Can't Save Changes To Power Plans?
Jul 27, 2012I can go in to power options, change an existing plan or make a new plan, but when I change an individual setting, such as "turn screen of in X minutes", it won't save the change after I turn the computer off & on.

Oct 15, 2011I've got an old PC running WinXP and I have always used OE 6 on it but I DO have Outlook 2007 loaded onto the same machine.I want to migrate all my email and address book to my new machine running Win 7 Ultimate x64.I know I can either IMPORT the emails with Outlook 2007 from OE.OR. I can EXPORT the emails using using OE 6.... correct ?I read somewhere that if I used the Import function I woul dlose the date/time stamp on my old emails. Is that true ?To Import the OE emails thru Outlook and then back the pst up and move it to my new machine.... or us e the Export function on EO to try to export the email to Outlook ?And once I get the email and addresses into Outlook 2007 on my old machine, should I use a Memory stick to move them to the new machine or try to use the Windows Easy Transfer and an easy transfer cable (which I already have)?

then I went to her new pc with XP:
I clicked File > Import > Windows Live Mail Msgs pointed it to the thumb drive BOOM nothing I backed up showed up in WLM for XP
I had all of her emails stored up under her account and it didnt take why is that?

Is it possible to create a single icon that will toggle between the two plans?I also have an open dvd door icon and a close dvd door icon that I would like to reduce to a single button/ion/shortcut operation. I am guessing the solution for one is the same/similar as the other? Currently, I have a shortcut/icon for 1. & 2. of the following that I would like to to have just one shortcut/icon or 'key' that toggles between the two :

Oct 28, 2009I have a new W7, 64bit, machine. I'm using Windows Live Mail because Outlook is no longer included with Windows Office (which I bought).Everything is working well. I've imported the contacts from Outlook 2003 into WLM, no problem.How can I export the messages from Outlook into WLM.It's a new machine and came with a trial version of Windows Outlook 2007 installed so I opend it and imported the messages from the old Outlook 2003 into the new Outlook 2007 on the new machine, now I'm stuck. I can't see how to get the messages into WLM.

May 15, 2010using Premiere Pro CS5 with DV Cameras and/or Decks?I am having an issue Exporting the Timeline to Tape, it exports black and no audio.All of the settings are correct, using a Sony DSR-11 DVCAM Deck as well as a Panasonic DV-2030 Camcorder and it records black to both of them.It will capture and control the camera and deck just fine, just won't Export to Tape.I can open up the project in CS4 and Export to Tape to both devices just fine, so the hardware is working correctly.Just want to know if anyone is having issues or if it is working for them. Adobe Forums don't have anything about the issue there.Oh, and it's not just my machine, my friend has the same issue with CS5 on a brand new Dell i7 machine (he was having the issue first and loaned me his DSR-11 to test on my machine).

Jun 9, 2011I use my PC for audio production and I have a few external controller devices that are USB powered, for example a midi keyboard. I recently had to build PC due to a theft....long story short after building the new PC I've noticed that my USB buses have continual power to these external devices after I've powered down the PC. My old windows 7 PC did not do this. Is there a setting I can change to shut off power to the USB buses when I power off the PC? Or is this a hardware issue?

May 2, 2012Over the past 2 years my PC has been afflicted with random power off/power on/reboot events.It will go for months without these and then have multiples of the events in a day. (I had 8 of them 3 days ago.)I assume I have a hardware problem, but nothing has been found and I'm grasping at straws.The time between power off and power on is several seconds.I had assumed this rules out a software cause, but maybe I'm wrong. I know Windows can schedule a power off, but can it tell BIOS (or something) to power back on in a few seconds?I know blaming the power supply is a much more simple explanation, but then I'm left with explaining the intermittent nature of the failure.

In XP, I could choose which pictures to import, and give them names, and XP would number them for me, for instance import into C:Pictures2009, and the pictures would be named 2009 001.jpg and so on.
Now I dont understand how to do it, and if I have imported some pictures, I'm not allowed to do it again. WHAT???
Why should Windows 7 decide if I can import my pictures again, what if I delete a picture by mistake?
Is there a way to make it work like in "the good old days"?

Nov 10, 2009I found 4 duplicates of every picture / video in explorer that was imported from my camera's sd card.
I deleted them all from my pc. The I re-ran the rebuild index option. It appears to finish. Emptied recycle bin prior. Rebooted pc.
Inserted SD card and still getting "no new pictures or videos to import" message.

Oct 25, 2009I backed up all files to an external hard drive. Had Windows 7 installed, and have tried a number of ways to import or open the data file/ pst back into Outlook 2003. I was getting a lot of 'it can't find the file' to now 'that I don't have the permissions to open it'.
I have no passord on my pc - took it off to see if that would work. Didn't help. I moved it under my user name to see if that would help. It hasn't. Please...any suggestions as my downloads etc for Security software, other downloads, are stored in my email folders.
Import OE Emails Into WLM Not Successful
Nov 18, 2009I have just installed Win 7 and have tried to import my backed up Outlook Express files to Windows Live Mail. It appears towork ok but even though I have seen the folders copied in the import tool, i cannot see all the folders in WLM.
Any ideas folks?
