I can only tell that it is muted because of the mute symbol that appears in the systray. The volume and WiFi buttons work correctly in Windows 7. I have tried installing some of the HP drivers, but no help. Anyone have any ideas?

No Working Media Buttons, Keyboard
Just reinstalled windows 7 this weekend together with new hardware. But i have encountered some problems, both with sound and keyboard. On my keyboard which is a Logitech Ultra X (Ultra X) i have some buttons at the top, like Media, play/pause, www, email and mute. These have been working earlier on both windows xp and vista, but now they are not working. Very frustrating as i use them very often. Do any of you guys in here have any idea about how this may be fixed?

I have a HP Pavillion dv6700 32 bit running vista currently. I want to upgrade to windows 7, but the compatibility program said that the quick launch buttons wouldnt work properly. I searched around and looked on HP's website to see if there were drivers for the upgrade but I havent found anything. Would anybody know 1) if my quicklaunch buttons would indeed not work if I installed Windows 7 2) What I need to do to get them to work? 3) Do I need to do it after or before I install Windows 7?

Laptop And Keyboard Shortcut Buttons
I have installed windows 7 RC1 on my Acer Aspire 5920g laptop. Till now i was running Vista SP1. Although Win 7 successfuly identified and installed every device my laptop has, to my amazement, the laptop's multimedia shortcut buttons (play,stop,launch media player) are not working. Under Vista they worked without me installing ANY acer driver. Is this being looked into or will I have to install my manufacturer's software, which I wouldn't like if possible.

Mouse Buttons In MS Virtual Pc XP Mode
Ok, i have windows virtual PC with xp installed inside of it. I use it for work. works great no complaints. Except I had to disable Integration features in order for it to allow my Secure VPN to connect. Now my 4th and 5th mouse buttons do not work. Is there a way to make them work w/o enabling my integrated features OR is there a way to make my secure VPN work without having to disable integrated features?

Backup And Restore Buttons Not Working
The "back up now" button and "change settings" button and other buttons in the backup and restore center does not work, nothing happens except an icon flashes by in the taskbar. I have however managed to do a backup of my system drive but it won't let me do anything there now. I've tried using system file checker to see if anything is wrong with the system files but it checks out ok. If you have any ideas I'd appreciate it.

Acer Laptop Media Buttons Problem
I have installed Windows 7 today, and so far so good, just a couple of small problems. I am running an Acer Aspire 5612 laptop (very similar to 5610). It has media buttons down the right hand side (FB, FF, Stop, Play/Pause, Vol -, Vol +) which were functioning on Vista. However, since installing Windows 7, these no longer work. I have searched google and found a lot of people saying that the Synaptics software was what controlled those buttons, so I downloaded the version from the Acer website, specifically for my laptop, however it says "Could not find OS Specific Setup program" - which I am assuming means it cannot run it on Windows 7? I have already got another version of Synaptics pointing device - for the touchpad, which runs the touchpad fairly well (however, my middle scrolling button doesn't work) - however the media buttons are still not working. I have had a look to see if I can change the settings, but am unable to find any settings that relate to the buttons. Could anyone help me out here? Even give me some ideas of what else I could look into?

Ctrl Key Stuck (because Of Mouse Buttons Assignments)
When I assign one of the mouse buttons to "Close" or to a keystroke combination (Ctrl-F4, Alt-F4, Ctrl-W etc.), after using the mouse buttons the Ctrl (or Alt) key behaves erratically as if it were stuck on the keyboard. This is not a hardware fault of the keyboard, I tried different types and makes. I have Vista64 but I read on various forums people have this on Win7 as well, both 32 and 64. Worst of all it happens both with Microsoft Explorer (MiniMouse in my case) with Intellipoint and Logitech VX Revoution and their Setpoint. (Newest versions were installed). Other people report it with further mice. Nothing is turned on regarding Accessibility and Sticky keys. As to date I found no evasion to this frustrating issue except not assigning mouse buttons the way I want. Is there some merciful soul out here who will share a solution ? Logitech know of this but their newer versions did not solve this, same goes for MS.

Fujitsu Tablet PC ST5112 Buttons No Longer Work
The tablet pc buttons no longer work after updating to Win 7 RC, they worked under the beta. The Windows report the drivers are installed. There is no unknown Hardware reported. I have install the same drivers and utilities that I used in the beta Win 7 in the Win 7 RC but can't get the buttons to work now? The screen is unable to switch from landscape to portrait using the buttons, but it will switch using the video driver in the controle panal. I have uninstalled all of the hardware related to the buttons and software and reinstalled, but windows just seems to ignore they are there. I have tried many different applications to scroll but doesn't work. Any ideas what could have changed between win 7 beta and Win 7 RC. Bill Smith

Photo Import Wizard Does Not Launch
After connecting a Canon camera to my LG Netbook, it appears under DEVICES AND PRINTERS and the flash drive shows up in COMPUTER. However, the IMPORT PICTURE WIZARD (or whatever todays name is) does not start. Further, I can not seem to find that wizard on the machine (i.e. START, search for WIZARD, PHOTO, PICTURE... or reviewing the ACCESSORIES folder or x:PROGRAM FILES...) I have set AUTOPLAY to PICTURES: ASK EVERY TIME and to DEFAULT but neither setting seems to have much impact. The wizard launched as expected under Vista and I THINK it ran under the 7 Beta (but I am not certain).

Thumbprint Scanner And Buttons On Side Of Screen Quit Working
I recently installed Windows 7 on my HP Tablet computer and ever since I did that the program for the fingerprint scanner didn't upgrade or download. Also when I rotate my computer screen to lay flat, to write on the screen, the screen will not rotate. There is a button already installed on the computer to rotate the screen however that button is not working either. The buttons used to play, pause and switch songs are still working but the buttons on the front for other programs are not working. I have tried searching for a fingerprint scanning program and ways to fix the buttons that are not working but to no avail. My computer is an HP Pavilion tx2635us and is now in the Windows 7 setup not Windows Vista.

Quick Audio Switching
I have my Realtek Audio device connected to my home theater receiver through s/pdf and to my monitor through the green jack on the back of the pc. When I am surfing the forums or what not, I have sound set to analog through my monitor. When I switch to Media Center, My output is moved to the s/pdf by right clicking the little speaker and selecting playback devices, and changng my default device, then starting Media Center. However, sometimes. I forget to do this and I have to close Media Center and make the switch. Question is this. Is there a hot key or software appy that can do this for me when I launch Media Center? Perhaps a Batch file, witch I have no experience with.?
