Windows 7 86. I have NO SOUND and my Realtek HD Audio will not open from the control panel. I have reinstalled the drivers and used system image to recover but it has not solved the problem. I have used this system image before and it work perfect. I think it is a hardware problem but how can I check this or what other option may I have not considered?
View 9 RepliesIt's not in my control panel, I've reinstalled drivers 3 times from 3 different places, I looked in the Realtek folder for an exe that I'm pretty sure is called RAVCpl64 and found nothing. I found the aforementioned exe in my driverstore folder, but when I run it, nothing happened. I forgot to mention I'm running Win7x64, and am using a custom built PC with an Asus M4A77TD board.

i have done a reinstall of windows 7 32 bit But couldn't boot from cd as usb keyboard would not work (can't get in to bios to change it)So installed windows in windows it was ok till i updated windows I must have installed on board sound and think it is now conflicting with my Xfire sound card Can't open Controll panel as Explorer shuts it self down And can't do a reset to another date as it says can' open a certian file How can i uninsall a program by not using c/p

Suddenly and for no apparent reason Control Panel will not open on my Win 7 64-bit computer. If I go to the Start Menu and click on Control Panel link there, an icon for the Control Panel appears on the task bar, but no Control Panel window is open! If I move the cursor over the icon on the task bar I can see a miniature version of All Control Panel Items, but NO LARGER CONTROL PANEL WINDOW will open. Weird. If I just try clicking on the task bar Control Panel icon nothing happens, unless I right-click on it and click <Close Window>, then it will close. Other links to the Control Panel also fail to open the actual Control Panel, and merely produce a task bar icon.

The stock audio driver that comes with the system included with it IDT audio control panel / codec.It was buggy as hell so I removed it and am now just running Win 7's own audio driver.However, the sound quality suffers as the IDT control panel allowed for some settings to be adjusted in how sound is played particularly generating extra bass from the speakers and adjusting how the sound appears to be positioned.I am looking for alternatives to this software. I have already tried messing with various player programs' equalisers and also DFX audio enhancer, which seemed to make things worse.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem where any subcategory links in control panel wont seem to open at all when clicked on. Everything else opens fine. For example, clicking on "System and Security" or "Network and Internet" works fine (the main categories) but if I try to click on "un-install a program" or "add a device" for example (the small text sub category links) they don respond with anything.I have tried Google searching for a solution but cant seem to find anything of use.

Whenever I try to open it I get the following error: GfxUI.exe - .NET Framework Initialisation Error Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application.So far I have tried uninstalling .NET framework and re-installing. Changing administrator rights to the appropriate files (now changed back to normal as this didn't work). I can't open Mouse Properties in Control Panel. I click and nothing happens. I ran sfc /scannow but it didn't fix the problem. It found some corrupted files which it couldn't fix, but they weren't related to the mouse or control panel in any way I could see.

View 6 Replies View Related1) Asus Laptop Model UL50VT with Windows 7 Home Premium. 2) Hard Drive crashes dies, send it in and get it replaced. 3) Several months after getting the Hard Drive replaced (Yesterday) I noticed that my D drive had 350GB of memory as compared to about 150GB in my C Drive. This was a problem considering my C drive was nearly full.4) I decide to just put new files to the D Drive and that I will copy files over to the D drive to use it as my primary driver. I use Yahoo!Answers as my reliable source of information on all things registry. After following the instructions that I can no longer find, I edited several files in the registry, believing myself to have changed the primary drive from C to D.
5) ^^ The above instructions given were most likely from an epic troll. Everytime I open any System 32 file I get an error that Windows cannot C:/Windows/System32/Application I tried to open/etc... This includes, sadly, my regedit application.6) I copied my System32 folder over to my D drive and attempted to open the application from over there, but it has not worked.7) Many files on my computer are unable to be found by windows, System32 is not the only case. It appears to be somewhat random8) I tried as a cop-out way to fix this to create a new User Account, and that also failed... It simply will not open the Control Panel section for creating a new account.9) Lastly... and perhaps this was my stupidest mistake of all... I never created a recovery disk.
Recently I bought a Notebook and I want to change my display settings. I got Intel HD Graphics Family installed on my computer. I recently decided to reinstall Win 7 as it`s been about a year and things are starting to go a bit awry. For instance I can no longer open the Start Menu Control Panel without it hanging and having to restart Explorer. The real problem though is that my DVD drive won`t recognize formatted disks. If I put in a blank up it pops, but nothing else. Device manager says its all ok.

