I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with SP 1 original unmodified MS Technet ISO to a blank Crucial RealSSD C300 SSD drive and it is taking hours to do that. The last time I did the install it took almost 4 hours to copy the files, I tried it from a DVD drive and from an external USB-HDD and there was no speed difference. After the installation was done, the SSD was very fast though, no problems at all then.
Now I have to install again and I do not want to wait again a half day just for the files to copy. My Mainboard is a ASROCK 870 Extreme 3 , I use AHCI , AMD AHCI Bios is disabled and AHCI is enabled for SATA3_5 and 6 .

I just finished building my first gaming rig (WoooT!) and it works (DOUBLE WOOT!) and now I have to install Windows 7. The catch is my mom's company has free copies from her work that are stored online in an FTP site. Can I access those from the BIOS or is there any other way I can get to them and install without having a running operating system on my computer? I don't have a USB of Windows or any other software and I got sold a fake copy (at least I'm pretty damn sure it is) from Ebay and I really don't want to use that.
I go out and buy another DVD of Windows 7?

Finally got assembled, everything in BIOs looks detected to the best of my knowledge. But I'm trying to get Windows 7 installed, and the boot order will not change.
Using a Gigabyte P67A-D3-B3 and an older harddrive that has Windows XP on it. I was under the impression that I could boot from the CD and just overwrite the old Windows.
But everytime I turn it on it just goes to start XP then I get a blue screen. I've changed the boot order to properly boot from cdrom first. (There is another menu accessed by F12 on gigabyte bios called boot order which doesn't seem to work either)
I tried taking the battery out after changing settings and draining it, but this brought me to a Checksum Bios Error screen where it seemed to go back to the old settings?

I just built a new PC and when i first installed windows it kept freezing during boot up so i decided to reinstall it. When I try to reinstall it, it gets past the point where it says installing updates when it restarts, and then it just gets stuck on a screen that says "setup is starting services".

Just built a brand spanking new rig (specs below), and I installed windows 7 onto my SSD (No Problem!) and proceeded to install drivers, format my extra drive and start installing other software and etc. Then randomly I would get a blue screen telling me some sort of data dump message and the system would reboot normally. This persisted and I booted in safe mode a few times no problem. This morning I tried to boot and Windows 7 froze on the "starting Windows" screen, no colored orbs here. Since then I have attempted to reinstall windows onto my SSD(same freezing issue even after waiting over 40 min.), install windows on my hdd(same issue) and boot without various components(video card, cd drive etc) to no avail. I also flashed the latest BIOS via USB and have attempted boots w/o usb, intel smart connect and rapid start, and other possible solutions.

my Dell Studio XPS 1645 (laptop).
To give you some background, I purchased this machine from Dell a little over a year ago it came pre-installed with Windows 7 Premium Home Edition. Since that time the computer has been terrific (aside from running a bit too hot for my liking), and I really have experienced no performance issues.
A week ago Sunday (7/31) I was poking around my taskbar and noticed that I had some updates to install from Microsoft I always thought these were automated but apparently the service pack isnt how long that potential update was sitting there, could have been a while. Regardless, I decided to upgrade to service pack 1 and for about a week nothing dramatic happened.
However, beginning yesterday my computer started to behave a bit odd, almost as if I had a virus. My Internet stopped working, I was getting random errors when attempting to open files. I was getting absolutely pummeled with windows errors (i.e not genuine, windows has stopped working etc. etc.). I was ultimately met with a flashing white screen and computer crash. I attempted a re-start and was met with a blue screen, safe mode wouldnt work, and ultimately after a couple tries it just seemed to randomly start. On that re-start though, I was met with text at the bottom right hand of my screen that said Windows 7 Build 7601 not genuine.
Luckily I have a work PC so Ive been able to do some research online (the impacted machine behaves extremely odd when I get it started). There are TONS of posts about this windows not genuine issue but Ive been struggling identifying the same symptoms I have. Also, it looks like this is a legit result of trying to use pirated software, so I want to make sure that any fix I pursue isnt the Hey this is how you get your pirated software to work! fix but rather the known Microsoft issue these are the best next steps fix.
Thus far Ive attempted a few things (uninstalling SP1, system restore, activating windows online) and all 3 have been met with failure. Basically my computer will freeze, or go through the iteration and nothing will happen. Ive included the diagnostic below
Code: Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0):

Recently completed my first computer build and am trying to install windows with a raid 0 on 2 500g HDD. I have it set up in the BIOS for 1-4 and 5-6 sata ports to RAID. When I boot from the dvd drive with the windows disk, after clicking install windows, it says: "a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing" I figured this was a driver for the raid but i cant find it anywhere. if i select browse, there is a boot (x folder but i dont see anything in there that would help me. Do i need to download a driver to a usb stick and pull it off there? adn if yes where could i get the driver? i cant find it on the asus website.

