I know there have been a number of posts on this subject but I have been unable to find a solution. I have 2 Windows 7 machines, both running SP1.
My HP Pavilion is running 64-bit and my Dell Latiude E6400 is running 32-bit. I can successfully RDP from my Dell and even my Apple iPad (via an RDP client) into my HP Pavilion. However, the problem is that when I try to RDP from my Pavilion into my Dell I get connected but all I see is a BLACK from the Dell machine. The only thing i can see is the Status bar at teh top telling me that i am connected. A few moments later I get a popup message telling me that the machines have failed to communicate.
I have confirmed that RDP settings are identical on the Pavilion and Dell. I have even downgraded the Dell NVIDIA graphics driver to an older version based on the recommended version on the Dell support web site.

I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit, trying to use Windows remote desktop to connect to another PC in the LAN and install software. Right click on the .exe and choose run as admin. As soon as I do that I get a black screen with 2 white bars in the upper left hand corner(looks like a pause button). The user who's pc I am connected to sees the log inbox for the admin creds, how ever I can not get to it. How can I make that screen stop popping up?

We have several remote systems that can all connect fine. I am having an issue with one box. It is a windows 7 home premium machine with netgear wireless nic. When I open mstsc to connect to a remote machine I put in the ip address and click on connect.I receive an immediate failure with the text "This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again...blah blah"I have a server 2008 r2 with Network level authentication enabled. I have 8 other systems that are hardwired, at different geographic locations and all connect fine. I have not made any changes on the server side since this problem seems to be local to this client only. On the client I have made the following changes/observations. I have disabled the firewall, cleared the remote desktop cache, remove the MRU entries from the registry, verified that port 3389 is open via telnet. I have been bashing my head for days trying to figure out why this one box is not working. The problem occurs for every user on the box including the admin.I don't receive the box that prompts for warning if there is a server authentication issue but I think that is because I selected ignore at some point and said yes to continue. I'm not sure where that cache resides to delete that selection.

System is HP desktop running W7-64 bit. Printer is HP Photosmart 7350, old but working perfectly until 2 days ago. Driver is Deskjet 5550 (closest one for this printer).
I've reinstalled the driver, plugged and unplugged the printer, and tried to print from different programs. As soon as the print button is selected the error condition shows in the Devices & Printers section. This happens whether the printer is turned on or not.
What can I do to get the printer running again?

My office printer, HP Color Laserjet CM6040mfp, prints nicely when I just print "normally" from Word or Excel. When I try to automatize it with a .bat file, it doesn't work. I have x64 Windows 7. Another computer has x86 Windows 7 and it works nicely.
The error I receive is: "Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000705). Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver.Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver." So what do I need to install? The actual thing I'm trying to do is to print out test pages from several printers using a VBA script. This CM6040mfp happens to be the closest one to my room so that's the one I begin with.

I have been struggling for days to find a solution with an annoying printing problem on my new Windows 7 (64bit) HP Laptop. I can not print from my HP Laptop to any printers on my older XP Desktop wirelessly over my home network. I can open files from my shared folders on my XP desktop from my Windows 7 Laptop, etc. I can see all of the printers when I "Add a Printer" - but it tells me that:
"Windows can't find a driver for Canon iP4300 on the network."
I cannot find a driver manually and have installed a Windows 7 compatible driver for the iP4300 on my Laptop, etc. - no luck.
When I connect the same XP Printer directly to my Laptop by USB cable - it prints find. But, I can't seem to find a solution to my wireless problem.

I am using a new Dell computer with Windows 7. I am trying to print PDF files with a Xerox 7750 printer. I have downloaded the Xerox driver to the new computer, the printer is connected via USB. Each time I try to print the PDF file(s), they do not print on the entire page (8.5x11). All data on a page is printed but it is printed as a 1/2 page and in landscape, not portrait. I have tried to adjust the printer settings via Windows 7 (print window) but cannot get the document printed correctly.

