View 0 Replies View RelatedI recently received a new computer at work with Windows 7 loaded on it. In the upper right-hand corner of any window, there is a pushpin icon beside the minimize icon. I can use this to pin any open window so that it always stays on top. I didn't realize that this feature is available on Windows 7, and it is not visible on my Windows 7 installation at home (this is an office computer). How to activate it?

I have a client who had a problem on his Windows Explorer in windows 7 64 bit. When he opens the windows explorer, it will show on the taskbar but it will not show on the screen. When he click on it, it will also open. Right click on it but no option to maximize or restore. The same problem with the task manager. But there's no problem opening other applications.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen I launch certain (not all) apps (including notepad) they stay minimized in the taskbar. I can click on them and the taskbar item acts as if something happened, but it's as if it displayed on a different screen. I have tested all the borders of my 2 screens and cannot find it, however I don't know how to 'move' active windows as I did in XP.

I.e. when I click the maximize button, it goes to full screen mode - is this normal behavior? I just want it to maximize like any other app would (not cover the task bar and still have the title bar at the top).
i installed win7 64bit (home) on my pc less than a month ago and have had trouble with streaming videos ever since. whenever i maximize a Internet or any other streaming video, it will freeze, minimizing the video fixes the problem (video itself never stops, i can hear the audio working the entire time), the freeze never happens when minimized.
i run an ahtlon ii 250, geforce 250gts (latest nvidia drivers) on a gigabyte 785 board.
If I click on a web page desktop icon the page always comes up half page, ie full width but only half height, I have to click maximize to get a normal full view. It does this with all sites from desktop but not when launching programs from desktop - they come up maximized

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with Battlefield 3, Counter Strike Source and other games minimizing within 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay. The game is still running but I can not maximize it. This is a nonstop issue and I have not been able to play any games for longer then 5 to 10 minutes.I recently built this desktop computer a couple of days ago. AMD 6200 6 core, MSI G70 mobo, g skill 2x 8gb memory, two MSI R6850 Cyclone OC in Crossfire mode and a tagan 1100 watt PSU.I have tried using original drivers, updated drivers, disabling windows aero, stopping start up programs, running registry cleaners, diagnostics, everything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'll start with system spec's to be sure I do not forget to post them after explaining:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3ghz
4GB of RAM
Windows 7 64-Bit OS
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+
I also run Dual Monitors, the monitors are the exact same model (which i do not have with me currently and don't think would matter, if needed i can get it)
(If need any more info let me know, I'll reply with it asap)
Now for the problem...
I have been using Windows 7 64-bit without a single problem on this machine since Windows 7 was released. Ever since then I have had no problems doing, well really anything until about 2 weeks ago. I usually play video games on my main screen whilst watching movies/streaming tv on the 2nd screen. The stuttering is constant when watching streaming videos in full screen mode, even when doing absolutely nothing else on my computer. If the video is not in full screen mode it plays fine. If I pop the streaming video out of the browser and F11 it to make it full screen that way it does not stutter at all this way either. I do not believe it to be a bandwidth/internet connection issue though as I also encounter problems when watching movies from my hard drive. The movies from hard drive issue is not exactly the same though. When watching a movie from my hard drive and playing a game the audio and video will skip about half a second every 4-5 seconds instead of a constant stutter. However if I am not playing a game or doing anything else on my computer the videos will play fine. I have updated my video card drivers and the audio drivers as well as bios on my computer but am still having the same issue.
I love ObjectDock and I love the taskbar too.I made the taskbar autohide but..When I maximize any programs it will occupy full screen, can I maximize a program but it will not occupy full screen? What I mean is.. it will maximize AS IF the taskbar is not hidden.Very annoying when I try to click on the minimize, maximize, close etc.. as the autohide will appear when I move over my mouse. Or maybe I can set the delay for the taskbar to appear?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I search in Windows 7, I want to have the ability to open found folders in a new window. If I r-click, that option is not there. Is there a way to add this to Windows 7?
Also: When I go to 'open file location', the file's folder opens in the same window - highly annoying. In Vista, it opens in a new window. Anyway to change this behvior in Windows 7 to act like Vista, so the file opens in a new window?
I am running into an issue where I can open a window/program with my mouse however once the window is open I cannot click inside of it. The window becomes inactive. I also have noticed I cannot right click on my desktop to bring up the properties. I can right click on the window in the task bar to close it but not in the window. Since this is happening I am limited to command prompt. I ran sfc /scannow with no errors. I tried with 3 different mice. I booted the computer into safe mode with command prompt and brought up the device manager to show devices not in use, and when the device manager window opened I could click inside it! since I could use the window I uninstalled all mouse drivers, and reinstalled my microsoft wireless usb mouse driver.. while in this safe mode I changed my mouse properties to system default as I read somewhere that can reset things. Next I booted the computer in safe mode (without command prompt) and still the same thing. I was trying to do a restore point as well however my Kaspersky antivirus 2012 is preventing that as i cannot find a way to kill the program through command prompt.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHomeGroup is a new feature introduced by Windows 7 which aims to simplify the process of sharing content and devices on your home network. In older versions of Windows, sharing content was a tedious and sometimes painful process, especially for home users. By using HomeGroups, you can now access all shared content in your home network with just one click. I know it sounds to good to be true. That's why, in this article, I will show what a HomeGroup is, how it works, how to create one and join your home computers to it. Also, I'll show how to change the password of your HomeGroup and how to retrieve it in case you forgot it.
View 0 Replies View RelatedLibraries are one of the coolest features introduced by Windows 7. They can help people organize their files and folders very efficiently. By using libraries, you can easily build a system so that you can always find what you want in seconds. Not only that, but you can also sort, tag or edit files and folders with just a few clicks. In this article I will explain what libraries are, show how they work and how to create new ones. Also, I'll show how to add new folders to a library, how to modify its properties and how to delete a library.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm not exactly sure how the Backup and Restore feature in Windows 7 work. Does it backup only your operating system and important processes and certain programs, or does it also backup the data on your harddrive such as music, movies etc? Is this feature essentially the same as creating a recovery partition/disk ?