I've gathered all the parts for my new build but am not sure what order to tackle the software part. I'm confident I am able to strap it all together its only the tech stuff that scares me.
1. Strap everything together (minus graphics card)
2. Power on
3. Update bios via usb
4. Install windows 7
5. Do I update chipset and all other mobo drivers? or is windows update competent enough to do this?
6. Plug in graphics card
7. Boot up and install graphics card software.
Here's what I am working with:
P8z68 LX LGA mobo
i5 2500k
Sapphire 6850
Seagate 1tb HDD
Gskill value 1333 ram
Asus cd drive
Windows 7 Home

I am unable to install Windows 7 or XP on my new build. I own a Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Disc and the XP Disc is from my old PC. After choosing to boot from my optical drive, I receive a Windows Boot Manager scree that tells me that Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.
Status: 0xc00000e9
I have tried the following:
- Rebooting my PC and only having my SSD connected to my MB (no beeps)
- Rebooting my PC and only having my HDD connected to my MB (no beeps)
- Trying both of my HDDs connected to my MB (no beeps)
- Having both of my HDDs disconnected. (no beeps)
- Trying to install Windows XP, but I received a similar error (no beeps)
- Changed the SATA mode in my BIOS from ACHI to IDE - (my pc then made loud, rapid, and continuous beeps)
Do I have to send my drives back for an RMA or is my MB bad? Everything is powering on, but I do not know what the problem is. Could it be my SATA 6GB/s cables?

I recently downloaded the AMD all in one driver from this link: [URL]. I have a few issues however:
1) I don't know if this is necessary, but I can't find out my current driver version. I did a google search on how to find it, but the results I received told me to look for a "Motherboard Resources" entry under "System Devices" - problem is that no such entry exists on my system.
2) Whenever I click on the setup file for the driver I downloaded, it launches it using the ATI Catalyst Control Center. Is this right?

At first when i reboot my computer i get a pretty bad sound at startup when i play a mp3 song or open a video but the sound totally disappears after 3-5 seconds to never come back again until a new reboot. Anyone mind helping me that have got things to work out with the same card? Got a nforce 430 motherboard if that does any good.

There has, so far, been no issues with drivers for 7000 for the Acer 5920gmi that I use. To disable my touchpad I installed the Synaptics driver just to disable the touchpad.

I just finished a new build, and ready to setup with raid0 and win7 64bit.After reading several posts in several categories, I am unsure of the correct sequence of events. I think it is - boot with windows install disk, enter bios, setup raid0, then do windows install to raid array. I will be adding the 2nd set of ssd's for raid 1 in 3-4 days, and was wondering if there was any benefit to wait on the install, set up both raid 0 and raid 1 before the windows install. The ssd's are all 128 GB, the raid0 on sata III 6 gbs ports, the raid 1 will be on the 3gbs ports.

