This is a little embarrassing, but I can't seem to find out what some of the on screen control are doing when watching live TV. That is, the small coloured button on the left hand side of the screen, to the left of the Text TV button. Also, the two button to the left of the coloured button, I am grateful for any advice. My TV works just fine by the way, jsut that I like to know what option there is to use.
View 3 RepliesI got my computer six months ago and never bothered with Windows Media Center. In order to see TV on my computer, I needed a TV tuner. Since I am a member with Netflix and Microsoft promoted Netflix working on the Center, I tried to use it without the tuner and just play media from my hard drive and Netflix but it did not work. The Netflix rep. said they had issues with it working with their software. In addition, the Microsoft tech. said I needed the tuner for it to work at all. Six months later, I get an email from Microsoft suggesting uninstalling software I do not use to improve the PC�s performance. Therefore, I decided to get rid of Windows Media Center never using it. However, I wanted to try it again and see if it could work now. To my surprise, it worked beautifully organizing the media from my hard drive and Netflix worked on it. I had to download software to get it working and I do not know what I downloaded but it seemed to work. Then, suddenly the screen went black with the white curser from my mouse the only thing I could see. I tried to reboot a minute later and I was able to log on but instead of going to the desktop, a black screen reappeared. I shut the computer down and waited 20 minutes before turning it on. After I logged in, Windows 7 opened to the desktop. Are there any issues with Windows Media Center and, can I operate it without a TV tuner or should I uninstall it since I do not plan to get the TV tuner?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dual screen setup (PC & TV) & just upgraded from mce2005. Whenever mce2005 started up, media center automatically displayed on my tv screen rather than my pc monitor. With Windows 7 it seems to display on my PC monitor at startup, even though I have dragged it onto the tv screen the previous time I used it. Is there a way I can get it to start up on my tv screen but keep my PC monitor as my primary screen? My video card is an nVidia GeForce 7300LE
PS It's also time for a video card upgrade as live TV is very choppy - would people recommend ATI or nVidia?
Windows media center will not prevent the screen from shutting off when its suppose to. Is there some way to fix this other than changing the power settings for win 7 64bit.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am having an issue with media center through my Xbox 360 i am using a VGA cable to my Xbox and running it through a monitor everything is fine when i'm playing games and what not but when i open media center it has weird lines across the screen i have tried everything i can think of, i changed the resolution and it didn't have lines but obviously the picture wasn't quite right, change the resolution back to normal and the lines come back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLately when I run Windows Media Center and I'm watching live TV, the screen will just go black and the sound will stop. I can't get anything to come up on the monitor (goes into sleep mode), yet the hard drive is still going and power is on the pc. I have to power down the pc and reboot it. I have checked all my power settings and made sure they are good, I have the latest driver for my Nvidia graphics card.
I never had this problem and then began about a month ago and seemed to go away. Lately it is back. WMC will play live tv for about 10 minutes and then black screen. I have run malware and anti virus programs, nothing detected. Updated graphics card, pc isn't overheating. I have run out of ideas why WMC is going to a black screen. If I run just the pc, I have no problems, it's only when WMC is running.
Ok I have multiple monitors & like to watch movies while I do other things at the same time.Now I LOVE Media Center, I think its fantastic.But it locks down the monitor & mouse that it opens up on, not allowing me to do other things on my other monitors.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.

This DVD player is an external player and I have no problem with playback on my Dual boot with Vista Home Premium.

I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I formatted my laptop and still it wont install the newest version of ccc. I downloaded a driver from toshibas site it would install that but it seems like an old version (2010.0315.1050.17562).

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve been trying to install this program on my computer because when i plug my laptop by HDMI cable to my Samsung TV, the resolution does not fit well and everything looks pixelated.My friend had the same problem but his laptop included the Catalyst Control Center and he made some adjustments and the problem was solved.I already installed the program but when i right click on my deskop the program doesnt show up on the options, on my control panel it says it is installed but it wont open for some reason.My computer is an HP Pavillion dv4-4068la with Intel HD graphics card.

I have been trying to install the Catalyst Control Center (CCC) for quite some time now, but it always ends in the same result - a blue screen. I've downloaded several different versions since the public release of Windows 7 (tried about 5 driver versions) and each has been an equal failure. The only way I update my driver is by extracting the files from the CCC downloader and updating them via the device manager which works fine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought a pre-built desktop a little over a year ago. It cam with integrated graphics, an ATI Radeon 3000. I installed an HD 6670 shortly after. I now have a two monitor setup. I have my primary monitor hooked up to the 6670 and the secondary to the 3000. After updating CCC to 12.6 from 12.4 the second monitor isn't detected. I've been going to device manager and uninstalling the 3000 drivers, then restarting, and my secondary monitor is detected, drivers auto install, and both work. Unfortunately when I check CCC it's back to 12.4.