I'm in safe mode right now and no such problems are currently present. This is a newly built computer and the OS is installed on an SSD. After installing Windows I installed drivers from three CDs in the following order: graphics card, sound card, mobo/chipset. No problems appeared to occur. I think prior to installing these drivers Windows was okay as I recall looking up why my internet wasn't working(turned out I need the LAN driver from the latter driver CD)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have only just noticed this issue when trying to open Sibelius 6 (music notation software) or Sonar X1. They both hang on starting and I have also noticed that in Control Panel, the Sound tab itself is unresponsive and won't open the next menu level. The same with 'manage audio devices' in the sub menu underneath it. I have a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB interface, which plays back audio fine. I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the Saffire to no avail, but this seems more like a Windows problem. Has anyone got any clues, as my work relies on me creating music and I just can't see another solution except reinstalling Windows, which would be a pain given the amount of stuff I have installed already

I have a Control panel from Intel where I could change the colors of my screen and other stuff, but I can't get it to open! Here's my weird problem: It shows in the system tray but when I click it I see this: [URL]
When I try to click on it, or anywhere else, it disappears and the program won't open. I've even tried ALL methods in this following link: Graphics — How to open the Intel Graphics Properties window
I think the problem will be solved if I can re-install the driver, but I've no idea what to (un)install. If you need any additional info on my system specs, just ask me or look up my laptop specs.
If I rename audio devices by the method indicated below, will there be any negative repercussions? I would assume that programs don't use those names to identify devices, but I want to double check.

But for some reason when I set it up as 5.1 surround sound only my front speakers are working (yet when I actually test it using the realtek driver all the speakers work). After days of research I found out that I needed the updated driver for realtek (which has additional settings to fix the surround sound conflict). So I downloaded the driver, installed it and now for some reason when I try to open the audio manager it does not open. I checked my control panel and it shows that the driver is installed. I also have the icon on the bottom left. But when I try clicking it, it doesnt open.

I checked my playback devices, and it shows a green bar going up and down indicating that the sound should be working, but i can't here jack.
If i switch my sound in playback devices to my 42 inch flat screen, sound comes threw fine... i HIGHLY doubt my speakers are broken as they were working before i reinstalled windows.
I have just installed a new PC, which has Realtek HD Audio on board.The problem I encounter, is that when using the Realtek HD Audio Driver, I get a "blip" sound before and after each sound, almost as if the speaker port is being enabled and disabled.I should point out, that I still get this blip through my front speakers, even when sound is coming out of rear speakers only (such as when performing a windows sound test).I should also point out, that when using the Windows 7 sound drivers, I do not have this problem - all is fine! Except for the big fact, that my rear speakers are not enabled as Windows 7 drivers insist on driving them all through the same jack port, which is why I need to run the Realtek HD Audio Manager & Driver.

A friend of mine re-installed his Windows 7 64 bit several weeks ago.Now, everytime he plays some music on the WMP or watch videoclip on the popular video websites, or either watching a movie on KMPlayer there are some noises every with interval 3~7s and duration no more than 1s, from what he told me they sound like scratching or something. He doesn't experience any problems while playing games.
He is using Windows 7 SP1/64bit,
GeForge 9800GT/GTX
4 gigabytes of ram
and core2quad intel processor.
Couple of days ago he installed VirtualBox to test 1 program compability on XP, when the windows got installed he went to watch a video while drivers are installing and noticed that the problem was gone. Though, if the virtual machine is offline the problem persists, while if its in it's gone. I can't really explain that thing to myself, my brain can't perform such a process. It's like something happening on Jupiter to influence the size of my d...Things done so far: Re-installed the newest drivers several times, tried with couple packets of older drivers, re-installing of old/new video drivers, older versions than DX11, removing all the drivers completely, no change. he recorded 1 minute of the video he was watching with Bandicam, he said he heard the sounds 15~20 times in that 1min of video, I didn't heard anything other than the video sound.
*Re-installing/changing the OS is not an option, as he will have a lot of important data loss.
*He won't pay 35EU for new sound card just because of some assumptions, while it was perfectly fine 30 minutes before he re-installed, nor I will advise him to do so.
I have the following setup:

Driver Version: 6.0.1.6449 from RealTek
MSI Nvidia GTX 460
Just using normal analog speakers or headphones audio works as expected. I can play WoW, Rift, a number of other games, iTunes, play a DVD, whatever - it all works fine and as expected. I can do this for hours and hours with no issues.
When I try to run any TWO or more programs that use audio at the same time (like vent and a game, or a game and iTunes for example); after a random amount of time the audio to the speakers will just cut out - like it's muted. This happens with headphones or normal stereo speakers plugged into the rear analog jack. I have not tested with any other speaker setups as I don't have any right now.
Here is some of the troubleshooting I've done:
- There are no error messages in any system logs.
- The mixer acts like nothing is wrong you can see audio levels playing, adjust sound level, etc but nothing comes out of the speakers.
- If I put the machine into sleep mode or reboot it the sound starts working again.
- While the audio is "cut out" the mic still works (people in skype or vent can still hear me but I can not hear them - I can also "monitor" the mic and it outputs the mic sound to my speakers).
- I've uninstalled, reinstalled drivers. I've tried older drivers and the newest drivers and all the drivers between.
- Tested with the HDMI audio output devices both Disabled and Enabled, no change
- Tested with the Digital output enabled/disabled, no change.
- In the driver tried testing with the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" checked and unchecked, no change.
- Restarting the Windows Audio Services has no effect or changes the state. Only sleep mode or hard reboot makes it start working again.
- Tried unplugging and replugging in the speakers and/or headphones, swapping them out, etc. no change to the state of the output of audio.