Ok, so i'm going to attempt to describe in detail what exactly is happening here.
My computer has 2 hard drives. One is a 320gb SATA and the other, a 180gb PATA.
I've had windows XP professional SP3 installed on the 180gb HDD for a very long time with absolutely no problems. The main use of the 320gb HDD was storage.
A couple of months ago i decided to give Win7 a whirl so i downloaded the 7100 RC 64bit build. I backed up the data on the 320gb HDD, i formatted and i installed win7. After some time, for absolutely no reason, my steam client running on winXP stopped running. Every time i try to start it i get a "Fatal Error: Failed to load platform modules".
"Why is this relevant?" you might ask. Well, the same time steam stopped working, WIN7 started giving me EXTREME compatibility errors...
What do i mean by extreme? Well, absolutely nothing works. I can't start notepad, i can't start MSpaint, i can't start any EXE whatsoever because every time i get an error telling me that the program ws not designed for the current operating system i'm using. I can't remember the error by heart but i know it's a compatibility issue. The OS boots fine, i just can't use anything on it.
This has happened 3 times now. Every time the same thing. I format both HDD's, i install win xp and everything i need on it, then i install win7 64 bit and install everything i need there aswell and then after 2 or 3 weeks of absolutely smooth and trouble free OS goodness, everything goes to hell. I have no idea what's happening or why. I really need help since i can't live through another 2 formats/installs/backup moves and such.
Feel free to demand any further info and i will be more than happy to provide it.
here's some basic info on my PC specs:
CPU: intel core 2 duo E6750 @ 2,66Ghz (OC'd to 2,85Ghz)
GPU: nVidia 9500 GT
MoBo: ConRoe 1333-D667 Rev. 01 (this one)
RAM: 4gb (2x 2GB Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G) 2gb PC2 5300 CL5 240-pin DIMM
Hard Drives: 1x Western Digital (WDC WD1600JB-00GVC0) PATA
1x Hitachi (HDT725032VLA360) ATA
i recently bought the 4GB of ram only to find out that my mobo only handles 3,2 GB of that, the rest being used for something i still dont know (no not extra GPU memory)..

I have Windows 7 64 bit here.
Windows Media Player has been behaving very badly and I'm desperate for help.
I want to uninstall the damn appliation but cant' even see a way to do so in
Uninstall programs.
Here is what it is doing now. right now in taskmanger wmplayer32 is eating up nearly
2 gigabytes of RAM. My system has 4 installed. 78 percent of my total RAM is consumed by Win 7 due to media center.
CPU usage goes totally ape and swaps to 100 percent on one core and 50 percent
and higher overall with both cores.
I can get control of my pc which as you can imagine slows to a crawl, by opening
task manager and attempting to kill the damn windows media center and player process's.
THis usually terminates the problem and I get the RAM back and CPU averages the normal few percent.
However if I open media center again to say watch TV it goes ape**** again.
I've never been a fan of MS Media center and of course always used VLC and the ilk to watch vids. However when I migrated to Windows 7 the media center crap was more or less forced on me.
If I can find a fix I'll keep it but if not I'm far more inclined to totally remove
all of MS MEdia center from Win 7 if at all possilbe. IT is a nightmare sytem hog and
a poorly behaved app.
Course that comes back to my first statement I CAN"T FIND A WAY TO REMOVE THE GD MEDIA CENTER.

This is a new computer build that I finished a few days ago. I've updated the BIOS, set up a RAID 1 configuration through Intel Rapid Storage Technology/through the BIOS. I installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate and have begun to migrate my programs and data over from my previous machine. This process has been paused because I am experiencing BSOD. There are two which have occurred:
0x0000001a - MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
0x00000050 - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA
I ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic test overnight - no problems were found. I've updated all my drivers. I have followed the BSOD posting instructions and SF Diag Tool instructions, and also googled effortlessly regarding these Stop codes.

There is this really old game I used to play on a windows (I believe it was Windows Xp service pack 2) called Lego Island of Extreme Stunts (1). So naturally I try to play the game and it obviously doesn't work. So I try out compatibility mode. The problem is, I can't find out what compatibility will work. I've tried everything that other people have said would work with no luck. Here are the problems: When I load the game without compatibility mode, the game run through the title screen until I hit the new game or load game button and then it crashes after trying to load for a while. When I run it in windows 98/me (this is what someone on another forum told people to do) I hit the pay game button, but nothing starts. I just have a desktop with no game popping up. When I run windows Xp (service pack 2 and 3) I get a window to start playing a game (unlike windows 98/me) but then it starts the first loading screen and it never loads the title screen. It just freezes and I have to find a way to stop the game without having to restart. I've tried windows 2000 with the same results as windows xp Other information: I'm running bootcamp. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the game whatsoever but I think it would be something good to know.
What I'd like to know: What am I doing wrong? How can I run the game on windows 7 (bootcamp)? Can I run the game on windows 7 (bootcamp)? If I can't run the game, why can't I?

I realize that October is fast approaching for the RTM but I plan to keep running the Beta for a couple of months past the Grand Opening.
Is it possible that all the updates that I have received equally add up to the newer build?