Continuing post as started here: http:(url)...
Certain things I do on my computer take a very long time, such as printing. This all started about a week or so ago. Each step of the printing process (choosing a printer, changing print settings, sending the print job) now take 5-10 minutes when they used to be nearly instantaneous.
I've noticed slowness for some other functions as well (of course, I can't remember specifics at the moment) but it is most pronounced when printing (from any program). It *might* have started happening after either the Windows update or Adobe update that came out recently. At one point, I was giving a presentation and my computer completely froze for all local functions except switching tabs. The Task Manager showed nothing unusual and one of the tabs had Citrix loaded and I was able to use that just fine.I have a Dell Latitude E6410 running Windows 7. At the above linked thread I ran several scans that all came back negative for viruses or malware, so there must be some setting out of whack or another conflict.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, SP1. My hardware supports hardware rendering. I get a script error when trying to print in IE9 32 bit, and in Windows Live Mail. IE9 64 bit printing works fine. Also, if I select File-->Page Setup while in IE9 32 bit, and check OK without changing anything, printing works as long as that instance of IE9 is open. If I close it, and reopen, the same script error occurs until I do the File-->Page Setup again. Printing in Live Mail never works. I have reregistered ole32.dll and oleaut32.dll.

Okay, so the included Windows 7 driver works but it doesn't have the scan drivers included. I have downloaded the Vista x64 driver (which does work in Vista 64 FWIW) but I can't get it to install properly. It gets to the screen where it asks how I'm connecting, I say "Network" and it just gets hung there in an endless cycle.
If I can't get this to work, I'm gonna have to down-grade back to Vista - and I don't want to!
Any ideas?

So, just a question more out of curiosity than anything, as I don't expect a solution (I know, pessamistic...)It's time to renew my passport and the application form is a protected pdf (no modification, no comments - only printing). After wasting a day looking for restriction decryptors, I just went with making a blank document to "double-print" ontop of the application form. The tree-huggers are going to love this, but after wasting about 20 pages (rotation, page order, orientation etc...) and a lot of time I now have it sorted, but my question is: Does anyone know of an app to overlay print jobs instead of manually inserting paper back into the printer tray?

Both printers are recognized and the status on the control panel is all good, until i actually print something, thats when the spooler seems to begin the print job but it just ends up saying theres an error and no page is actually printed.

Whenever he prints his laptop freezes. It gets halfway through the print and then the computer freezes. When it freezes it renders the computer totally useless until a restarts.
The print also stops as soon as the computer crashes, even if it had not finished the print. The printer only spews out the paper when he restarts the computer.
The computer is running windows 7 home premium. The printer is Cannon MP280

I have a desktop computer and a laptop at home. The desktop is connected via CAT5 to the modem. The laptop is connected to the same modem and the same network, but via a wireless signal. Both desktop and laptop are Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Both desktop and laptop belong to the same homegroup/workgroup. It is possible to see shared files between the computers no problem. File sharing is enabled on both computers and works normally. So far, so good. However, I am unable to print from my laptop in a very peculiar way. I'll simply say what goes on (rather than attempt to analyse) so you can judge for yourself:When I print from the desktop: Print job goes into print queue. I am able to see the document in the print queue, on both the desktop and laptop (i.e. Laptop detects the correct printer and sees there's a document queued). Document prints as expected, and disappears from queue. When I print from the laptop: Print job goes into print queue on laptop only - Only the laptop sees the document in the print queue, desktop does not see it at all. After some time (usually ~10 seconds per page) the document disappears from the queue, as if it was printed normally. However, the desktop never registers the document in the print queue, and most importantly the printer never prints.
- Is this a software issue with Office 2003 (what I use)? Not as far as I can tell, printing PDFs and from websites also don't work on the laptop.
- Could it be that the printer you added to your laptop isn't recognised as being the same printer? I doubt this, because when I print a document on my desktop but check the print queue on my laptop, the document is present.
- What kind printer do you have? HP Deskjet F2180.
- Is your network preventing the two computers from connecting to each other? I don't think so, because file sharing is on for both, works normally on both machines, and I can see the desktop's print queue from the laptop.
