A new entry with the name ClearType Text Tuner is available in the Windows 7 Control Panel. Previous operating systems provided users with an on and off switch for ClearType but no configuration options beyond that. Microsoft Powertoys provided access to a ClearType Tuner which provided access to a wizard that would walk the user through the process of optimizing the ClearType display. It seems that this wizard has now been integrated into Windows 7.The Wizard will display several screens with 2-6 identical text displays that make use of different ClearType settings asking the user to pick the one best suited for his computer monitor. There is still no possibility to set a specific value but it should improve text display on the computer quite a bit.+

Color Bleed With Cleartype?
in the left is firefox 4 config page, where it is particularly noticeable, second in is me typeing the most affected word, accessibilty, and on the far left is me typing the same word with cleartype off. As you can see on firefox the color bleed is very clear, typing within in windows is noticeable but faint and with cleartype off it is non -existent but text is harder to read,

Office 2007 Word Printing Deleted Text Over New Text
Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc. Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview". I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.

Searching A Bunch Of Text Files For A Particular Text String?
I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7. If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure. I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.

Formatted Text Does Not Transfer Over To Pasted Text
All of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc).One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.

I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit intomy Toshiba Laptop. Before I activated the Windows 7, the Hibernate feature is working fine. After I've keying in the License Key, the Hibernate Feature is keep going to Sleeping Mode. The exact output when I type this at an elevated command prompt. powercfg -a The result as follow:- The following sleep states are available on this system: Standby < S3 > Hibernate Hybrid Sleep The following sleep states are not available on this system: Standby < S1 > The system firmware does not support this standby state. Standby < S2 > The system firmware does not support this standby state how to disable the Hybrid Sleep?

Error Reporting Feature
I recall reading some time ago about a new feature in Windows 7 for user generated error reporting that would allow a user to record their desktop / take periodic screenshots while they replicated an error, which would then allow them to forward / email the report to someone who could offer help. I can't seem to locate this feature in Windows 7 Ultimate, and i'm having trouble locating any articles talking about the feature. Was it removed or am i not looking hard enough?

Anytime Upgrade Feature
A week or two ago there was a considerable amount of confusion concerning the Anytime upgrade. The people on the phone at MS insist they must send you a DVD in the mail. Windows 7 replies all you need to do is pay and get a key. The book Windows 7 inside and out says the same thing, but when you try to do that, at least this is what happened last week, the web site fails. I attribute this to the product being brand new and just one of the glitches that go along with a new roll out. Does anyone know if these issues have been clarified?

Feature You Are Trying To Use Is On CD-ROM Or Other Removable Disk
'The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available'. This is an error I get when I try to install the Games For Windows Live Marketplace onto my PC. From my understanding it may be because I am missing the Windows Installer Package .msi? Yet I cannot find a download that works with Windows 7... Is my assumption correct? Does anyone have a working link for Windows 7 64-bit? If not, what can I do about this irritating error that's stopping me from installing a fair few things. I also get messages whenever I install anything on steam, as, when it tries to mess with visual c+++ it tells me I am missing 'vc_red.msi' ...is this related?

BackUp And Restore Feature In Windows 7?
I'm not exactly sure how the Backup and Restore feature in Windows 7 work. Does it backup only your operating system and important processes and certain programs, or does it also backup the data on your harddrive such as music, movies etc? Is this feature essentially the same as creating a recovery partition/disk ?

Using Windows 7 Backup And Restore Feature?
Using the Windows 7 Backup and Restore feature I made a back up of my Documents folder and my Desktop (the only two things on my computer I care about). I did not check off the option "Include a system image of Drives: ---". After the backup completed I clicked on the JOSH-PC (backup file) the window saying "Choose an option below for the selected backup" came up. If I click "Restore my files from this backup" will it automatically overwrite my current Desktop and Documents folder with what is in the back up or will I have a choice as to where on my computer these files are restored to?
