I need to remove all the most visited pages which you get when you right click on the quick launch icon. I have cleared all the data "from the beginning of the time" several times but no use. All the pages come back after Windows is restarted.I have also reinstalled chrome & waterfox but they all come back after a reboot.I have tried CCLeaner and Glary Utilities as well...But none helped?

Hope this is in the right section. My quick launch menu takes up to 2 minutes to populater (even when there is no other software running). Once it has populated, then it will work again instantly.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe icons in the quick-launch bar (or whatever it's called now, since it works differently after all) frequently change image. For the first few days it was all normal, then the WMP and IE(32-bit) icons swapped image, and now the WMP image has turned into my C drive's image (and IE(32-bit)'s back to normal. The 64-bit icon hasn't changed yet, by the way). They still work normally though. How to stop them from switching image?Interestingly, this also happened on Windows XP (which was 32-bit, not the 64-bit unlike this Windows 7). However, this is a different HD, so it's definitely not a HD issue (well, unless both happen to have the same problem, but what's the chance?).
View 3 Replies View RelatedFriday night I had quick launch icons. Saturday morning I didn't. I also can't open the START menu and select "pin to start menu" on anything anymore. There are arrows next to certain programs as well (such as Word) that USED TO show recent documents but those don't even open anymore. All that exists there is an arrow with no functionality. What the heck? I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64. Why would all of my quick launch icons suddenly disappear and I can't drag and drop anything to the bar now? The bar isn't locked and nothing has changed in the system that I know of.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I update an application which I have in my Quick Launch toolbar, its icon move to the end of the list of icons (as if it were a newly installed program and not one that had simply been updated). This means every time I update, say, Firefox, or Thunderbird, or Seamonkey, etc., I have to go into the Quick Launch toolbar and drag it back to its proper place.Is there any way to address this or is it something that's changed in how Mozilla updates its programs? Ideally (and what used to happen) is that most program icons stayed put after the programs they pointed to were updated.

My old PC was running XP and all my program shortcuts in the Quick Launch Toolbar had relevant icons on them. However, although some shortcuts I've put on my 7 QLT have appeared with the relevant icons, for instance FF and TB, 3 other programmes have just come up as blank cream coloured folders. So is there a way to get the proper icons instead of the blanks?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEssentially, upon starting up my computer, from time to time, I have no yet been able to isolate what may cause this issue, I will find that I cannot launch programs from their shortcuts in the Quick Start or Taskbar menu. As of right now I have not tried to launch said programs from the original .exe file in this scenario.I've noticed that when I try to open these programs from the Taskbar, the icon will be surrounded by a square to indicate that it is active, but, after a period of maybe 5 seconds or so, sometimes longer, it will disappear and the program will no longer look active. Opening up the task manager, the programs usually show up in the Processes under the appropriate name. Multiple instances of a program can appear, even when, under normal circumstances, multiple instances aren't allowed (such as with Firefox). The processes will usually show a static amount of memory used, like 108k for any firefox.exe in the process list, and will simply sit there until they are ended, despite the program not actually running. When this happens I generally have to restart the computer and hope it works on the restart.

After I got through and did a clean install of Windows 7, I went and did all of my customizations, and I tried to modify the right-click menu using registry edits that I found online. They would add to the registry successfully, but would not appear in the right-click menu. I also tried to delete the graphic preferences, which worked, but after rebooting, they reappeared again. It's something I thought could be useful for some people You know how you can shift+right click on items in windows explorer to get added options? Well, the same command works on jump lists, except with some useful added functionality.I remember at least one forum member having mentioned that the reason they misses quicklaunch is that they could drag and drop files onto an app to open said files with said app. Well, although this doesn't completely cover that problem, as you have to use the keyboard, it sure does help.Lets say you have 10 images you want to edit in a program, but you dont feel like opening up the program and then searching for the files, because you already have the folder with the files open in explorer. Normally, if you right click on the item in a jumplist that represents the application itself, you only get a tiny context menu with 3 or four options. I was messing around and saw that if you hold shift while you right click, you will get a full host of options like one might when browsing in windows explorer. So if I want to edit those ten images in GIMP for example, I can select the images, right click and press copy, open the jumplist for GIMP, and hold down on shift while I right click on the GIMP program in the jumplist. Now the right click menu gives me the option to Paste, so I select paste, and voila, my 10 images open in GIMP.

I've tried a few of the options suggested elsewhere in the Forum but they didn't work as I'd like.
I have added the quick launch to the taskbar on 1 pc but on the second one when I click on toolbars - new toolbar it opens with Libraries showing and I cannot get rid of it to insert the text for the quick launch bar. Does anyone know how to get it to open without the libraries bar showing?

I went to HP and downloaded the Vista 32 bit drivers hoping they would work on Windows 7 but they dont, at least not by simply installing them.

Im not talking about the Quick Play buttons, I dont care about those.

This is my second day with Windows 7 and I'm very impressed with it. With Vista, I had the 'My ISP' icon in the Quick Launch bar which was very handy. Now that I've managed to enable the Windows 7 Quick Launch, can anyone tell me how to put the My ISP icon there so that I can connect with just one click as with Vista?

It came with vista installed and when i pressed the volume buttons on top of the keyboard a gray bar used to come indicating the volume, but when i installed Windows 7 the gray bar is not coming, even though the buttons function properly(that is volume goes up and down) (pressing the volume touch button increases the volume, but does not display the volume slider window on the screen)
I even installed the latest HP Quick launch buttons Windows 7 driver:
